  1. Love a true blood orange all alone and then pretty much any lemon or lemon mixture.
  2. We all get it! Sometimes nothing works but most days just walking outside into fresh air for 15 mins will clear it, or walking away and sniffing into a bag of ground coffee....what won't we do for a strong melt/candle?????
  3. Ok, the Orgeon Pine Needle from Candle Source is extremely close in scent to Bert's Christmas tree while melting. It does seem slightly lighter but that could be my nose going from room to room to compare. I really doubt it will last as long as Bert's but time will tell. I melt 2 clamshell cubes all day (about 8 hours) and see how many days they last. I use the same lightbulb warmers for both tests. So far 2 days going pretty close. I have my son checking as well.
  4. I'm sorry you're having problems but really glad to find out it's not my nose. The only explanation I can come up with is Bert did not cut the oils at all and others are. There has to be someone buying from the same mfgs she was buying from. I can get really close to the actual scent, but they are weak in comparison. I am using Candle Source's Monkey Farts now with no complaints from my customers. The creme brulee, christmas tree, chocolate mint, cham lav, and I'm sure others that I can't think of right now just don't last as long in melts. My employees (we burn in our store) and customers have all complained that while the scent is still really nice they just don't last anymore.
  5. I'll have to put it on the list for next year, lol, I've vowed not to order another fo for the rest of the year and it's difficult!
  6. I will let you know in a few days when I melt them. I love Candle Source, most fo's are great in soy and they don't cost a fortune. I ordered a bunch of Christmas scents and I think I'm going to keep them all in my line, love the Joyeux Noel, Chirstmas Splendor & Sleighride. In regular scents I use so many I can't remember them all but True Lavender, Pink Sugar, Orange Vanilla are def customer favorites.
  7. Ok in wax and just closed lids on melts. The Candle Source's Oregon Pine Needle is very close to Bert's even in color. It's a true pine needle scent with no woodsy scent detected by my nose, so far I really like it. I doubt it's going to be as strong but it does need to cure some. Now the Christmas Tree from them is different and much darker in color. It's more of a woodsy scent and while it's nice I prefer the straight pine needle scent.
  8. NG carried one with that name but I couldn't tell you if it's the same.
  9. I'm going to get the two I just got into wax melts today and also pour Bert's so I'll compare side by side as they cure and then melt in electric warmer (light bulb type). I'll let you know how they compare. I could use .5 oz of Bert's Pine Tree (Christmas Tree) and still get a killer throw in C3
  10. I don't use those waxes but my mind went to cutting back on the paraffin..maybe try 80% soy 20% paraffin. Those uneven jars are a pita to wick anyway.
  11. Never do I use more than 1 oz pp, if the fo is that weak I don't use it after testing. Strong or heavy (vanilla, amber etc) I usually can use .8 oz There was a supplier that went out of business who I could use .6 in some of her fo's, I really miss that!
  12. I've been using C3 for about 7 years and certain fo's would seep out so I started using less of those. I found that if the ambient temp is too warm or too cold when the candles or melts cool it may cause sweating. It's pretty much trial and error and keep notes. Tempering the wax and using USA may help somewhat but you need to work with each fo to see just how much you need to prevent sweating and still get a good ht. A standard of 1 oz pp just does not work across the board with this wax...most, but not all.
  13. Pretty sad that they steal ideas because they can't be creative enough to come up with their own. Sorry it happened to you
  14. vanilla, clove & cilantro (not all together...hmmm, new scent?) mixed with orange sell really well here, but so does straight orange.
  15. Ditto here, forgot just how bad black cherry is, won't even pour that one! Also my son hates Choc Coconut, I'm guessing he doesn't like the heavy chocolate scent because he likes coconut..or maybe it's the combo. Had to quit making that one as well.
  16. Ok just got my starville order. Mike's brulee is downright yummy oob it's not the same as Berts but I think this one will be a winner. I also got French Market - Super nice OOB not overwhelming like I expected Lime Cilantro - May just be a dupe I've been looking for. Red Hot Cinnamon - Exactly like the candy oob I'm excited to get these into wax as I may have 3 replacements here and a nice floral to boot!
  17. Anything pumpkin gags me but they sell very well. Also straight rose and patchouli I don't care for and patch is one of my top 10. Not a big straight vanilla fan either or anything with vanilla as the key note.
  18. Seems like many of them charge based on their own shipping calc rather than using actual shipping costs. It's ok if they tell you that it's an estimate and you will be charged actual charges, but some don't. This supplier is not the only one, I can't tell you how many times I dump a cart when I see the shipping charges. I ship 2-5 times a week and use USPS, Fedex and UPS so I have a pretty good idea what it should cost.
  19. Isn't it the very best caramel! I was gifted a candle in that scent...oh my...makes me want to run to bbw and buy more. Of course, dark chocolate sea salt caramels are my favorite candy as well!
  20. Thanks all, I need to check out NG again, haven't ordered theirs since I quit doing b&b. Lorelei thanks for the tip on the Peaks scent, I will be sure to try that one when I place my next order with them, it sounds like a winner here!
  21. I recently ordered the candle source's Oregon Pine and oob it smells like a christmas tree lot, haven't put it to wax yet.
  22. I just ordered the Mike's Brulee from Starville along with their Chocolate mint, red hot and french market. I don't like their website, it's awful. Have to keep going back into fragrances each time you put something in cart...back button takes you to descriptions only and couldn't get to payment option it stuck on local pickup...hoping I can call in a credit card. If I can replace 3 of the fragrances here it will be worth the hassle.
  23. Just thought of another one of bert's bayberry
  24. Does Cajun's have a caramel smell? I looked at description and it doesn't say anything about caramel.
