  1. The second pic is coming up larger for me when I click on it - thanks for posting that - it's interesting!
  2. Bought it from the classies - think it's from candle cocoon - I'm not too crazy about it myself, but thought I'd see how it works out. Glad you like it
  3. Hadn't used the mold for rustics before (it's metal, not aluminum) - wasn't sure how it would turn out, but not too bad. The thing I noticed about the metal is that it did tend to get hotter than my other molds, so there are a couple of spots of straight mottle w/no rustic, but that doesn't bother me - adds more character lol. I made this one for us to use here at the house for fall decoration. Almost three lbs of wax, took forever! Thanks for looking
  4. Thanks for posting your results. I'm curious to see a picture
  5. I hand out ornies here and there, also. Um, like I gave some out at our vet's office since we are always freaking there w/one of our six animals it seems. I handed out five, and I have gotten several candle orders from them, w/more for Christmas on the way. Also hairstylist, servers at restaurants along w/their tip (if they seem to not be a ditzy college kid who I wouldn't trust w/an actual candle lol), things like that. Just another idea to throw out there along w/Barncat's (sorry, not trying to hijack your thread)
  6. Oh yeah, the dent would make it very difficult to remove - I had a dented mold once, it really sucked. Can't wait to see this new one
  7. I agree w/that. In fact, I think they look better w/mottle. But I'm always odd man out most of the time lol. Practice makes perfect, you're coming right along! I'm going downstairs to my shop right now to play Oh, and if you're having to practically dig it out of the mold, it doesn't sound like you're waiting long enough to unmold? You aren't trying to rush it, are you?
  8. Please do - it would be interesting to see how it turns out
  9. AHA! Forgive my ignorance! Learn something new every day! ets, when I first answered I thought she was still talking about 1343
  10. Are you wanting to phase out using the 1343? It works great for rustics. I don't know about the other, though. Just thought I'd bump this up to see if anyone else cares to chime in for ya.
  11. I'm just bumping this up because I'm wondering if you ever heard anything back from them?
  12. That looks like it's going to be excellent! :highfive: I love mosaics.
  13. Exactly. I mean, I have three prestos, and I just use small ladles to scoop directly from them into the molds. A lot of people use the pyrex measuring cups to dip from the presto into pour pots, etc.
  14. Darbla, the spigot is optional - you can get along just fine without it!
  15. Nice job - love the idea of the boat - it does match your co. name so well! Good job!
  16. Well, it's nice to know that weren't just looking at them and going, well these sure do SUCK! lol. Yeah, hopefully next show you'll kick butt. Is Sharyl doing the next show w/you?
  17. Maybe the November show will do better since it'll be closer to crunch-time for gifts for Christmas. Sorry the rustics didn't do well for you. Glad you are happy w/the results overall.
  18. Hey, Dana - mp is a base which you literally just melt and and pour into the molds. CP actually stands for cold process - it's making soap from scratch - There is info under the bath and body link on the left of the screen - Eugenia is giving a beginners cp soap making class on October 21-22 (two day class) that will probably help you She gives the ingrediants you'll need up there in the classroom section
  19. Don't sell yourself short. They aren't hard to do (honest, or I wouldn't be doing them, I'm lazy lol). Check out the class on October the 14th and maybe you would find it's not that hard
  20. If I was to order just a slab, I would pay over nine dollars in shipping. If I order a case, I pay $28.00 for shipping 55-60 lbs. So think about it, if I ordered 5 slabs at different times, I'd be paying almost FIFTY dollars in shipping! So uh, yeah, it's better to order the case if you can. P.S. I think we all agree that shipping SUCKS. But at least we have that option lol
  21. Great wave action you have going on - reminds me of a lava lamp!
