  1. i just wanted to pop in and say that for that jar I have been using eco 10 with GB 444 wax ( i am even thinking that I may drop some scents down to eco 8s)
  2. I was more curious if there was some additive out there that I was missing since this company uses essential oils in their candles and also claims they are "oder eliminating" I will check your out suggestions, I just want really looking for a super fruit loopy sent. Flamingos lemon sounds good
  3. So I found some candles that are marketing to post owners and claim to. Deodorize the air the way febreeze does. I have smelled the candles and they just smell like the scent they are supposed to be such as lavender, they are stating that they have a deodorizing additive. Does anyone know of an uncented deodorizer that actually works? I would want to start making tins of deodorizing candles and do a pet deodorizing line ( of course warn about birds because I know that candles can potentially cause issues for birds) The deodorizing oils I have found seem like they are already scented ( like citrus fragrances), I found on at NG but that seemed to have a scent based on the reviews.
  4. From what I understand when you print with an inkjet printer the ink is absorbed in the paper It won't sit on top. Even other colors in inkjet printers aren't opaque and also most likely won't show up on the black because it's still being absorbed into the paper. You can attempt to find opaque ink. Or I bet you can get them printed from a professional printer.
  5. My next order will be from flaming and I am going to try an early grey mix :-) Is there a way to make it sweet or creamy? Starbucks makes a London fog latte and it's Earl grey with milk foam on top. I think that would be a neat candle.
  6. Good to know, everyone on the Facebook seemed so think they were all great and "best sellers". I knew I had a better chance at getting a true opinion on their scents from you guys.
  7. I asked what people suggested on the MS Facebook group and there were alot of votes for cucumber and sea salt
  8. Any up dates on scents for Maple Street? Has anyone found a must have? I want to place a order because everyone raves about thier scents on their Facebook group. And I wanted to add them as a supplier due to their location and variety of scents. Right now I have: blonde moment, pink sugar, lavender patch, cherry blossom, and bergamot tobacco. I am also looking for a fruity floral scent
  9. Love them! How Would are you printing them?
  10. I like Birch bark, or beachwood. What about Birch Forest? Or Northern Forest?
  11. Do you know how many oz they are? You could sell them as sets, I could see people buying them assuming they are around 2oz. How big is a normal votive candle? I would think that would be their competitors. They look cute,I have no clue where you would buy those. my big concern would be getting those jars at a low enough price to make money on them. You always have great ideas.
  12. Has anyone smelled Yankees market blossom scent? I've added the description. If you have any suggestions on similar scents, or possibly good scents that I could possibly mix? All so any good suggestions on a clean scent? I already have CS -English garden, lavender and lilac but would like something a little different. Any suggestions would be great, there are already some good ones on this thread.
  13. I agree with others on the fragrance load. I use GB 444 and max I have used 1.5oz per pound. You may find you dont need to use that much FO and save yourself some money by reducing it. Also along with what talltayl said I use the eco wicks in my GB soy and for most of my fragrances CSs suggestion over wick my candles and they burn too hot. Takes some trial and error to get it all down, but your pour looks nice. I love that the jars you got come with cork tops, I was looking at them for a while but don't have a need to buy jars right now.
  14. fantastic! i think i paid over $500 last year, i know mine is going to be up soon i'll need to look into this. I didnt realize they would cover candles when i first looked at them
  15. i feel like it has more to do with the amount of fragrance and dye that they use each batch, I have seen variations. one batch will be a solid rich color and then the next batch of the same fragrance will have that mottled look. It also varies from scent to scent as well within Yanks line of jar candles.
  16. Yankee states that the traditional candles are "Each is made in America with premium-grade paraffin of the finest quality ingredients from around the world. " I've never heard of them being a blend but i suppose they could be, but i feel like if they were Yankee would advertise that. the colors could be from the way that they add their fragrance and colors?
  17. i wonder if your best bet is to try to copy the blend, the description of it doesn't sound like its super complex but i have never smelled it. decription: pear, apple cider & spice. fyi i love their jars!
  18. My best selling on is the 8oz square mason jar that I sell for $12.50. I have larger jars that are actually priced cheaper per oz but they tend to sit, they definitely sell slower. The 22oz hobnail jars I sell for $30- I may drop the price of them down to $25 I really want them to be my signature jar so clearly I'll need to adjust my pricing to get them to sell. Right now I don't have anything smaller than the 8oz but I think I'm going to try the 4oz mason jars that CS just listed.
  19. also if you look there are suppliers that sell the wooden lids that you are talking about. you can add the lids to whatever jar you wanted you just need to measure the openings. I cant remember any specific companies right now but i know that i have seen them
  20. talltayl- thats what i do, usually if i add in my wax and scents and just do one big order the shipping cost isnt too bad with all of the stuff im getting in return. especially if i do the 50lbs of wax, i havent really ever spent more than $50 bucks on shipping, usually its closer to $40. But i am on the east coast and thats why i use them as my major supplier. I ordered only jars and tops from Fillmore one time and it was kind of a wash when it came down to price per jar since i ended up paying more on shipping. At .39 cents a jar (or whatever it was) i would say its pricey for only 4oz container but i feel like i can sell it for a good price in my market. might not be the 4xs my cost i get with my 8oz jars but i could see selling more of them where i am. they might be a good intro for new customers who dont know about my candles but want to try one.
  21. try www.glassnow.com and also if you can handle paying the shipping i have ordered from Luxury candle supplies ( https://luxurycandlesupplies.com.au/) before and they have really nice stuff but the shipping is just too much for me to justify being all the way on the east coast and they are coming from Australia.
  22. I saw those too! They match the 8oz ones I carry.
  23. There are multiple ways to cut the glass, they make tools to score them and you can also do rubbing alcohol on twin and lighting it on fire to weaken the glass then cooling it quickly to break it off. But all of the diy ways would leave it rough if you don't polish them. I used to blow glass and we had grinding wheels that ground the glass smoothly so you don't get cut, but I expect that even used ones would get pricey unless you decide to go all in. You could look up a local glass blowing studio, many times you can rent studio time/ cold working studio time where they probably have the tools you need to get smooth edges and even tool to cut without compromising the glass. might even have cold working classes or possibly lamp working courses to melt the edges instead of grinding it smooth. You could also add an additional warning when you sell them, I would look to see if re-wined has additional warnings due to the glass to see if its something they do.
  24. I saw this on the news, I would assume that they tested them before going into production. I'm guessing once producing large quantities of the glasses the quality must have gone down. Also what I heard on the news they were getting recalled because of people cutting their hands on the edges not specifically the breaking of the candle being a fire risk.
  25. Wow! You are so busy!! I like #2 with the yellow star the best
