  1. Beautiful creative work!! You did an amazing job!! Thanks for sharing (now this might inspire me to finally finish painting in our master bedroom- seems to be low on the priority list somehow!!)
  2. Are you in MN? I'm also in MN, around the twin cities...
  3. I second the PB and excel blend- it is wonderful- very good HT and long lasting... (at least with fo's, have not tried EO in this yet)
  4. All of those sound WONDERFUL! Now I'm hungry.... for something sweet... You'll have to post some reviews once you've gotten them in wax...
  5. That's wonderful news! So glad you heard back so soon, especially with good news and that they are taking good care of you!! I haven't tried any from JS yet, I have many fo's from so many others that I still need to test, but there is always that pull to order some new ones and try out a new supplier- it must be a sickness, I think I need another support group meeting....
  6. Good luck Karen! Hope it's coming in another box for you. That is disappointing when you are counting on a certain fo to be sent, and then it's not in there- keep us posted- hope you hear back from them soon!
  7. I've used Peak's Warm Apple Pie in lotion, as it is skin safe, and it is wonderful! just an fyi....
  8. Just testing Homemade Apple Pie-KY from AH- it is wonderful, and very strong! I do love those autumn scents!!
  9. I LOVE Peak's and CS's BRV- both are very strong in soy and parasoy....
  10. Welcome to the forum! I definitely agree with starting with a kit. I started with the container kit from Peak- and SO glad I did! It is such a good way to start and get experience with candle making. I've progressed to just making melts now, I'm just doing it for me/family/friends for now, and I also make homemade lotion. I know you'll find many, many friendly experts on this forum that are willing to share information and give good advice. The search feature is a great way to research specific topics also. Welcome and have fun with your new hobby!
  11. making firestarters- at least attempting to! (I hate to waste leftover wax from my melts!)
  12. Love it!! May have to take a trip to the dollar store this weekend...
  13. Sweetcakes has a good one- it's very strong too... let me know if you want a sniffy!
  14. wow- you guys are an inspiration for organization!! I've been testing so many fo's that I'd have to buy dozens of bins to put them in (and probably need an extra storage room)! I've just stacked them in a small storage drawer for now- until I narrow down the ones I love and want to keep... That makes sense to put all the like ones in a bin that's labeled with the fo name, maybe bins that stack for storage that you could put on shelves.. I think you need your very own wax melt room!!
  15. I love these warmers!! another thing for my wish list!! I love the solar lids for the mason jars also... way too many creative ways to use mason jars!
  16. yes- same warmer, as I had given it to her.... will have to investigate a little more how long she had the melts going and how many days. I find sometimes that I have to have it melting all day to really get a sense if it is a winner, and then again the next day. I've had some that I didn't think threw very well the first day, but the second day they threw really well, and then test a 3rd day. I try to test 3 days, not sure if it is the correct way, but mine are lasting several days and that is my goal...
  17. So good to hear from you again and congrats on your house!! I've been testing some blends too- having some friends and MIL test- but I think I need to be more organized with my testing, and how I want others to test. (my MIL is very picky, and I think the airflow in her home is a lot different in ours, one fo that was SO strong in our home, she got little to no scent, so it leaves me a little confused). I've been liking the PB/Excel blend a lot, but it tends to frost and kinda of "bloom" a little, also testing 3022/4794 and the EL wax which has been good with some scents. Good luck with all of your testing and with the move!!
  18. I love these! What a creative idea!!
  19. MMS's Coconut Milk is wonderful in lotion, lasts a long time too- I sometimes have a hard time finding fo's that last and don't fade in lotion- this one rocks!
  20. You have to try Christmas Spice, Snow Place Like Home, Lavendar Breeze, and I'm currently testing Hotel Costes- wasn't sure about it OOB and even after I poured it, but I like it burning! It has an upscale hint to it, a little masculine, different, worth a try! I have many of their oils (they are local for me), and have tried some in lotion, still testing these. Their special edition vanilla is good, clean warm cotton, breeze. Good luck- I think you'll like them- they have wonderful oils, pricey, but I'm finding the ones that I've put in wax are long lasting (with PB/Excel, and 3022/4794 blends). Their lip balm base is wonderful too- fyi....
  21. The Pumpkin Pie Spice and Glazed Walnut Spice are nice and strong in soy melts. Love the Almond Milk and Honey in lotion (haven't put it in wax yet)... I've poured some others, just haven't had time yet to test them... too many testers, too little time!
  22. I have been testing Mrs. Claus' Cookies the last couple of days, it is a yummy scent, seems similiar to DS's Vanilla Bean Cookies to my nose.... I haven't tried Sugar Cookie Royale yet, but looks like I'll be starting a wish list there ......
  23. I LOVE, LOVE LOVE AH's Toasted Marshmallow!! (Karen- thank you to you for recommending this one to me!) I put it in lotion and it smells wonderful- I love vanilla scents, but am picky about them too. I still need to get it in some wax melts, but I love this one in lotion (I use the whipped body frosting recipe in this site's recipe section- wonderful stuff!!)
  24. I just placed an order with BCN on wed am, someone even called me within 10 minutes of placing the order with a questions and to clarify things- got my order plopped on my doorstep today, 2 days later!! I am so glad, as I wanted to play with some wax and fo's this weekend- this has been the fastest shipping from them!
  25. Enchanted Lights will send some free samples- and CC will send free samples of the EL as well- it's a nice size sample too, several lbs. HTH!!
