  1. Hi all. I am in the process of buiilding an online website for selling my candles. No where near publishing it or anything like that, just kind of playing with it, anyway I was wondering if you have any suggestions on Shopping Carts systems that work with Yahoo Websites.
  2. I am glad you told me that! I haven't used Vybar in my other 4630 candle I made, but that was just because I forgot about it!
  3. Just wondering if most here use vybar in every single candle they make. I am using 4630 tonight was contemplating on not using any if I don't have to.
  4. LOL.... How many candles do most of you burn at one time. I have 4 separate candles burning right now in different rooms of my house (so I can test the scent throw) Even in the bathroom!!! Just curious.
  5. I sent one of my soy candles to a friend to test burn and she called me and said the wax turned brown as it burned. She said she has burned it 3/4 way down and now the melted wax has gone from the original color (light purple) to a brown burnt color? Jar size = 2" wide, wax = CB ADVANCED , wick = CD20 What could be causing this? I had no trouble with my original burn test.
  6. Are there any candle making magazines that I can subscribe to or craft magazines you would reccommend? Just curious.
  7. I love you guys!!!!! You were right, well except for the candy cane one, but the other candle I was talking about - I re-lit it, and it has been burning fo about two and a half hours and although the meltpool is not as big as I would like it to be, the wax is melting and the wick is no longer tunneling. And... the scent throw is awesome.... banana nut bread! Making me hungry!!!! So I will burn the thing again tomorrow and go from there. Thanks for all your help, it really is working. I now 3 "other" candles which have passed a second burn by me and off to friends for their test burns. Thanks! The candy cane one the wick just kept going out.
  8. 6 oz. hex jars which are 3" wide, 1/2 lb of CB Advance wax, CD 16 wick, 8% FO, didn't test burn very long because the Wick autmatically tunneled down. the melt pool was only about 1/4", wick was 1'4",
  9. OK more bad experiences with wicks. So the last two test burns with CB Advance wax and CD wicks the wicks have tunneled down. I have read this can be a sign of either too big, or too small of a wick, so how do I tell?
  10. Where do those of you that sell candles as a business get your labels for your jars? I was going to make mine on the computer but then someone told me they had to be printed on fire-proof paper so I wasn't sure.
  11. Thanks MizBizzyB. I'll get right on that wet-spot-ridder! LOL. As long as I know I am not the only one who gets them, I will be fine I hope. Like I said, I have candle labels I can just slap on the spot. I just thought I was still doing something wrong. You have been a lot of help to me! Had a vanilla candle tested in three different jars, three different wick sizes, two worked wonderfully, one tunneled down. Just thought I'd add that! *Wink*
  12. OK I read on here to get rid of wet spots use a hair dryer or heat gun on the spot. On what setting and for how long, because I did one of my smalloer jars and it only made the spot bigger, not go away. I know wet spots are not that big of deal and can be covered with a label but I would prefer to not have them at all. Any tips will help thanks!
  13. Do most of you double wick anything larger than 3" I read somewhere on here I thought that the majority of candle makers on here double wick anything larger. Just curious because I an an 8 oz. 4" jar and a 16 oz.4" jar and I am seriously thinking about double wicking.
  14. The jar is slightly warm, but not too hot I can't touch it. I am starting to figure out the wicks. I like these CD wicks a lot better than the ones I was using, that's for sure. Thanks everyone.
  15. When I test burned two of my 6 oz. hex jars the wick pool went from a 1/4" to half an inch then stayed there but the whole top 1/2" of the candle remained totally melted. It didn't smoke, the wick didn't tunnel down and the wax does burn off so the candle disolves, great scent throw, nice flame, this is what I want. correct? Because my mom was saying that the candles you buy in the store usually leave wax along the side, if even 1/8" inch. If that.
