  1. I learned a long time ago to stagger your pours, i.e., pour them every day or every few days or weeks along the way, so you always have something fun to test or burn for yourself. After you've been pouring for awhile, you won't get "antsy" for something to test or personally burn. It really works for me and it alleviates impatience to light something up before it's time
  2. Since we already have a very successful traveling vending business, and I already dip and sell a good amount of incense, I decided to add scented candles to our booths. I'm currently testing wicks, waxes, jars and pillars to come up with incense and earthy scented candles. Some people won't burn incense due to the smoke, so they may just like the scents in candles, instead. That way, our scent lovers have a choice. I have mentioned my intentions to several customers lately, to get their reaction...and if they were on the table this past weekend, I'm confident they would have sold.
  3. Not sure, but could it be because it's under the hair and skin fragrances that it costs so much? I've only bought their lotion base, and it was the best I've come across. I tend to buy nearer to me, though, to save on shipping. They're in Ohio, I'm in Arizona.
  4. I tried the eco 12 in a 3" diameter status jar, and it was too big. I made another candle and am waiting for it to cure so I can retest it. I also tried the eco 12 in a larger jar, 16 oz with a 3" diameter (has a small shoulder) and it's burning beautifully in that one. Only a small amount of soot and no mushrooming thus far, I'm currently burning it every day. Both candles I made had a very good scent throw. I really like this wax thus far. I'll be ordering more of it to play with when we relocate next week.
  5. Has anyone used Black Licorice fragrance oil in a candle? Which company did your oil come from, and did it smell like the candy? I want to make a black candle with black licorice. I was also wondering if anyone has used the Iced Tea FO? I have a sample, but haven't put it into wax yet.
  6. Does it have the Mastercard logo on it? You can always upgrade to the business Paypal card...that was what I did right off the bat. I don't think there's any cost to do that. Also, if you have limited funds in your Paypal account, and it's linked to your bank, you can still use Paypal and it will deduct the funds in that account, then revert the remaining balances to your checking. I also have mine linked. You may be able to do the entire thing online, or give them a call, they have excellent customer service. I hope this helps?
  7. The jars are beautiful. Can't you paint other jars just as gorgeous as this one?
  8. I agree with Candybee. Years back, when I first started playing with soy wax, I made a few candles in short, squatty heart shaped glass containers, and it was really hard to get all the wax to burn. Always left too much wax in the jar. Even though I triple wicked that bugger. I used them for personal use, until I turned them into candy dishes
  9. Yes, that would really tick me off! I guess you'd have to check each supplier beforehand to see if they ship to Canada. As a "former" online seller, I never refused a sale, thus I shipped worldwide . I've bought stuff with my Paypal card with any company, if it's entered as a credit card, works every time. They don't need to "accept Paypal" at all. It acts as a credit card if entered as such.
  10. Enter your Paypal cc# as a Mastercard, I never had a problem with it. It acts as a credit card if they don't accept Paypal. Have you tried this? In the drop down menu on the site, just click on the Mastercard logo and enter the card number. Should work just fine.
  11. The throw is fantastic with both, considering the amount of oil I used. The smaller one, Fruit Slices is throwing big! I purposely used less oil in the Frank n' Myrrh (which is absolutely dreamy from FC if you ask me), and it still throws pretty dang good. I LOVE the look of this wax, it's creamy and absolutely beautiful! Not a hint of frost, which was what was bugging me the most.
  12. That sounds like a good idea! I think I will get an assortment of the Eco wicks for use in other fragrances with this wax, it would be wise to have them on hand. Can't wait to get more of this wax, I only bought a 2 lb sample of it to try it out. I've got a bit of C3 soy left, but the frosting is driving me nuts! Almost everything I poured frosted up horribly!
  13. Keep 'em coming! Great pictures!
  14. Currently testing the ProBlend 600, they cured for two weeks and I've been burning two different size jars. One is a 4" tall status jar, 3" diameter. I used an Eco 12 in it and it's overwicked. Going to test it again with an Eco 10. The large 16 oz jar I poured, however, is burning beautifully! I feel like I hit a jackpot on this one! I wicked it with the Eco 12. I am burning this one off and on all day for a thorough test, and thus far, I can't believe how good it's burning! I used Frankincense & Myrrh (Flaming Candle) in the large jar, and Fruit Slices (Lone Star) in the short jar. The hot and cold throw are both good. I actually used a little less oil than usual in the large jar, and the standard amount of 6% in the shorter jar. This wax is awesome! The tops were both just so perfectly and beautifully smooth. Both adhered to the jars well, even though I did not heat the jars. No wet spots in either jar. The colors came out pastel, but a little richer/darker than straight C3 soy. The larger jar had a touch of pullaway, but not anything significant. It was already 93 degrees in here when I poured them, so that may be a factor. I think I'll order more of this wax to play with, I'm happy with the results thus far.
  15. I also do what Kandlekrazy does, soak in hot, soapy water and they'll come off clean.
  16. Thank you, Clear Black! I may need these if I plan on going back on Amazon, which I probably will some day. I never had a problem with the other site I used to use, but this site may be better!
  17. OH, I am just LOVING these booths! All so pretty and creative! Keep them coming! @Trappeur, I just love all the different jars you have, the crocks and those HUGE canning jars! Dang, pray tell, what type of wicks do you use to burn those big boys? Amazing! @Iansmomaya, that's a nice amount of inventory! Are the blue bottles room sprays, or lotions? That one inside a shop is a nice set up! Is that your shop, or is it an indoor set up? @Jackbenimble, so elegant! Love your set up! Tell me, do you have a problem with your candles melting in the heat? It is a concern with me, it's sometimes up to 107 degrees here. @Candybee, that's a really nice, professional looking booth! Love the bright red caps on your candle jars, they're eye catching! I'd probably walk up and buy! Can't WAIT to see more of these, I'd walk up and buy from every one of them!
  18. My goodness, these are just beautiful! I'd actually like to know how I can buy a few bars from you? Perhaps let me know what scents you have in stock? I like melon, citrus scents...and...oh, don't know...so many! I don't make soap, myself, but I sure do appreciate it and all the work that goes into it. PM me if you can mail them, I really do want a few bars. Soooo luxurious, I'd feel like a queen using them!
  19. Well, the season is upon us when everyone will be set free into the great outdoors! Time to set up your booths at the craft shows, art shows, farmer's markets, swap meets, marketplaces and flea markets! Post your booth pictures here so we can see all the fun! We did capture a new venue yesterday to do a show in a beautiful mountain setting farmer's market, and are so happy to be accepted! I'll post pics when we get there, leaving our current place on June 12. Although I don't have candles ready for shows yet, I do have booths, so I'll show you what I do have if you show me yours!
  20. What is your favorite Bamboo scent and where do you get it? I made a few candles with the Verbena Bamboo, and I like it. I also got samples of the Fresh Bamboo and Black Ginger & Bamboo from Flaming Candle. I wonder if any of these would work in incense, too. Anyone make incense with any of the bamboo scents? Just wondering on a balmy night in the desert
  21. This is how you start! Congratulations on a good day, and landing a potential wholesale account!
  22. This is a very good question, I was wondering if I could get jet black too! I want to make a black licorice scented candle.
  23. I think you're right....as a consumer, a mold line would not deter me from buying the candle. Not if I like it, and love the scent. I guess I was overthinking it. What's an embossing gun?
