  1. Made with Shea Butter. purple shell- Warm Vanilla Sugar green shell- White Tea & Ginger Other soaps are scented Honeysuckle. I lightly marbled two of them (green and purple rectangles) although it's kind of hard to see in the picture. I think it's time to get a better camera lol. Click the pic to enlarge.
  2. Here's the picture-I forgot to post it. lol *Can a mod add this picture to my original post?* I had a brain fart lol
  3. Just got this mold the other day. This originally started out as a multi color pillar but it didn't stay together (poured some of the layers too cool) so I melted it down and made it one color. 4045H wax and scented Botanical Orchard and Nectar from Peak.
  4. She said I already have her spoiled Yeah, you should try some. It would be easier with a clear mold so you can see what the heck is going on but heat guns and clear molds don't always mix. I've done it before but you have to be very careful.
  5. Ditto. Peak's is very strong and smells good (to me) too.
  6. Yes, the wax is uncolored. After pouring I drip some dye on top then heat the mold with a heat gun and the convection currents cause the dye to swirl around, then I immediately put in a water bath. It's kind of hit or miss what you'll end up with lol. I like that scent and so does my girlfriend. I might give this one to her if she asks nicely
  7. I haven't made any of these for a long time so I figured what the heck. They're fun to make and I was in the mood for something different. Chunks and overpour (4045H) are both uncolored but scented with Peak's Maryjane. Click pic to enlarge.
  8. It was lots of fun and she enjoyed it. We made a few jar candles and four bars of soap. She had tried making candles with craft store supplies before and that didn't go so good. A thorough investigation and body search has been performed and all is well. :lipsrseal
  9. Could it be "candle nose"? Maybe you got used to the scent. I switch what scents I burn every few days since it seems like I get used to them. When I light up a different scent then I can smell it again. For instance- I had some candles burning when my date showed up last weekend and she said she could smell them as soon as the door was opened, but I couldn't smell them. Something to think about.
  10. Thank you. You'll love it! Is there a SA? Soaper's Anonymous
  11. Yep, she's coming back. We're going to make some candles and soap on Saturday. She is interested in seeing how they're made. How many people can say that part of their second date was making candles? lol. Pizza and snuggling will follow- her idea, and I have no problem with that!
  12. I think I understand what he's trying to do. He lets smoke get in wet paint so it'll have streaks in it. I make sure my candles don't smoke and don't have any suggestions other then severely over wick one. If it was me though, I wouldn't touch that project with a ten foot wick
  13. Great job! That looks too nice to use! :smiley2:
  14. Thanks for the suggestions. :smiley2: I did order some Jovan Musk for Women type from NG. I'll find out how it is when it comes tomorrow.
  15. I'll have to check into it. I like doing things myself and making stuff but I have to draw the line somewhere. I have way too much crap here and am running out of room.
  16. LOL. I doubt if I'll try CP next, but then again, I didn't think I'd ever be making M&P. Who knows what trouble I'll get into next. :smiley2:
  17. The new lady in my life likes Coty Wild Musk perfume and asked me if I can get that scent (or something close) for candle and soap making. I tried a search but thought someone might have a recommendation. Thanks!
  18. Thanks, I like the one on the right too (looks pretty cool in person) but not too crazy about the other one.
  19. Sorry about the crappy picture. The one on the left is actually purple on the bottom. These are only my fourth and fifth attempts at making soap. Both are unscented Shea Butter M&P. I can't wait to get more colors and molds (already ordered lol) to play some more. Oh my, what have I done! Click on the pic to enlarge.
  20. Yeah, I already noticed a difference. Store bought soap is too harsh. I'll have to order more lol. Now I'll be out shopping and l noticing things to use for molds lol. Yes, I've created a monster! I had a first date with someone last night. I had made some soap and candles for her ahead of time and she thought that was so sweet. I also made dinner. That's funny about you saying soft skin being sexy. She did comment on how my skin felt. We really hit it off and we will be spending more time together.
  21. . "And they are less than 2 hours from me. I am hoping that someday I can get over to their store/warehouse...just have to get up the nerve to drive the PA turnpike around the Philly area. Don't know if you have to get on the Schuykyll Expressway...also known as the SUREKILL Expressway or not...I HATE that stretch of road. Oh...and my UPS ground shipping was kind of high too for living close. I sure wish they would use USPS flat rate boxes." Yeah, the Surekill Expressway can be quite an experience! You might not have to get on that road to get there. I buy wax and other stuff there and have it shipped. For what little I use it's not worth driving there and paying for gas and Turnpike tolls. And then there's the aggravation factor of driving. I'm about two hours away. I haven't tried many of their scents but I do like the CBL125 and 4505H. I'm getting low on both and hope they have a wax sale soon. I have been very happy with everything I bought there so far.
  22. Here's some if you're looking for new ones. http://newcart.candlesandsupplies.com/Store/Products/Candles/Molds/Taper+Molds/Default.aspx http://www.peakcandle.com/products/Square-Taper-Mold--1-x-12__M1036.aspx
  23. Wooohoo! I made my first bar and it even looks like soap! :yay:lol. I'm anxious to see if Shea butter helps with my dry skin. Oh no, what have I started? Yeah, that's it- I started making soap for my health. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. :smiley2:
