  1. Yep, old school cool...LOVE that! Aren't MrDan's owls cool? I remember that style... owls with the really big eyes...from way back when. I'd love to see a revival of some of that stuff, and some new ones, to boot Of course, I"d never burn those, lol!
  2. Yes, I did see that. I bought some lids from them, and a few tester oils. I really like their macintosh apple
  3. Nope, it's my first ever order with them. I figured I'd save money on jars and wax since they are only one state away. Figured if I like the scent, I'll have time to get it tested by October. If it's good, I'll consider ordering more scents from them in the future.
  4. I remember way back when testing a lot of the C3 soy over a double boiler, so it's not that big a deal to use it while I test wicks, etc. It will be fun to get a new toy when I do get the Presto
  5. Nice video, and I can't wait until I NEED the Presto Pot!
  6. I go by what I used to sell in the past, and start out by testing that particular company's scents. I used to buy a lot from Peak, but...well, not any more. SO, I buy the 1 oz testers, smell them, put one in wax...burn it..then if I like it, I'll go right back and get the lb size bottle if it's awesome. I'll also try MANY if the testers are on sale, gives me the opportunity to save a lot of money to at least smell them before buying a larger bottle. We well a lot of fragrance oils (roll-on body oils), I currently have about 300 scents. The way I built up that supply was by picking a lot of standard scents, then by asking my customers what they wanted, and I'd order it for them by the very next week. If those ended up not being a popular scent, I'd drop it and choose another. I also like to read these boards to see what the pros love
  7. They reopened as Peak Fragrance Oils: https://peakfragrances.com/
  8. Thanks! I wanted the paint just for dabs of colors if I find a good mold company...it would only be for things like eyeballs, snow on a Christmas tree...stuff like that. I totally lack artistic talent to actually "paint" them.
  9. Their sale price is just $10 per pound! I have never smelled it before, so I took a chance and ordered one for the upcoming fall sales. Has anyone tried their Pumpkin Spice? I needed to find a new larger jar, so I went there looking for those when I came across the sale price.
  10. They closed for a time, due to a divorce. Then, the man reopened selling fragrance oils only. FragranceBuddy also sells some dupes of Peak scents. I think someone else does, too..can't remember who it was. AFI also sells Peak dupes, but you must buy a minimum of 10 lbs. per order. I hope this helps?
  11. I would get that Presto Pot, Mr. Dan, much easier than the double boiler method (ask me how I know!). I think they run about $25 at WalMart. Once I get some more wick testing done, I'll go ahead and get one myself.
  12. Very nice! I love the orange! It looks like you're off to an excellent start! Welcome to the forum!
  13. You may want to wait...I got a message from Mr. Dan about this company not shipping the molds and having a bad reputation! I'm surfing ebay for the molds now....soooo disappointing!
  14. I was thinking along the line of the paint pens...not a paintbrush. I'm not very artistic in that sense. There are some on Amazon, but I don't know if you could burn them safely if they're painted?
  15. Thank you both so much. The reason I'm progressing is due to the mountain of help on how to do this from YOU guys! I'm grateful! I'm having a BALL!
  16. Does anyone use candle paint? I'd like to know which ones to buy before I waste money on the wrong ones. Can you burn them safely? What about the metallics paint? Ever use that stuff? Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge.
  17. You might want to putty Santa up again? Ya' never know, he could be good to go. That's probably why your stepdad kept them? Hard to say. Yep, I love that seahorse, and it would be a great conversation piece/show stopper for your booth.
  18. Holy MOLY! Those are big 'uns! I guess all you can do it see if they have any holes before pouring, it would be a great NIGHTMARE to have paraffin all over the place! I personally place molds inside a rectangular cake pan before pouring, that way, not as much to clean up a leak mess. Love that seahorse! Somebody get me a...BIB, I can't stop the drooling, LOL!
  19. Reminiscent of "my era" for sure! Did you see the parrot mold? I thought of you when I saw it, lol! I'd suppose you could have it ready by January. I also liked the monkeys, the alien and the big tiki head. Awesome stuff!
  20. Well, now I've "finally met you", Mr. Dan! BEWARE: This candle "thing" is highly addictive! So, welcome to the "madness!" You've come to the right place, so you can now stand up and state: "Hi, I'm Mr. Dan and I'm a candle addict"! Thanks for joining our "club", there are so many MASTER candle makers on here, you will be happy you joined! I know I am! By the way, there's a supplier near you and you can save a lot on shipping by ordering some of your supplies from them (in case you haven't been there yet). I've been getting my mottling pillar wax from them, good service every time. Here is the link: https://letitshineusa.com/candlewax.asp Good luck in your business, this is WAY too fun and relaxing...and....FRUSTRATING (at times) and a great endeavor indeed.
  21. I found you one at SavOnScents, here's the link, their dupes are quite good from the ones I've used: http://www.saveonscents.com/product_info.php/products_id/203859
  22. WOWZERS! Those are awesome! Yes, there are times I will display something that is a "show stopper" just to draw people in, and these will WORK! Since everyone is on the pot smoking "bandwagon" these days, I may get the pot leaf mold to put on the tables, lol! I will certainly let you know if they respond, and if they don't, I plan on calling them. They're one state over, so I think the molds would arrive quickly (faster than the wax, for sure, lol!) You have truly found a treasure trove of neat stuff!
  23. After searching and searching....and SEARCHING....I came to the conclusion that I want SIMPLICITY! So, this is the type of label I want to do, easy in my word program. I typed one out in a matter of minutes, so this was what I came across while surfing. It looks great on white paper, so I'll print them out on the clear that I have and voila, instant labels and more time to "create". I will post a picture when I get them printed. https://madebycreativelabel.com/clear-product-labels/clear-product-labels-bathsugars/
  24. I had ordered two other Clove scents from other companies, but they were inadequate. THIS one is....OMG....I don't know how long I can hold off burning it! I keep thinking about it, LOL! Guess I should get to pouring so I won't go light this bugger! Incense FLEW off my tables this past weekend, so I'd better get to ordering a lb. of this clove so I can introduce it asap! I need one wick size, as well...so that's my excuse to order again
  25. YES, I was reading about how they took over the Pourette molds. DANG, I want the one that's bigger, like yours! Perhaps I should inquire as to whether they have or are going to get the larger ones? UPDATE: I just emailed them, lol.
