  1. Love the fact that it has a spout. I'm going to have to look for one at yard sales...heating up 3 presto pots is gettin old when I need big batches.
  2. Super cool looking but even in my high priced area I can't see making $ on them. I'd love to have them for myself though
  3. Wonder if those big crystals of water softener salt would work?? I've used plain ole sea salt before but never tried big chunks...I like the idea a whole lot. Big chunks would look good colored as well.
  4. Not sure because I never got them with potpourri. Maybe a fire hazard with the bulb directly touching the potpourri? Its probably been a year since I first bought them. I guess I'm doing ok with them. Some months I sell 6 and other months 2 but I'm only in our antique store. I bought 8 more that were on sale last month.
  5. Sorry, been off a bit...those are the correct warmers.
  6. Anyone selling these? Curious as to what you charge for them? Currently have priced at $34.00 Shipping to me is killer from CTW but I only buy them on sale. They are not real fast sellers but I love the look of these warmers.
  7. really cute idea! You might even venture into using cookie cutters for shapes, that design would be really pretty in hearts. You can always remelt the excess and pour into a clamshell.
  8. Very nice! Love the stars as well, I actually have that mold and just haven't gotten around to trying it (gosh it's only been 5 years). Always thought of doing a red white & blue swirl or speckled effect in that mold for Memorial Day & the 4th of July....So many molds...so little time!
  9. Here in Central Calif, people would pay $1.25 for unscented colored any wax and about $1.00 for not colored, shrinkwrapped. Palm wax is expensive but most consumers don't care in a votive. Perfect example of what Vicki said, different area..different price...different tastes as well. I like color but buy white because I love soy wax and the pure color of it. I also like palm wax and the pure color of it. Scent is very important in most instances, but when I'm looking for candles for an area where there is food, I definitely want unscented so I purchase both (and I tell customers this when selling). I was just at a fair where a candle person was selling, she was pricier and barely sold anything. Know your market, look at prices in stores, markets and fairs that carry hand made candles.
  10. Beautiful, it is an art for sure and you have the talent! Love the bunny, I've never seen one before.
  11. Haven't purchased it in several years, but I agree with Chris, General Wax had a good one. I ran out and just opted not to use the scent anymore. I tried others and they were all way too sweet to me.
  12. Terra Cotta also scents very easily. You can buy the clay and make hanging designs to scent. I even broke up some cheap tc pots, scented it then added some sea glass and small rocks to put in a jar. Living near the beach, people love those. Thanks for the question, it reminded me that I should make those jars again!
  13. I've noticed the same thing OOB but in wax they seem to change and I don't notice it as much. Def from Candle Source but also from other suppliers.
  14. Its only too much if you think it is. Believe in yourself and your product and your buyers will too. I have to keep reminding my customers (and sometimes myself) that these are not machine made or mass produced. They are made by hand with lots of time and love going into the final product. Remind them also that most customers will pay more for a handmade candle. Buyers tend to respond quickly if you have a price going into the conversation and are not wishy washy about price and discounts. I do totally agree about votives, they are time consuming, expensive and don't warrant a discount or at least not much of a discount.
  15. I should have specified that I use spearmint and not peppermint. It's much milder in scent and I like the sweet balance with the rosemary.
  16. Mix yourself, small amounts and use q-tip test and when it gets close then try in wax. The ones I've tried are more minty and I think it's because Rosemary can be overpowering so they use very sparingly. I like more Rosemary so now mix my own.
  17. I'm probably too neurotic, but I find it really tough to reuse plastic unless the scent is really similar. Glass bottles I wash with Dawn and then use straight rubbing alcohol (about an ounce or two) to both finish cleaning and dissipate any water that may be lingering. I always use new lids unless the scent is really similar.
  18. I know what you mean $300 goes fast! I haven't tried a ton but everything I've tried is strong and smells great, best Bay Rum ever for soap (used in candles too).
  19. Thanks, I'm going to order some for sure. Spoke to someone else who said very strong in soy.
  20. Also wanted to tell you that if it's your first time buying from Lebermuth and you call them, they will most likely waive the $20.00 fee on orders under $300.
  21. I could be wrong here, it's been a while, but it seems I bought Lebermuth Bay Rum from ScentWorks so they may carry their scents
