  1. Does eucalyptus repel spiders? I know a lot of my customers ask for peppermint oil (which I don't currently sell) for spider control.
  2. The one I currently have is from The Flaming Candle. Smells very much like Vapo Rub. Ohhhh..hmm...lemon verbena...might just do it! I LOVE citrus scents! I wonder what that would smell like in a candle?
  3. Both of your favorite mixes sound good. Ever do just a straight eucalyptus? I like it, but not sure if customers will. I do like rosemary a lot.
  4. I have a bottle of this oil that I'd like to make a candle out of it. I do know it mixes well with spearmint, however, does anyone mix it with anything else? If so, what? Have you found that eucalyptus candles sell well, or am I wasting my time? I'd still make it for myself, but I was wondering how everyone else does with this scent?
  5. Nice to meet you, and welcome Branden
  6. I have a few zincs on hand, so I will try those 51-32-18 and 60-44-18. I also just got the eco 10 and 12 in this afternoon. I am single wicking the 3" status jars.
  7. I am leaning towards the 4636...I'd prefer a one pour if I can get it. Which wick should I start with in a 3" diameter jar?
  8. I do like the idea of the harder wax, it's already roasting here in the southwest, and the soy candles will probably melt down on me. Does the 4636 have good glass adhesion? Which wick do you recommend using or starting with? Oh, 3" diameter.
  9. Well, I got more mottling wax because I really like pillar candles, and I love the effect of the mottling when poured into cold containers. Still testing them constantly and the one I'm staring at now seems to be burning quite nicely, It's the pyramid, used the 24 ply wick in it. Smells like apple pie in here. Then, I did order more C3, however, I'd asked the board which paraffin works best in containers. Soy is a bit too bitchy for me, lol! Guess I need to order the container wax....and...well...can't resist adding a few more oils when I do order. After all, I'm a fragrance addict
  10. Does anyone know the difference between the 4630 and the 4636?
  11. Is the Palo Santo in a fragrance oil, or an essential oil?
  12. Okay, I did post a few more recently. Going to work on more this week, more mottling wax has arrived!
  13. Now that I think about it, the soy wax moodiness may be why I put pouring them away for a few years? As I rethink using the soy, my customers may not be concerned that they are not soy. Since I am going to enhance my incense sales by offering rustic pillar candles in the same scent genre (with a few bakeries and florals here and there) the paraffin containers may just work. I can always use the soy for our personal use, since we don't care if they frost and such, we just want SCENT
  14. Since I'm testing these "bitchy" soy candles/wicks (I want to throw them out of a fast moving vehicle!), I'd like to pour some "tame" compliant container paraffin wax. I'd like to ask you all what container paraffins you like to use? Which types of wicks burn well in a regular container wax? I'm going to keep with the 3" diameter status jar for now.
  15. The one on the left is a pyramid I'm still testing wicks on, not sure if I like this color, which is sand...but could use it to layer some more rustics with. I scented this one in Hot Apple Pie, because it's my dear David's favorite, so he'll enjoy burning this one. The one on the right was a "remelt" from the star candle I previously posted, I bashed it up and remelted and poured it. I was wondering if it would still "remottle", and what color it would end up, lol!
  16. I poured these over the last few days for testing wicks. First one is Honeydew Melon scented with aquamarine dye chips, second one is scented with Ocean Waves. We'll see how these wicks burn now that I've changed them out.
  17. I don't know anything about the dyes you mentioned above, but you may want to try this site for the diamond chips: https://letitshineusa.com/products.asp?cat=172
  18. Rats! I don't have anything that looks remotely like this in the toolbox or silverware drawer.
  19. So, I've made two round mold pillar candles in the last few days, but I guess I hadn't thought about the seams going down the sides when I bought these molds. How do I smooth these out without affecting the look of the candles?
  20. Egged you on, did I? Heh heh...
  21. The ProBlend arrived, now I'm just waiting on wicks to test it with. Did you get any frosting with the ProBlend? C3 is SO finicky, and I hate it when it frosts.
  22. Hmm....maybe not one I'd personally like...but some of my incense people might. I remember making a ton of Opium incense....didn't like the scent, personally.
  23. I did place an order, and tossed in a few oils. I like the scents you mentioned, Sarah! I like those types of scents, too! When I reorder, I'll certainly get that Egyptian Amber, and DANG, I was looking at that one and didn't choose it! What kind of scent is the Carribean Teakwood and the Oakmoss n' Amber?
  24. C'mon, Pam...POUR IT! Just made a new candle last night, so I'll post it later today. Was in Urgent Care a few days ago, so I haven't been here much, battling horrendous pain due to stomach ulcers since last Sept., they're a real pain to heal! Would I be able to do a "tie dye" or "marble" effect using the dye chips? That's all I currently have in here.
