Hopie
Well, the season is upon us when everyone will be set free into the great outdoors! Time to set up your booths at the craft shows, art shows, farmer's markets, swap meets, marketplaces and flea markets! Post your booth pictures here so we can see all the fun! We did capture a new venue yesterday to do a show in a beautiful mountain setting farmer's market, and are so happy to be accepted! I'll post pics when we get there, leaving our current place on June 12. Although I don't have candles ready for shows yet, I do have booths, so I'll show you what I do have if you show me yours!
Jcandleattic
I don't do shows in the summer time. Nobody goes to indoor shows in the summer, and the weather here in the summer is just too unpredictable, so it's not worth it. And the weathermen here are no help because even though they are getting better, I would say they are still dead wrong probably at least 60-70% of the time. But yes, I would love to see other people's booths!
Trappeur
I believe I may have posted these pictures b/4....not sure, but I'll put some up again. I'm rather different than other people as I bring furniture with me and props and set up that way. The first couple of pictures are of a show in Maine I helped my sister with. Other pictures are here in Georgia. Trappeur Of course, I always had my little Bonnie with me at all shows..... This is me getting ready for the show. This is a collection I did of different size canning jars of which I tied burlap around the neck of the jars with a sprig of eucalyptis. These sold right away. iansmommaya
These are old and I've changed some, a lot, of stuff since they were taken. I'm changing things again. And I learned a Sunshine TON. for instance, the one with the red as the background? that space is 2.5 feet but the person next to me kept moving their stuff over so by the end I have ohhhhhhh 2 feet. I won't do a show like that again.

Well that wasn't fair! 2 1/2 feet sure isn't much to start with but you did a good job with the space you had to work with.
jackbenimble
This was my outdoor booth setup last spring and summer. It’s basically the same this year too. 7
Candybee
I don't have anything current but here are a few from May 2017 at a regular market I do on Saturdays. Head on shot here some shots from the sides close up of the front This is me. I am always looking like a wreck because I have hair that has its own mind and won't stay styled no matter what! I was 64 in this pic. This is an incentive to take some new photos once I realized I don't have anything current! I do 3 markets a week plus craft shows so I will try to remember to take some fresh pics! Edited May 26, 2018 by Candybee

I like your setup even if it isn't a current one. it would be fairly easy to find what i was looking for which is a plus for people like me with eyesight issues. It has been a while since i saw someone selling candles as a show or market but most of them have it setup weird around here so it is hard for me to even look at everything with my eyesight. Hopie
OH, I am just LOVING these booths! All so pretty and creative! Keep them coming! @Trappeur, I just love all the different jars you have, the crocks and those HUGE canning jars! Dang, pray tell, what type of wicks do you use to burn those big boys? Amazing! @Iansmomaya, that's a nice amount of inventory! Are the blue bottles room sprays, or lotions? That one inside a shop is a nice set up! Is that your shop, or is it an indoor set up? @Jackbenimble, so elegant! Love your set up! Tell me, do you have a problem with your candles melting in the heat? It is a concern with me, it's sometimes up to 107 degrees here. @Candybee, that's a really nice, professional looking booth! Love the bright red caps on your candle jars, they're eye catching! I'd probably walk up and buy! Can't WAIT to see more of these, I'd walk up and buy from every one of them!
GailC
@Candybee, very nice booths, and I love the red lids. Red is my favorite color so I would. I'm glad you posted a photo. It's nice to 'see' you. I hardly do shows, because I have an adult handicapped daughter that I care for at home, so it's hard for me to find someone to stay with her at times. Another daughter still lives at home, so she helps when she isn't working or doesn't have plans. It's such a job packing everything up and in the car and unpacking and setting up. Whew! I don't know how you do it. I did one show last year and took way too many candles. Took several dozen and think I sold 11 or so. But I did sell some melts. So I had a lot to take back home. I had help though. It was at my grandson's middle school and he enjoyed the whole experience. Also my 15 year old great nephew helped and he was quite the salesman. So the whole thing was worth it just because they had a good time. I mostly sell via Facebook, and I have one wholesale account plus one consignment account. I've changed several things, like I use table risers now and I have coordinating shelves for everything instead of vintage wine boxes and baskets and such. 2 hours ago, Hopie said: OH, I am just LOVING these booths! The most heat I’m in is upper 80’s and I ask for shade so my candles are fine.

Trappeur
Thankyou everyone. Marleigha, the smaller canning jar is a 16oz (pint) and I use a cd 10. The larger one is a 32oz jar and I use 1 cd20. Trappeur
Candybee
Trappeur-- who was your 4 legged helper snoozed out on the table? It doesn't look like the munchkin! Or is it?

Trappeur
No Candybee it isn't Munchkin....It's Trappeur....Now you know where my name came from..... Trappeur died a couple of years ago. He was waiting at the foot of my driveway for me to come home as he did daily and I would stop my truck, he would jump in and stand in my lap hanging out the window exactly as a dog would do and would stay there till we drove the length of the driveway to the house and then he would jump out and run to the door to be let in. One day as I got to my driveway he wasn't sitting there, but laying off the side of the driveway as someone had hit him.....I believe it was the UPS truck...He was the mascot for my shop, hence my business name, Trappeur's Lodge became and mine for the forum here. He went everywhere with me in my truck with Bonnie my dog...so it was always the 3 of us together. Trappeur 3

You must have loved that quirkiness about him! How sad he got hit. To carry his name on in your business and heart is a lovely tribute to him! Cats are so strange and quirky and THAT is what makes us laugh and love them so much!! LOL

Quentin
Thanks for sharing the picture. That gives me some idea about what to do at my first show. I really like those risers on the back of the table. Q
Hopie
The only thing I would change is the rug. Unless you can spike it down, don't use it. If a customer trips over that, you have a liability issue. Even if we're set up in the dirt/gravel, we don't use any type of flooring, as some of our customers are elderly, and a fall could cause a catastrophe.

Thank you so much though you are totally right. At today's FM I put the rug where I sit. to cover the backtop some, instead of where the customer is.
