  1. I feel so bad for you! I can't imagine getting an order ready and finding a problem with the candles. Hopefully, you will find a solution soon. Goldie
  2. Maple Street clamshell prices do not make sense. It is cheaper to buy 2-50 packs than 1-100? When not on sale, it is even higher. Help me understand, please. Goldie
  3. Are these soy? No frosting? Goldie
  4. I like #1 as well. Name stands out more. Those jars are gorgeous. No problem with the price either. Goldie
  5. Revisiting this thread as I may start pouring clam shells and looking for a source. Reading reviews on a number of candle supply websites, leaking seems to be a problem for some. Is there a "best" clam shell to buy as far as leaking is concerned? Goldie
  6. Thanks to KrisS for directing me to ASTM Candle Safety information. I found a good summation here: http://www.astm.org/SNEWS/MARCH_2003/becker_mar03.html Goldie
  7. Funny you should say that. I was thinking of having a holiday "limited edition" each year, not to be repeated next holiday. May have to do that with what I have left from Tennessee. Goldie
  8. Iced Lemon Biscotti is a favorite of mine as well many customers. One person realized that she had no Asian ladybugs in her house this year due to having the lemon tarts melting in a warmer. For those living more in the country, they can get really bad around here as they had in the past for her. I won't even try another lemon; don't need to. Goldie
  9. What a great idea! I should try that with soy. Goldie
  10. Getting ready to place another RE order. Did you test the pineapple & brown sugar from Rustic Escentuals? Smells so good OOB. As far as Bonfire Bliss is concerned, I know it is one of RE's top sellers most months, but I don't care for it OOB so haven't tested it. Goldie
  11. I never thought of this. I wonder if they are true mercury. . . I've written JoAnne Fabrics asking for more information from manufacturer. Thanks Goldie
  12. The paint is on the outside of the jar. In my test burns of 9 hours, I haven't smelled anything but the candle. In researching this, I found a discussin by one of the more popular candle supply companies (can't remember which one right now). That company said anything can crack or explode including candle-safe jars. Soooo, for now, I am looking into product liability insurance for ALL my candle jars. Goldie
  13. Yes, I've tested one of them for nine hours at a time with no problem. Thanks. Goldie
  14. Does this glitter dissolve in water? Goldie
  15. Well I waited a bit over three weeks to cure and am getting hardly any hot throw from the Nature's Garden Butter Brickle. I used pint jars, 464 wax, 785 Premier wick, 7% fragrance. I may try some tarts at 10% just to use up the bottle. Goldie
  16. You may remember seeing these mercury-type jars that I bought at JoAnne Fabrics. They are tagged "not food safe" so not to be used in canning. I have no idea if that has anything to do with heat associated with canning. I have been testing the one on the right for long stretches--9 hours at a time with nothing cracking, exploding, or getting too, too hot. Would you sell a candle in this jar that is NOT sold specifically for candles? Am I being too paranoid? The safer option would be to sell with a flowerpot votive, pictured on the left. My husband doesn't like that at all. Actually, he wants me to just sell the jars with tiny battery-operated lights in them. Sigh. . .trying to sell my candles, hon. Honest opinion, would you even consider either option? I know I can sell them with the battery-operated lights so no money lost. Goldie
  17. OMGosh, those are all beautiful. I need to start treating myself and pour a candle in some unique containers. The embeds really add to their elegance. Goldie
  18. Since I've seen oils sold by Rustic Escentuals that were formerly sold by another company, would it be wise for us to email RE asking if they would be interested in the codes? That is, if no one else on this board won't be buying them to resell. Goldie
  19. I've been resisting lighting it, hoping a longer cure time will make a difference. Goldie
  20. I want to make one called "Autumn Leaves". Not sure what that should smell like. I did get Rustic Escentuals Spiced Autumn Wreath and Falling Leaves but haven't put them in soy yet. Definitely not bakery to my nose. Their "Cedar, Sage, & Blackberry" gets good reviews; did you get that sample? Not necessarily for fall but at least it isn't another apple scent. Not sure why I didn't order that sample. . . Goldie
