  1. I saw this picture of a pillar on Etsy. There are lots of ways you can package pillars, but I like this. What I can't tell from the picture is this: If this is some sort of paper "wrap" that glues to itself in the back, does anyone know a source? If this is a stick on label, what kind of label would you use that would adhere to wax, but still be removable without damaging the appearance of the the candle? I could use either method.
  2. Has anyone tried Inkscape to create their labels? You can get a free download here. https://laserinkjetlabels.com/pages/label-design-software/ I got it to play around with but I wanted to see if anyone here uses it and can give some opinions.
  3. So I've noticed businesses claiming they have copyrighted the scent names of their products...is that a smart thing to do? How do you go about that and does that mean no one else is allowed to use that specific name? How do I look up this up to avoid causing issues with other local vendors? Also what do you guys suggest for designing your own logo?If it's made on a build your own site or app is it ok to use or should it be trademarked...and best label making process (a way to be able to edit different scent names). Sorry for the newbie questions:)
  4. Hi, does anyone have a suggestion for labels to use on mini nail polish bottles? Thanks!
  5. Hi everyone, I have a problem with my candle labels. They smudge easily. I can apply them very carefully to avoid the smudge, but I think it will be a problem on the consumer end. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a way to solve it? I'm using gloss ink jet labels. If I can solve this issue I'll be ready to start selling. Thanks to anyone who can give me advice!
  6. What kind of paper do you all recommend for making my own labels. So far I have been using stick on Avery label sheets that I create from scratch. I have seen some photos here where the label paper is of a shiny material. What do you suggest to use other than Avery shipping, or mailing labels? Thanks
  7. How do you create a label with a photo. do you use a special app or are there programs on avery labels etc. i want something different than the generic photos they offer on avery. btw i have a mac computer - still don't know all the ins + outs of it though lol ! thank you in advance
  8. do most of you buy labels that are printed for you by a larger company or print them your selves? i have a really nice canon pixma 9000 Pro mark II printer so i can print them my self and I do think that would be the cheaper route for me since I will be doing smaller batches and cant afford to spend lots of money on stickers and then have them sit around. But at the same time the idea of sending in an image and getting them printed sounds nice. I found Frontier Labels and they seem to do really nice work, i have some free samples coming. Questions: 1) if you print them your selves where do you buy nice quality printable labels (i like thicker paper/ kraft paper labels) 2) if you pay a company to print them for you who do you use? which labels do you get printed? i.e. jar labels or stickers to put on boxes etc.. Suggestions welcome, i would love to find out what you do for your products.
  9. I would like to design and print my own candle labels from home. I understand the importance of a quality label for selling purposes. Questions are... Where can I get label templates for semi-complex labels? Are people just using Microsoft word label templates? Is this "Maestro" I read about the way to go? Or is it worth it to use a company like Zazzle, which seems expensive? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm obviously new to this.
