  1. Looks great! One of my favorite scents!
  2. Here's an OLD thread on it (scroll down a little to see where it starts discussing it) - It was one of the first things I made almost three years ago and it still smells fresh in the bag! http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=business;action=display;num=1108738151
  3. Hey Kris - I just wrapped them up in regular cellophane - no bag.
  4. Yes. Vanmala here on ct sells it - she has specials in the suppliers section quite often.
  5. I usually pour my mottles starting out around 175. Pretty colors you have there.
  6. I needed to come up w/gifts for Bunco this past week, and I found these tins at the dollar store - Love them! Put in a bag of potpourri, which I scented, wrapped them up and thought they turned out pretty darn cute! I may get more for additional gifts. Gotta love the dollar store sometimes lol
  7. Loving the purple - all of your candles are looking great
  8. This confuses me. I think most of the peep here (or at least a good percentage of them) add fo before the dye so they can watch it and make sure it incorporates with the wax. And what does that have to do w/ending up grabbing the wrong bottle of dye and ending up with brown candles? I'm perplexed on this one.
  9. Don't assume the lid on your liquid dye is screwed on tight.
  10. Oh man. The very first supplies I bought were from some company called a lighted stick. The fo's were AWFUL, no good instructions - the color blocks SUCKED. I know they're gone now, and for good reason. It's a wonder I even continued on after I got that batch of stuff. Their customer service was nonexistant, also.
  11. I'm too lazy to mix my own scents lol - Ocean from Peak is my fave, but if you're hell bent on mixing your own, there is a mixing chart located here: http://www.candletech.com/recipes/scents/ - it may give you some idea of where to start, if nothing else.
  12. Lol at Mizbizzyb. It is broke, for sure. And Chandler. So Broke Chandler, I guess would be the correct terminology. I'm still a relative newbie at just coming up on three years. Still learn something new every day, just about.
  13. It really all varies by state. Call and find out what the rules/laws are for where you are.
  14. Thanks for that idea - these do have a lip, for sure. I wasn't sure HOW to suspend them. This is so out of my element lol. Have you had experience w/these, then? I hate to pester you with questions, but I'm not sure what techniques I can use w/them. I have some ideas on what I'd like to do w/them, but don't want to waste wax or additives if it won't work.
  15. Ha ha, yeah, NICE wording lol. But very accurate. I believe you nailed it on the head They're exactly what I believe you are talking about. I will go downstairs tonight or tomorrow and dig them out of the box of molds she gave me and give a better description along w/pics.
  16. I guess this may be just me, but I had a fire extinguisher in place before I even melted my first batch of wax. Glad your house didn't burn down.
  17. A couple of weeks ago I was given some Pourette molds from a lady in my church who used to make candles, but has not been able to pour in several years due to macular degeneration (bless her heart). Anyhow, among these molds are two flexible ones - blue rubbery ones...is this a silicone? The only silicone molds I have are baby blocks which are a very thick pink silicone - these from Pourette are pretty thin...I'm not sure what different effects I can get from these molds - anyone know what I'm talking about here who can give some insight? TIA (in particular I guess I'm wondering if they can rustic or mottle, or be just plain ....)
  18. Pine cones in home fireplaces is not a good thing due to creosote build up - the wax itself isn't a problem because the fire burns so hot it burns off any residue. As Ginger said, if you use the search button at the top and put in firestarter or fire starter, you'll got a lot of info. ets that not everyone uses pine cones in their firestarters, so the ones without are better for home fireplaces.
  19. Very pretty mottles you have there
  20. Lmao, I got that mag a couple of days ago, and that is the FIRST thing I thought about, also! And I don't even make soap!
