  1. Stunning! Love your booth! It must have taken a while to get all of your inventory ready! That's a long haul, 19 days! Great to hear you had a strong opening day, that's always a good sign!
  2. This makes all the sense in the world. I'm going to now "underwick" the pyramids I've been pouring, they're still burning a bit too hot for my liking. I've now got the 21 ply, and that may just do the trick.
  3. Yes, I rather like the way the pyramid turned out. I had thought I got a good set before I poured the white, perhaps a thin layer of white....between the colors...set..then pour the white...is that what you mean?
  4. No, it colors them ivory, so the yellowing won't show. I've never kept them for an extended period of time, as I either burned them or sold them, so I don't know if the discoloring still happens over time.
  5. Hello! Welcome to CraftServer! Glad you joined
  6. YES, take notes so you know how to duplicate/modify your creations! I write down detailed notes about the wax, wick, oil, dyes I've used to get a certain effect....as well as how NOT to do something, LOL!
  7. I've also added Ivory dye chips to vanilla scents, they look nice, creamy and won't be looked upon as "discolored". I hope this helps?
  8. I like them quite a bit....love the fade that you got out of it...now you know how to get that cool effect! Shame you dropped the last one, dang it, love to see everyone's creations, keep up the good work, Mr. Dan....and don't be so hard on yourself...sometimes, our "mistakes" can turn out quite stunning!
  9. I don't know the answer to that, maybe someone who does know will come along and elaborate. I do think the humidity comes into play, which we have very little of. That would mean my wicks are VERY dry, as opposed to having humidity in the air. Same with our extreme heat. I would "think" the temperature of the air would also make a difference. Anyone? I know there are experts around here who know more than I do, but as I said, I keep having to down wick here in the arid desert.
  10. Forrest, I can relate to this...we live in a desert climate which is very dry most of the year, as well as very hot for about 6 months of the year. I keep down wicking, because they are burning like torches here in the desert! We get perhaps 2 1/2 months of moisture in the monsoon season, which is still on the "dry" side compared to the midwest or southern states...so I'm going to wick them for the "optimal time of year". Frustrating, to say the least. Talltayl, that's a lovely burn! I like the ceramic pot, too.
  11. Not failures...all pouring is a learning experience. I like both of these, they look good. If you don't like the finish, try rubbing away at it with a pair of pantyhose to fine tune or smooth out the finish. I like the color fade quite well. Was the bottom part supposed to be white, by chance? It seems to me that some of the dyes DO bleed, I just had that happen a few days ago with red. I thought I had let it set almost completely, but still got pink instead of white. Show us that third one, Mr. Dan, and keep on pouring!
  12. I love the pyramid, too! So far, my favorite one to make. I went for "rustic earthy" on this one, and I'm very happy about how it turned out. Kept rubbing ice cubes on the outside of the mold to get the entire candle to have that finish. Thanks to Pam W, she's the one who told me to do that
  13. Yes, I decided on simplicity, and a clear see through label for that very reason. I like that pumpkin spice...I'm curing it to burn in a few weeks. The cold throw is lovely, we'll see how it performs in wax.
  14. Yep, I like short and sweet names myself.
  15. Your labels are always soooo nice! How about "odor killer"? LOL!
  16. Thanks, Trappeur. I really wanted to turn out a red, white and blue...I could see it as I poured the white...that it was bleeding. I was hoping I'd get at least SOME white in there. Aw, well...maybe next time. Pouring another new one tonight in greens. We'll see how this one goes, lol.
  17. Here are a few pillars I did a few nights ago. The first one I scented in Egyptian Amber, with 3 dyes consisting of rust, sand and brown. The second one I'd consider a failure...I was going for red, white and blue, but the red bled into a pink instead. I thought I'd let it set long enough to separate the colors, but I guess not. I used Buttercream for the fragrance.
  18. I have been working on my prototypes for the small jar candles, and here they are. All done with Problend 600 wax. The large jar is a tester with Eco 12 wick and Pumpkin spice fragrance from Genwax.
  19. ...whole place smells reeeeally spicy! I like it! Poured a large jar with it....now to cure it 2 weeks and do a test burn. If you like spicy, give it a try, it's NOT mild or mellow pumpkin scent
  20. Here is my take on it...so many companies have the words "green" or "eco" in them. How about trying one of these: Earth Works Candles (or Candle Co.) Earth Light Candles Earth Walk Candles
  21. it's here! I like the scent, seems strong. Good name for it, a bit of pumpkin, and spices. So far, I like it. I'll pour it in some wax and see how it throws....
  22. Hello, nice to have you aboard!
  23. I just sent you a message.
  24. Yes, they don't have a huge selection of oils, I was browsing through it when I saw the sale, and for that price, I decided I'd give it a try. I'll report back here when I receive it, and let you all know if it passes the sniff test
