  1. that looks great! if you dont mind me asking what kind of agreement do you have with the store that you are in? (assuming you are in a store) Is it consignment? monthy rent? or a % of sales? do you make a good amount of sales with your booth?
  2. what about naming volcano after a specific volcano like some Hawaiian volcano? like Maunaloa or Kilauea?
  3. I just got CS blueberry cobbler and it has a really good cold throw but I just poured it the other day so I am waiting for it to cure so I'm not sure how the hot throw will be yet. I don't know about gel.
  4. Lingonberries are good, they are similar to cranberries if i remember correctly(and the plant species are actually related). I had the jam once, it was yummy. I think i am going to order that scent!
  5. 1) is that a fragrance you found? it sounds amazing. 2) Lingonberries are harvested mostly in the fall so maybe Scandinavian Fall , i thought scandinavian summer sounded better but from looking online first its a small harvest of the berries in the summer. They make Lingonberry Jam - using that may be tricky because it would be a food product that comes in a jar. what about Lingonberry Harvest? Where did you get this scent? Cornell info on Lingonberries http://www.fruit.cornell.edu/berry/production/pdfs/Lingonberries.pdf
  6. CS lavender just came in the mail today and even in the bottle it smells great. I can't wait to try it.
  7. I use CS very vanilla and have not had issues with it, I do usually add it in when the wax is 185-175 so that maybe what it is.
  8. ohh i forgot another one of my favorite scents is Grandma's Kitchen - NG its so good.
  9. There is a small candle company not too far from me that has their brick and mortar store and work space in an old mill, I think that would be my ideal work space.
  10. Thats good to hear, i am looking forward to testing it out
  11. Thank you everyone, I think i will print my own labels so that i can make changes when i need to. I might order some nice stickers with my design on it for packaging. Do you order a large roll of the candle warning labels? or print those yourself?
  12. I just purchased Eucalyptus Spearmint from EBB and was wondering if any of you like this scent. I have never even smelled Eucalyptus with spearmint before (i dont think). I got a request for a eucalyptus scent and CS didnt have any and I was buying the Honey Patch from EBB anyway so I got an OZ of this. does it have a strong eucalyptus scent to it? or is it more spearmint or even split. if you sell it is it a big hit?
  13. I know that I personally trim my wicks shorter than 1/4 th ( any candle brand) and I think its for the reason you stated to reduce the amount the flame dances. I don't have any specific suggestions for your candle though, maybe do the two wicks in the wax that has the best throw since you don't seem to be noticing a difference? I know I have bought many candles that the flames move more than I would like. Maybe someone else has other suggestions for you.
  14. She was referring to if we want out final products to be vegan ( which didn't ask about jus the cruelty aspect) vegans wont eat or use any animal products/ anthing made by animals. paraffin is made out of/has animal fat in it I believe, and bees wax is taken from the bees and vegans don't want any animal by products. Edited: Looked up paraffin wax and Wikipedia says that paraffin is a oil based/ petroleum product which basically comes back to animals because oil is from fossils/ animal/ plant decay. And if the vegan really wants to take it that far they may as well not buy any candles or drive cars because transportation is run buy oil and gas...
  15. I asked candle science because I was curious, they responded right away. Here is their response: CandleScience Support (CandleScience Support) Feb 25, 9:25 AM Good morning, Brigit: Thank you for sending along your question! All of our soy waxes and fragrances are considered vegan-friendly, and none of our products have been tested on animals. If you're looking at some of the other products we carry, you may want to avoid paraffin, beeswax, and dyes (many of which have a paraffin base). I hope this information helps! Let us know if you have additional questions. All the best, Shelley CandleScience Support
  16. do most of you buy labels that are printed for you by a larger company or print them your selves? i have a really nice canon pixma 9000 Pro mark II printer so i can print them my self and I do think that would be the cheaper route for me since I will be doing smaller batches and cant afford to spend lots of money on stickers and then have them sit around. But at the same time the idea of sending in an image and getting them printed sounds nice. I found Frontier Labels and they seem to do really nice work, i have some free samples coming. Questions: 1) if you print them your selves where do you buy nice quality printable labels (i like thicker paper/ kraft paper labels) 2) if you pay a company to print them for you who do you use? which labels do you get printed? i.e. jar labels or stickers to put on boxes etc.. Suggestions welcome, i would love to find out what you do for your products.
  17. Thought that i would share a site i found in case any of you were looking. they have marble and copper vessels for candles! they are exactly what i was hoping to find. maybe eventually i can make an order. They are from Australia, and do use paypal but the way that the website is set up it doesn't allow you to link to paypal from the US although they do ship to the US ( i couldn't get it to work for me). I emailed and got an immediate response saying to email them with what I wanted to order and they would send an invoice to pay. https://luxurycandlesupplies.com/
  18. Thank you so much for your suggestions! The dollar tree is a good idea. I don't really need thousands of them, I could find good prices I would maybe get 100. All of your suggestions will be great places to look, I was hoping that I could find some that were less than $9 a piece at the craft stores. Thanks again!
  19. Just got this reply from Kringle about the men's line scents "Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, some of our scents in the Men's line have been brought back and renamed and introduced into our classic line of fragranced candles. Sorry to say NO.11 was not one of them. No.1 is Secrets, No.4 is Slate, No.9 is Archives, No.10 is Aqua and No.13 is Midnight. I hope this is helpful. Best Regards" Now I just need to try to smell them
  20. I was wondering if any of you know where to find ceramic vessels/jars in bulk? I have seen lots of candles being sold in stores like tjmaxx or home goods in ceramic jars or fancy glass jars/votives. I just found a really cute votive holder at Michaels for $9 that I am going to make a candle for myself with ( its extremely thick glass) but was wondering if there were any supply companies that sold decorative containers in larger quantities for less than retail. Thanks ?
  21. Belinda I will certainly let you know if I am able to find any. They also had beautiful jars and labels I will need to post a picture for you.
  22. Kringle Candle from MA used to have this amazing line of masculine scents, the only scent i was able to get was their #11. have any of you heard of this line and know of duplicates of the scents? i feel like i might have to buy some of the wax tarts i found on ebay to dup the scents. any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  23. That's very unfortunate that they do that - its very disingenuous. i have been looking at their FOs for a while and didnt order any because i had bought afew fos from other suppliers that didnt work for me so i was nervous to spend money on them... But they have so many FOs that are tempting to me.
