  1. It has for sure changed! LOL! I think I would have to say Fragrance Buddy, Midwest Fragrance Co. and Flaming would probably be the top three now. I do still love NG, but their shipping is too high to me, CS, CW, and Aztec too though. I also like to order from Rustic and Lone Star so I can get wax and wicks. I'm not as crazy about RE's and LS's oils as I am others though.
  2. I agree with the above post. ICS does have some great oils. I would also add Apple Brown Betty, Bear claws, Frosted Sugar Cookie. Millcreek does too but I don't use them much at all. About the only thing I really love from them is their Oatmeal Cookie.

    Wax Drops

    You're exactly right!

    Wax Drops

It drives me crazy! 4625 alone doesn't smudge but it flakes and I can't stand that either LOL! It seems like it depends on the scents too because I have some shapes that never flake or smudge and then others in the same wax that will do one or the other at least a little bit. 4786 doesn't smudge much either. I don't know why it bothers me but it does.
  5. Their sugar cookie is great! I haven't used any of the other oils you have listed.
  6. Fragrance Buddy also has a good birthday cake. I also like the one from Peak which you can get at Keystone. I think fruit loops makes a good lemon cake also.
  7. Just Scent has a unicorn pop tart fragrance. I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for though. Maybe blend strawberry pound cake with buttercream frosting or cream brûlée? I'm not very good with blending.
  8. Their sugar cookie is great! I think that's the only one I can think of that I've used in wax so far.
  9. I've never ordered from them but was just wondering who all you've ordered from so far?
  10. Where do you order yours from? One more question, have you ever used 4786 and if so what are your thoughts on that wax? Thank you for your help.
  11. Do you think that mottling wax has as good a throw as the softer waxes like4630? I've been using 4786 which is hard in my opinion and I love it but I'm thinking of trying mottling wax. I live in southeast Texas so I really need a harder wax if I'm ever going to do shows that are outside. It can be hot here in December! We've been having 80 degree weather here for the last several days. Not that 80 degrees would be too hot but in the spring and summer it's brutal! I'm hoping it'll cool down soon.
  12. I don't heat my molds and the room I use to pour wax is the coldest in our house so the wax is probably cooling too fast maybe? I will try heating my molds next time!
  13. First let me say that I am so very sorry for the loss of your two children. My heart goes out to you and I pray God will continue to comfort you. As far as the wick question, I am not a very experienced candle maker but I have made a few with 6006 and I use zinc wicks with this wax. It may not be the recommended wick but it always works well for me. Also, maybe post this in the candle making section. You will probably get more advice. I would also test one or two at a time and not mass produce to test. That's just my opinion. I'm not really sure how other candle makers test theirs. I would pick one jar, a fragrance, wax and a wick size and go from there but there might be a better way. Hopefully some experienced chandlers will chime in.
  14. I'm with Barbara, I also love KY para/soy wax and you can get it from several suppliers like Flaming, Virginia, Just Scent and I think Bescented and a couple more. I love the ease of granular wax. The only thing I don't like about it is it leaves dimples when I pour it. Barbara gets a smooth top when she pours though. I need to take notes from her! LOL!
  15. I didn't or der from them. I ordered toasted marshmallow from FB and went ahead and placed an order for it from RE because I needed wax and like their granular wax so it wasn't so bad with shipping for all of that. The one from FB smells just like VBN to my nose so I'm thinking they got the bottle mixed up but it's nice.
  16. I just looked and it's back in stock. I hope you can get as much as you need. I did order some from FB and it smells really good. I haven't put it in wax yet though.
  17. I love it! It's not my style per say but I still love it! I think my favorite is the first one with blue. I don't think it looks too goth at all.
  18. I love the primitive look of making them in cans. In fact, I started making some in cans a few years ago. I wanted mine to look like A Primitive Glow's candles and yours look very similar. What type of wax do you use in them?
  19. Hello and welcome back! I visited your site and love the look of your candles! I'm into the primitive look too. Good to have you back with us! Looking forward to seeing you grow and sharing your knowledge with us along the way!
  20. I've never used 4786 in cups but have been making candles with it and I love the look of it! I do have to do a second pour though. I don't know why this wax isn't more popular. Please let us know what you think about the throw when you melt them. Oh, I also have to throw mine down over and over on the concrete to break it up. I've heard or read where if you put it in your freezer for a little while it'll break up easier. I haven't tried it yet though. For some reason the last batch I bought broke up really easy. I was pleasantly surprised about it.
  21. Where do you usually get your ink? I've been buying mine off of Amazon because I usually run out and don't have any spare ink and need it quick. I also had a canon pixma and it worked well for me for a long time!
  22. Personally I like my ink jet printer versus my laser jet. It could be the printer itself, not sure, but I know I can print the same label and to me the ones from my ink jet are more vibrant looking. Now to be honest, I bought my laser jet second hand and that could be the issue right there. The labels aren't bad at all and if I didn't have the other one to compare I probably wouldn't notice it. The big difference that I can see is the cost of the ink is quite a bit more for the laser jet but it lasts way longer than the ink jet ink does. I wish I was more help!
  23. The only downside I see to cups is storage, at least in my wax room. My husband put boards and hooks on the walls of an empty bedroom to hang clams on and now I'll use them to hang bags on. I have to store my portion cups in a drawer but I'm probably going to quit using them. I'll just use my molds for samples I guess. I've run out of room and am trying to downsize but it's not working LOL!
  24. The cups would be a cute idea I think. I never thought about using those in a bigger size for more tarts. I use the 2 ounce ones for samples.
  25. Where would you start with zinc wicks and paraffin wax with these jars? I was thinking the 51 size to start with. I'm having a hard time getting lids for apothecary jars so I guess I'll switch to these. I love the shape of them also.
