  1. Wow! They all look so great! Now I want a cinnamon bun! The smaller ones are wax melts? I haven't ever made any of those before, but some day. I really love the look of the feather palm candles, the texture is so cool! I have a sack of the wax, but haven't gotten to it yet. Can't wait to try to make them, they're beautiful! Great job!
  2. It really does smell good, I'm finishing test burning this one right now, then going to get a smaller wick for it. Really big flame on this bad boy!
  3. Thanks so much, I'm glad you all like them. I had gotten the scent "Ocean Waves", so I thought I'd try to make it look "oceany" . David was asking me about making it look "wavy", and I know you can tilt them...somehow...to create this effect but I haven't gotten that far yet, lol.
  4. Dang, these soaps look like the Kilauea volcano! Rather timely creation, I'd say! Very, very cool soaps!
  5. Thank you, Pam. I sure had fun making these! The blue one took me a bit of time to pour compared to the green one (of course). I used 1274 mottling wax for both of these. The wicks are 24 flat braid. The green one bulged a bit towards the top when I burned it, so I need to HUG them (why not, I love them!) and decide if these wicks are going to be right. The other day, I did my first few parasoy (ProBlend 600) container pours, can't wait to see how those burn, they're curing in the bedroom...sure smells lovely in there, lol! I am not seeing one bit of frost on them, either, let's see how those babies burn. Now there's candles all over the motorhome, and it smells like a candle shop in here! Good thing David likes the scents too
  6. The base measures 4 inches across. With the 24 flat braid, I'm still getting quite a large flame, though, and it's burned almost all the way to the bottom. I was thinking of ordering the 21 flat braid, to test it again. I know this one is a pain to wick, however, I'm determined to get these on my tables some day. The more unique I can make them, the better they will sell with "my crowd". That was why I chose the more odd shapes. I'm still test burning a few of the round pillars, I think those will be very good also if I can continue to be creative with the rustic pours on those.
  7. Thanks. Since I'm totally new to pillar candles, I wasn't sure how a customer would see the seems. I know, seems like a small issue, but I've never sold pillars before.
  8. Ya' know, you're right! Now that I think about it, reminds me of amethyst, too! Maybe I'll get this wicked right by February for the Gem Show in Quartzsite? It would look good on my tables!
  9. So they won't really say anything? I was wondering if I should just leave them like that or not. Next investment will be the seamless molds, now that I know the difference
  10. It's the seam running down the side I'm trying to get rid of...I had bought round molds that have seams. Guess I do need to "go shopping" again for molds that don't have the seams. Good thing I only bought one round one, so now I know.
  11. Just about to pour the ProBlend, I'll update results.
  12. I used the 1274 mottling wax...it's the fatter pyramid. 30 flat braid would burn down the motorhome, lol!
  13. Hahahaha! I like "hot flash". I was lucky I only had them for about two years, pity those who have them for years on end! Yes, it depends on the venues you sell at...we do get kids and such, so I don't have risque type items. Some of the shows we do are county fairs, which is loaded with kids.
  14. So I tried a zinc wick 60-44-18, a 27 flat braid wick and then a 24 flat braid wick. I know I should be wicking for the center of the candle on this one, so here are the results: Zinc wick burned wildly at first with a very high flame, calmed down towards the middle of the burn, then seemed to do "fair" for the rest of the burn. 27 flat braid, wick too big, burned too wildly again, had a blow out...then calmed down "some" towards the center to the bottom 24 flat braid wick burned wild at first, then had a major blow out, then calmed down, but the flame was much too high. So, I'll now order the 21 flat braid and see what happens next. Has anyone wicked these pyramid candles successfully? If the 21 flat braid is still too wild, which would you suggest I try next? I really want this candle to work, I know my customers will love it.
  15. I like the Sultry or the Light My Fire....both are "suggestive", but not overly
  16. Hose? Panty hose? I haven't owned a pair of those things in probably 30 years, LOL! I guess I can find some in the dollar store when we go past it again. Not liking that, maybe I need the other molds then. How do you set these down and make them level? Is there a trick to that?
  17. All I have in here is a hair dryer....will that work??
  18. Yes, try Aliexpress. I have bought from there many times, and these are "onesies" if you want. Alibaba will want you to buy in quantity. I hope this helps? You may need to type in different keywords to get what you're looking for. I also just typed in "Oil Warmer". https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20180510175225&SearchText=tart+warmers
  19. Yes! The entire motorhome smells so good in here! Loved it when I was melting/mixing it
  20. So I made this one two nights ago. Scented in Lemongrass from Flaming Candle. I sure do like this scent! I used mottling wax, and poured most layers at 160, but I varied the temp here and there to see what kind of effect I would get. I used Maize and Aquamarine dye chips and 24 flat braid wick. Let's see how this one burns.
  21. Rats! Just tried to remove the seam with a butter knife, and it doesn't look too good. It's leaving a mark down the side. Maybe I do need that curved scraping tool? Would that leave a mark, too? I bought this one because it had the stand on the bottom, and would be more level. I only have the one round mold, since I'm mostly dabbling and testing wicks during the summer slow times. Sigh.
  22. It did seem a bit "mentholy" to me, which was why I was asking about it. I wasn't sure if I should use this oil straight. I rather like the scent, but it doesn't mean customers will. The lemon mix sounds dreamy though. Fresh.
  23. I do have two table knives in here...I will try one of those. Just scrape it down the side?
