  1. Plumber's putty is all I use, and it can be reused many times. I keep using the same blob on each wick pin until it starts to harden, then it gets thrown away. Haven't had any leaks yet.
  2. Is this the one? I had it saved in my favorites. http://www.candlewic.com/candle-wicks/pop-spools.asp
  3. More beauties from the "rustic making machine" . Excellent colors for the scent.
  4. Very, very nice! The rustic effect is excellent. I've been thinking about trying the 4045H since I'm getting low on 1343, and it would be relatively cheap to ship to my house.
  5. You didn't miss much! LOL. The colors didn't turn out as planned. After posting it, I thought to myself " what were you thinking?" Thanks everybody:cheesy2:
  6. They're all beautiful, but I really like the colors in the second one.
  7. I posted a pic of a pillar similar to this one last week, but had it deleted. I wasn't happy with the colors, so I chopped it up and tried again. Made with 1343 and scented Cornucopia.
  8. Nice rustic effect. They would look good in my living room.
  9. Nice pillars! The color combination is great.
  10. Thanks everybody. It really wasn't too difficult, but it was time consuming. I mixed up the different colors of wax ahead of time, poured it into small plastic cups, then melted each color wax as needed. To get the different colors where desired, I poked each layer (while the wax was still soft) with a spoon handle to make the design and poured the next layer.
  11. Thanks-you should have seen it before I "adjusted" it with the heat gun.LOL
  12. Made with 1343. You're probably thinking the scent is Mountain Lake, but it's not-didn't have any of that scent. It's Honeysuckle. I don't worry if the color matches the scent.
  13. I have some acrylic molds, and the candles release easily. You do have to be careful with fragrance oils. The plastic can get discolored and softened if you make scented candles with them. I prefer aluminum molds though.
  14. I have some containers that were made over a year ago (with J223) and haven't had any problems with scent or color separation. Some are marbled, and some have color swirls in them. I usually use 1 oz. of scent/lb. Just a thought- you might be adding too much scent. The scent oil could be dissolving the color causing it to migrate. Maybe one of the experts can help.
  15. Yes, it is very strong. 1 oz/lb. is more than enough- it'll clear out your sinuses. Hyacinth is strong too.
  16. I've made some molded and dipped tapers with 1343 and 5-10% stearic. I overdip them with 156* wax and they don't drip. I use 15 ply flat braid wick. Never made any scented ones though. They wouldn't have much scent throw since the melt pool is so small.
  17. Wow! Those are beautiful. Nice display, too. Looks like I should start drinking since dinking isn't helping me make anything decent.
  18. Peaks Cornucopia is one of my favorites. The Amish Harvest is great too-very strong.
  19. I bought a used one on Ebay a while ago. It's metal and can make six at a time. Mathews Wire Inc. has new ones listed in their Ebay store.
  20. Add my name to the growing list of admirers. Love the colors. They certainly took alot of creativity and patience.
  21. Wow! The layering and colors are excellent. Glad to see all of the pictures in the gallery. I've seemed to have lost my creativity-especially since I've been engrossed in Joy's pond/stream project.
  22. More beauties from the pillar expert!
  23. Great layering and colors. Yellow is my favorite color.
