  1. Nice layers and I love the bright red. Thanks for giving us the finger, too. LOL. Sorry, I couldn't resist!
  2. Lookin' good Judy. I love that shade of green, and the rustic effect is great.
  3. All I get from the link is a login page. There are a variety of free photo editing sites. I use IrfanView sometimes. It's a free download. www.irfanview.com
  4. Did you try a HTP93 or 104? The 104 would probably be the better choice. I use the 104's in that size container with J223. According to a chart I have, a CD10 and HTP83 are equivalent. Check this thread for the chart. Hope this helps. http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7746
  5. That's how I do it. My oven is used for storage of baking pans. I rarely use the oven or stove. My stove is a good place to set the Prestos since there's a range hood above it to get rid of FO fumes.
  6. Me too. I haven't had that happen yet. Of course if I wanted that look, I wouldn't be able to get it.
  7. It may not be dramatic for some, but imagine how somebody would feel if a jar full of hot wax shattered and spilled wax on an irreplaceable piece of antique furniture. Your pictures show everyone how important it is to test everything, no matter what the product may be.
  8. I don't think that's possible.LOL. Congratulations for another successful show.
  9. Glad I could help. I think Alan posted a chart like this on the old board. I keep alot of notes and copied that chart.
  10. Here's a chart that I copied from somewhere. HTP----CD Hope this helps you out.:smiley2: 31-----4 41-----5 52-----6 62-----7 73-----8 83-----10 93-----12 104----14 105----16 126----18 1212---20 1313---22
  11. Peak has two straight paraffin pillar waxes listed. I think Jc is referring to the 140, since the other one is listed as high mp. Nice rustics- I especially like the blue ones.
  12. Stearic makes a nice white color. The Rose pillars I posted in the gallery a week or so ago are an example.
  13. I've had a few that were singing "Candles In The Wind". No, not really. Some pillars I made with Vybar and Hyacinth scent were making hissing and groaning noises though. I know there wasn't any water in the wax. I'm thinking there were tiny bubbles of FO that didn't get dissolved, or something with the dye. It only happened with light blue candles :undecided . Had some trouble getting this scent to mix with 1343 (6% FO) at times. Don't have any problems with 4045H. I wanted to bring up this subject a while ago but didn't want people to think I'm crazy. Of course, you probably think I am anyway . LOL.
  14. We must be thinking alike. That's what I was going to type! All of them are beautiful.
  15. Yeah, I know it's alot. A neighbor requested these and wanted them very strong. They burn fine with this much FO. I usually use 6%.
  16. They're made with 4045H, 3 tbs/lb of stearic, and scented Peak's Rose. No sweating with 9% FO.
  17. I prefer the concave top molds. Sorry, can't help you out with wax suggestions- I live on the east coast. I use wick pins and the wicks are always perfectly centered. I made some things out of metal to keep the pin centered on the open end of the mold. I don't use wick tabs on pillars. When I level a candle in a Presto Pot, the wax holds the wick in place after it cools.
  18. Very nice colors and layers. That candle matches my '73 Camaro- yellow with red and orange stripes.
  19. Maybe Gingerbread or Grandma's Swingin' Eggnog?
  20. It will weigh the same whether it's melted or not. Only thing that changes is the volume.
  21. Didn't want to end up with a plain green triangle, so I poured a little wax in, tipped it a few times, and repeated until it was full. Thanks everybody. I didn't know of it would work, so I tried. Probably won't be able to duplicate it. I might try again once the Christmas Tree FO gets here.
  22. In case you haven't heard this before,LOL- they are beautiful.
  23. I got this idea the other evening and decided to try it. Made with left over 1343 and tilting the mold. It's unscented, but if I would have had some Spruce Christmas Tree FO, I would have used it. Too bad there's a glare from the flash-had to use it since it's been gloomy here lately. No matter what I tried, it showed up. The glare hides the tree trunk a little.
  24. Beautiful candles. I've been using the 4045H too. I like it more than the 1343.
