  1. Wanting to buy this one but says untested in soy wax. Anyone use it? I use C3 but any soy would make me try it...lol, like I'm not going to try it anyway! I just won't buy a big bottle if results aren't good in soy.
  2. Really cute, great for V-Day too. Best of luck to you in your new business.
  3. Thanks for the info. I don't like to double wick candles so decided to stick with status jar that I can single wick. As much as I hate to do it, I'll just raise the price of my candles a bit to offset the increase in price of jars/shipping.
  4. It's really sad that these suppliers straight out lie unless you question them and then some still dance around the truth.
  5. I use C3 and cotton wicks and found these jars at General Wax outlet store. They are cheaper and hold more wax than the status jars and monticiano jars I currently use so I was considering a change. I'm concerned about the shape coming in at the top. Diam is very close and I'm willing to do the testing but would like to know if anyone uses these and if you have wick drowning issues as the candle burns down?? TIA!! http://www.candlemakingsupplies.net/glass-container-jars--lids---gift-boxes/glass-containers---jars/cate_104/p___P0956539.html
  6. we are county and they said to take to any motor oil disposal site...may make that old oil smell half decent.
  7. Seems like Accu-blend had an organic soy wax but when I just checked it's no longer on their website. Ok found it, listed under organic...duh! Yes they have a vege blend organic wax I believe it was soy, coconut & olive oil wax but the specs don't say. You'd have to call to get info
  8. Looking for ideas on what to do with fo that you no longer want or doesn't smell up to par anymore. I currently use wood shavings in cans to dispose of it.
  9. Wow, they look great! Love the gems embedded bet it looks really great burning in a dark room.
  10. Love the layered hearts! Cupcakes are really cute too
  11. awesome! Mardi Gras is on my bucket list
  12. OMG, love it. Would like to buy a bunch of that before our sea glass fest in March.
  13. Closed my website down and quit online sales 4 years ago, shortly after purchasing the antique malls. I'm strictly selling in our stores and also a little in a couple coffee shops in Mexico...not much happening there. I'm so busy with the antique stores I can only devote 1 day a week to candles if that, so that's why I can't keep up...sales are good for me but modest. I average about 100 melts a month and only about 15 candles a month. I even had to purchase a bunch of soy candles to sell for Christmas from Swan. I just didn't have time to make my own...pretty sad but I come home wiped out and too tired! I'm even buying bulk soaps to sell instead of making my own...which is prob best due to insurance rates here.
  14. Something very interesting. I was on the hunt to replace Bert's Christmas tree this year and couldn't find anything that was real close. I settled on Oregon Pine Needle from The Candle Source, which is very nice. I used up the rest of my Bert's oil and also made the Oregon Pine into 24 melts of each. Not 1 of my Bert's melts sold but only have 1 left of the Oregon Pine Needle, so my customers preferred it. They were side by side on a display and priced the same. This is one case where stronger was not better...and made me realize that I should just find replacements that are similar and throw well and quit trying to match any supplier that went out of business...save me a few gray hairs.
  15. I haven't called him yet, he would not quote me a price at the antique faire where I met him but gave me his card and said to call him. He is in California, most likely Southern because that's where I met him. He did say he would give me a price that I couldn't do cheaper myself and since I was driving to wineries to get empty bottles he is probably right. He was selling individually at $2.50 a glass (what he called them) and I told him I needed to be at around $1.00 ea and he still said "call me, we'll work something out". I haven't called because I'm still on the fence as to whether I want to add that line back in...sort of overwhelmed just keeping up with what I have and doing the antique store. I'm now doing status jars and they are selling well.
  16. Perfect for Valentines day! or any day at my house
  17. Gorgeous soaps! I find myself wanting to stare and look for faces in the pretty swirls.
  18. They look great! Lots of work cutting bottles and finishing the top of the jars, I did it for a while. Now I found a guy that will sell them to me already cut and finished in lots of 100. A local candle maker here leaves the wine labels on hers, customers seem to love it, personally I'd rather see a branding label. I used brown kraft labels on mine because I didn't like white on the wine bottles and clear just didn't show the label enough. Kudos & good luck!!
  19. My friend uses neon candle colors and she said she buys from here, she likes it http://onestopcandle.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=OSC/CTGY/FCP
  20. Awesome job with the tin, candle, label and the pictures! I love repurposing just about anything and everything I can.
  21. I can only reply for straight soy, it usually turns out best when I wait till it's cloudy. My guess would be that you can't do the same with paraffin? When I pour before then I end up with a dip in the center of the clamshell. Container candles don't matter to me because I almost always heat gun the tops.
