  1. I like the upgrade! Goldie
  2. I switched to a blend of two waxes. My tarts are sold out of glass jars, and the glass would get messed up from the tarts which bothered me. Not sure how you could efficiently package them without this happening. Goldie
  3. I look forward to hearing what others have found to be great spring-summer scents as I am also starting to test my samples. So far, I get a really strong throw from Peak's Cucumber/Cantaloupe. It smells just like McCall's Honeydew to me which I use to always burn in the warmer months. Two others I tested, I couldn't stand the smell of--Daffodil and Lavender/Rose. Can't remember what company they are from. TruScent has a Iced Lemon Biscotti that I'm testing next. Goldie
  4. I also like #1 & #2. (GA. shouldn't have the "." ) I know, these aren't final; just caught that. Goldie
  5. OMGosh, I LOVE the barnwood look, rustic as well as painted! They look labor intensive, though. I probably would want to keep my cost for jar and lid to 20-25% of retail price. Right now, my cost for jar and lid is about 11%. Goldie
  6. I'm a bit confused by a few of your responses and want to make sure I'm understanding you: When you add your FO at 185 then stir for whatever amount of time, don't you wait until the wax cools down before pouring in your jar or mold? It sounds like some are pouring into final container as soon as they are done stirring in the FO. Certainly not saying that is wrong, just wondering. Goldie
  7. I use paint stir sticks, a different one for each scent. Mark the stick with scent name and reuse each time I pour so I keep scents from mixing. Probably not needed, but then I stir for full 2 minutes as well.
  8. I'm just happy if he puts the roll on the holder.
  9. I'm so glad you shared this great news. Always great to hear how others are doing. Goldie
  10. I ask stupid questions. How do I remove them? lol Goldie
  11. I LOVE McCall's Spiced Pear. Do any of these pear scents come close to this one? Goldie
  12. The shop I worked with kept the empty bottles from used essential oils in a small basket. Customers still get to smell them. Course, some of those disappeared once in awhile. If it were me, I would have a small plastic display box; either open at the back, or put upside down on the bottles, or locked. Can't sell the opened ones which is a big loss. Goldie
  13. There was a discussion on here about mixing solar salt and oils to package and sell. I was considering using that idea in small jars or votive holders for testers. Never got around to it this year. Probably could be put in some kind of unbreakable container although the oils might eat through plastic. Goldie
  14. How bad does the yellow look? If you can live with it, I would just turn them around so they yellow on the other side. I would worry the hot throw might be affected by the reheating, but then I am still a newbie at this. Goldie
  15. e911 asked: "So I am currently burning one now and it looks like the wax is "sweating" out the oils." Is this a result of frosting? I don't use any color but have seen this before even burning the candle. Goldie
  16. This is the product. Wonder, also, what it is exactly. http://candlemaking.com.au/index.php?route=blog/blog&blog_id=18
  17. Isn't it a characteristic of soy? Pulling away from glass as it cools. I see it in all the shop soy candles around here. Goldie
  18. Ha! Horrible, huh. . . lol Maybe the bride & groom will have a preference. Then you don't have to make the decision. Goldie
  19. LOL You said in your post "I'm only hitting the post button twice". :) Goldie
  20. Ok, as far as the beautiful wedding labels, I personally like the date on the second one even if you have to abbreviate November. I agree with you about the birch. Perhaps you could find something a little more realistic? Goldie
  21. Why are you hitting the post button twice? Goldie
  22. Oh my gosh, this is difficult. I love 1, 2, & 3. The addition of the black is nice with the black cap. Goldie
  23. Thanks, Steve. Hopefully, I dodged a bullet this time. Goldie
