  1. You're welcome! I'm always happy to help people out.
  2. Don't you mean "if" I get it mastered? lol You never know what I'll try next :laugh2:I got my supplies today and I have off work on Thursday so I'll give it a shot. BTW, did you get the wicking I sent you yet?
  3. LOL. I already have too much candle stuff here and now I'm starting this! Oh well, one can never have enough crap.
  4. Here's a link http://newcart.candlesandsupplies.com/Store/Products/Candles/PID-GMS-2.aspx hope this helps
  5. Candles & Supplies. I only ordered 2 lbs of each to try it out. I hope this doesn't turn into another obsession/ addiction lol.
  6. I don't know what I'm getting myself into but I'm going to try making soap lol. This morning I ordered Goat's Milk and Shea Butter M & P base, some molds, and colorants from C & S. I've been making candles for a while and decided to try something new and have been reading the M&P and tutorial section. Seems like fun and I like doing things myself.
  7. I only bought two of their scents so far (Patchouli and Ylang & Amber) and I'm happy with them. They're very strong and smell good too.
  8. I wonder where you got them lol. I just tried putting a 31 oz jar (straight sided) on one and it works ok. They might work for votives too if you have the molds on a strip. I haven't pursued that idea anymore- the patent process doesn't seem to be worth it.
  9. Thanks. I haven't messed with it much, but so far I like it. The scent throw is good and it burns nice although I might have to wick down one size. I really like the mottled look but this wax does require a repour. I'm used to using CBL125 which is a one pour wax unless it's in a tall contained.
  10. Ylang & Amber and Patchouli are the only fo's I've bought from them but they are very good. I started out with samples and like them so much I bought pound bottles.
  11. Thank you. I used 2530H from Candlewic.
  12. That's interesting. Maybe I'll try a three wick 3" pillar to see what happens. I like to experiment and what's the worst thing that could happen lol. You might be able to find some small metal rod at your local hardware store. My local store has an assortment of various sizes of brass and aluminum. A hobby shop might be a good place to try too. Coat hanger wire might also work.
  13. I like their 4045H and CBL125. I recently got some of their mottling container wax to play with. I'll see how that goes. So far I'm liking it.
  14. This was the first time using this wax-2530H and it's scented Patchouli. Both from Candlewic. I got this wax yesterday and couldn't resist playing. :yay:I know the color doesn't match the scent but I don't care about that lol.
  15. I had trouble with some HTP104 wicks coming loose from the tabs and ever since then I re-crimp every wick tab (no matter what it is) just to be safe.
  16. You could melt the wax out of the jar first and then use rubbing alcohol to clean off the soot. That works for me on the rare occasion that I get soot. I put the containers on my electric warmers to melt the wax. It takes a while but it works if you have the time. I try to plan ahead when I need to clean out some jars. An oven would definately be faster. I use a heat gun too sometimes.
  17. The only ones I tried from there were Patchouli and Ylang & Amber and I was very satisfied. Both were from the ultimate line.
  18. I guess I get lucky once in a while lol . I don't let any of the layers harden between pours.
  19. It's a secret! :lipsrseal No, not really lol. All I do is pour some wax in and swirl the mold around, then pour more in and repeat until full. I pour at 145-150*. I was surprised when I unmolded it-that's what I was trying to achieve. Thanks everybody. :smiley2:
  20. This one's scented German Chocolate Cake and made with 4045H. Smells almost good enough to eat.
  21. Wow! Very nice. Wish I had your patience. Looks like alot of work, but the end result was worth it!
  22. Thanks. I'm not in the holiday mode-it just worked out that way
  23. Made with 4045H. The green one is scented Bayberry and the other one is Botanical Orchard & Nectar. I made these (and some container candles) for a very good friend- she loves candles. :smiley2:
  24. Just playing around. Made with 4045H and it's not scented. I used liquid dye (approx. one drop per ounce of wax) for the black-no stearic added. I did add stearic to get the white.
  25. No, it's probably me. Strange things happen to me alot. I don't think I used that dye with the last case of wax. I'll have to try a different color to see if it happens again. I made three pillars (all on a different day) using the same amount of stearic, same color, and same cooling method, and they all came out with that silver look to them. They burn nice and don't bulge. Maybe I can send the remains of one of them to you for analysis.
