  1. This should help you. Ornies ROCK! http://www.candlesupply.com/how2aromaornies.html
  2. That seems to me like it would be very difficult to format whatever wording you want on it (but maybe that's just me) - what about having a Texas shaped outline (backdrop, watermark?) on a rectangular label? Maybe?
  3. My Wal-Mart has carried them - it's been a few months since I've actually looked for them, though. They were by the wedding crafts dept.
  4. I would think that Glade cuts their oil w/something - I don't think I personally would put it in wax. But I could be wrong. I'd rather try the dupe lol
  5. I know - I thought mine would go well as it was a couple of weeks before Mothers' Day - oh well. I'm actually going to close my business account and business license and just do it for me, I guess. I just can't seem to generate enough interest. :undecided
  6. I always love your soaps w/the curls in them - I want to do them when I get some extra $$ at some point. You went to a lot of work! Your open house sounds similar to mine in that I invited about 80 people, and only 14 showed up. That was disappointing for sure. At least you made twice as much as I did! So good for you on that note! Hopefully your next one will be even better!
  7. I always see my relief holes while burning, also - doesn't bother me, though.
  8. I bought some of that green styrofoam stuff - like they use to make flower arrangements - stuck it down in the cup and there you have it Thanks again - she did like it. There's only 3 cookies left lol
  9. Good idea, thanks I was thinking about making these as gifts for Christmas - I learned some things today - next time I will use precut cookie shapes instead of rolling out dough and using the cookie cutter myself. I didn't have any powdered meringue to make royal icing, so instead I had to make a softer icing - that's not too good cause it wants to run off the cookies when you put them upright - royal icing it is next time. I don't think these would be TOO bad to do if you just set aside a day to bake and insert sticks, then ice. Then maybe decorate the next day and arrange. I'll see how it goes. This thing took me THREE HOURS. So I definitely need to cut the time down. Thanks for the comments. :smiley2:
  10. It's my mom's bday, so I just made this for her. Never made one before, and I don't think I'll ever make one again lol - TOOK FOREVER. And I'm not so good at decorating cookies. Oh well, I'm her kid so I know she'll love it lol. Thanks for looking (sorry the pic isn't so great)
  11. Well, it's hanging an inch above the pillar, so it really isn't helping hold it in my case. But I understand what you mean.
  12. I'm a sma'at girl (said in a Forest Gump voice) sometimes. Lol
  13. Well, I have to give you an lol at the "palm" - you are creative, I'll give you that
  14. That part is true. So it self-extinguishes before it burns through the bottom of the pillar. The part about the tab at the top "holding it" is not true. It just sticks out above the top two or three inches, doesn't serve any purpose - just gets cut off. :smiley2: And ets: I don't use a heat gun to level my pillars (to seal the hole up) - I use a small griddle.
  15. yes. The tab is cut off. It's more convenient for me to buy pre-tabbed wicks right now. But yeah, the tab is wasted. But I'm not the only one who does this.
  16. Ok, after you unmold your pillar you turn it upright (before you level it), stick the wick in from the top, stick it all the way out the bottom of the pillar, then pull it up a little, 1/4-1/2 inch, say. Then, when you level it, the hot wax will go up the hole and secure the wick. THEN, you trim the wick at the top, which means you will be cutting off the wick base and tab --- does that help? ets: I can give you a pic in the morn if you're not sure what I mean.
  17. Tabs in pillars to me ARE a safety issue - they let that pillar burn too close to the bottom of the candle - if I use pre-tabbed wicks, I actually insert them tab side up from the top of the candle, leaving the bottom of the wick about 1/4" or 1/2 inch from the bottom of the candle, and clip the tab off at the top so that the pillar will self-extinguish. Does that make sense?
  18. Jakalex (sp?) has done some cute things - can't remember if she's the only one in this section...
  19. Aha - I suck - I didn't even read the description!
  20. Ok, I admit it, I'm an ignoramus sometimes. A bubble bar is something you drop in the bath to make it bubble, not something you use like soap? Is that correct? TIA :undecided
  21. Why thank you! Did you ever burn that sucker? Imagine taking a bath w/this fabulous soap while burning the pillar....what a yummy smelling bathroom!
