  1. Enchanted Lights will send some free samples- and CC will send free samples of the EL as well- it's a nice size sample too, several lbs. HTH!!
  2. The sweet fig is very strong, but Very sweet, a little too sweet for me, it threw strong in 4633.
  3. The Buttercream Frosting from Daystar is wonderful, I LOVED it in my 4633 candles, but when I tested it in my soy melts, it smelled a little off, but maybe my fo is old (got it about 18 months ago), not sure. May need to buy another tester just to make sure. - I also love the bakery vanillas, and I love Peak's birthday cake (it's a family/friend favorite).
  4. Love her oils!! You can't go wrong with them. She had mentioned to me once that palm can sometimes be finicky with her oils. I am using soy in melts, and they are nice and strong. The Red Banana is good- smells just like a sweet banana cream pie! Lavender Lullaby is nice, relaxing. I'm still testing her oils, but have enjoyed them so far!!
  5. It is like Christmas when the UPS truck delivers- way too addicting!! I love looking at this site, and suppliers websites to get ideas, read reviews- but I too find joy in it, so I don't see myself being compliant with any rehab program at this point!!
  6. Beautiful Suzy!! love the labels- I'm sure you'll have lots of sales!!
  7. Cherry Crumb Pie from NG- is a really nice cherry scent, not cough syrrupy like some others...
  8. of course those 2 I didn't order!! will have to add them to my next order- I think the sale ends tonight....
  9. Oh- what a great idea!!!! I'll have to try that- I'm planning to also try Rainwater and Day at the Spa 50/50 as well, (as someone else suggested) it's fun to blend and see what works!
  10. Yes, I agree with the others- go for it and have fun! Block out the negative- and just enjoy the experience! I'm sure your products with outshine the others by a long shot! (I will also have to read up on quarter auctions, and thanks for the reminder about "springing forward" the clocks...shoot, I really need that hour!!)
  11. You don't come across as a "know it all" at all- you share information in a very kind, thoughtful way which is appreciated! I know others would agree I think we learn from everyone on this board. I'm still a newbie- this is a hobby for me at this point, and I love reading about others experiences, what works for them, what doesn't, cheering with those who've had success, and lamenting with those that struggle like I do with parts of this process! It fascinates me that some people absolutely love certain fo's, and others don't- it is such an individual thing- we all have different noses and tastes. For me, I can't bring myself to order any musky or teakwood type scents- but I love, love , love the bakery and fresh scents... I ended up ordering the following from CS: Cinnamon Stock Cranberry Marmalade Green Tea and Lemongrass Honeysuckle Jasmine Peppermint and Eucalyptus Rainwater Smoke and Odor Elim English Garden Juniper Breeze Day at the Spa Apple Harvest Lavendar Cham Orange and Chili Pepper Spice Market I can hardly wait to get these and test them in wax. Good luck to everyone else with their testing- and thank you all for your suggestions!!
  12. JAJC- I took your suggestion from a different thread, and made some spreadsheets of suppliers and fo's, and marking if it was strong and if I like it. This made me realize how many suppliers I have ordered from (either directly, or some I've purchases off the classies). I currently have fo's from: Aroma Haven BCN Candle Cocoon CandleScience Daystar Lonestar Millcreek Moonworks Natures Garden Peak MMS Southern Garden Scents Sweetcakes WSP Greenleaf Some I will continue to order from, others not. I'm using soy now in melts, so that's why I wanted to retry some of the CS fo's, some seemed weak in my 4633 that I was using in containers. (bty- Raspberry Macaroon is WONDERFUL in lotion- my mil and my son's girlfriend love this scent, and it lasts!). Also, off subject, I tried the Toasted Marshmallow from AH in lotion- love, love it!! It is the closest vanilla to the one I've been trying copy for 2 years!! my search is done for that dupe, I can check that off my list- thanks to you!! Thanks for all the information emilyspoppy- you are an expert, and we all are learning from what you share!! Thank you!
  13. Thanks so much JAJC! I'll update here and let you know after I order- still deciding on which ones, and also need some wax.... You'll have to let us know how you like the ones you pour on Sunday- good luck!
  14. it does help- thank you all for the suggestions!! We're due to have a bunch of freezing rain/snow this weekend, a perfect weekend to order some, pour some and test some more!!
  15. thank you all! You mentioned ones that I hadn't thought of ordering- which is great! Placing my order later today....
  16. That's right! Thanks for the reminder- I agree, I want to get a bunch to make the shipping charge worth it....
  17. I had my eyes on the cinn stick and lav chamomile- I'll have to try the apple harvest too! So many fo's, too little funds- but it is hard to resist these sales!!!
  18. Trying to put together an order from CS with their current sale- any must have's that you would recommend??
  19. I LOVE the 2 oz tins, but have found it hard to wick them (I love the small size- and with the right fo, it can still fill up a room!)- I use 4633, and have tried the 36z and some of the low smoke zincs. With some fo's, the wick drowns out in that tin- I need to get back to testing these- I've been distracted by testing melts!! Good luck- keep us posted on your testing! I think I tried some CD 5 and 6's as well....
  20. I think I'm going to have to go get me a presto pot now!! Still using the double boiler method, very time consuming!
  21. Oh it sounds yummy! Let us know how you like it after you test! Spice Banapple Bread? I like Banana Apple Spice Cake too!

The ones at Walmart do have the #5 on the bottom....

I've had great HT with some wax combinations I've experimented with (PB/Excel and EL), pouring at around 145-155- I'm sure more experienced "melt experts" will also chime in!

The only problem I had with a couple of the packs from Walmart was that the package didn't have enough lids. I called the company and they are sending me coupons for more....
