You can't fix a weak FO. This is an SOS problem. There quality... Isn't. Simple as that. I use them but only when I need a rarer FO.

Anyone still looking...Gemlite has Fireplace. It's a YC dupe. It's not exactly Christmasy but that's how I plan on using it. They have a lot of Christmas fragrances too!

I believe they use a base of PG with a little Benzyl benzoate and Dioctyl adipate for fixation and to facilitate better mixing in a wider range of wax bases. The issue I have with them is quite simply over the years their product quality has gone down tremendously -- partly due to IFRA regs but I suspect mostly to save a buck or two. Strong FOs are a hard thing to source these days which is a shame because their Scent Library is truly amazing. I wish I could say the same for their FOs. Extreme Grade is best but you can still use SOS and Ultra in candles you just need to evaluate each scent as you would when trying any new supplier. Their Sniffee (3/4th dram of Extreme Grade FO) Samples program is a great option for trying their FOs without spending a fortune. I still use them on a regular basis but you really got to weed out the duds to find a great fragrance. They have a lot to offer.

I like Wellington's Campfire (burning woods). SOS has a good one called Firewood (burnt wood + soot) that smells uber realistic too.

I do a blend of Bamboo + Leather and it smells like crazy good cologne.

So I checked on this a little more and apparently both Twizzlers and RedVines are Strawberry-flavored. So by that logic, you're best bet would be to search for a strawberry FO. Black Licorice (the only true licorice, by name) is Anise flavored. If you're going to recreate the scent which I would suggest as you're chances of finding an exact match name are slim to none...I would suggest a Strawberry Muffin FO or Stawberry mixed with a hint, like a drop or two of Baked Bread for that starchy waxy note of the candy.

You can also mix it 5050 with Eucalyptus! Icy Pineapple

This may sound stupid but could you not just pour previously boiled ocean water into a shallow baking tray and cook the water out of it, like on a low temp setting; essentially dehydrating the water until nothing but salt remains? IDK?

Primitive Pumpkin .33 Honeycomb . 33 Pineapple .33 blend of Nutmeg + Pimento Keynote (All FOs from Save on Scents) It's very homey rustic aroma. It's not overly spicy and has a great sweetly pumpkin smell. I'll experiment tomorrow with a little tobacco FO and see what that does to it. But as is, it's steller!

Witnessed the mighty wiff of my Pumpkin creation I had melding together during a vacation I took. Walked in the door and was bombarded with Pumpkiny goodness. The blend is a combo of Honeycomb, Pimento, Nutmeg and Pineapple.

Although "green" in their respective aroma profiles, both "Cucumber" and "Fresh Cut Grass" can be used to impart that book smell when used VERY very (did I mention very) sparingly when paired with a vanilla-leathery aroma (Castoreum / suede). SOS's BOOK scents are fairly accurate but not pleasant to most and I know at least one that's a bit TOO "green". The reviews prove that. You're not going to have much luck finding a true Book smell. I would strongly recommend mixing your own. A soft leather fragrance would be a good starting point with a hint of a dry Maple, or possibly even an Oatmeal FO. SERIOUSLY! Add to that a DROP or two of FCG (old books) or Cucumber (new books) and you should be pretty close. The trick is to offset ANY green notes with a heavy dose of vanilla-leather. If you're going for a Library smell you'd likely want to use a Tobacco FO as mentioned previously by Ravens.

If it's a single color you can "sponge" stamp the paint on. They (whomever they are) also makes printable freshener blanks.

If you are talking about Red Vines or Twizlers those I think are cherry flavored.

I think Yank$$ had a "Man-candle" with this aroma. It was something like Sweaty socks, Dirty Laundry and all-around general "dorm-room" funk. Can't remember the name of the candle though.

I often get the hundreds of "Leaves" FOs scents mixed up... but in the one I use, I think I can detect notes of camphor, rosemary, maple, patch and cedarwood. It's kinda sweet but mostly earthy.

Has anyone tried the Tonka and Coriander? I suspect it will have a powdery scent but I'm not really sure. I might sample that one. I thought I'd try the Candied Apple FO until I read the description. It sounds more like a Caramel Apple. A traditional Candied Apple has a sour cherry glaze over a Macintosh apple. From the description this sounds more like a caramel/granny smith combo...which may be good. IDK?

@ Jfear You hit the nail on the head...smart move adding garlic. This scent is also one I created, but they did it a disservice by using too much eugenol (clove-like aroma chemical). A little of it imparts a dry musty warm metal smell a lot just makes it sweet and spicy. I tried to get them to reformulate it but too many customers had already ordered it to warrant a resub. Plus they wanted a more rounded fragrance verus something linear in aroma profile. In fact this is one of the big issues with FOs. Most fragrance oils, even the novelty ones, are not nearly as linear or "one-note" as I would personally like them to be. Back on topic, Garlic SOS in particular can offer those same metallic coper aromas and WOULD help in hiding the overused clove-like aspect. So smart move in adding it! For a truer copper metalic you'd probably want to start with a base of safranal or a Saffron EO BOTH of which are VERY expensive...and maybe pair it with a soft balsam, a piney aroma. Try hitting your Metallic Copper with a little Balsam (Christmas Tree aroma) and more Garlic. It should get you pretty close. BTW, sounds like our interests are similar. Shoot me a PM sometime we'll talk novetly fragrances!

Haven't tried their Gymsock FO but I would hope it doesn't smell like their Pretzel fragrance. Yikes. How do you alter a fragrance oil?
