  1. Has anyone had success with having a duplication made from a candle?
  2. So has anyone seen (or purchased) the new Edison light bulb style vintage warmers from Scentsationals? I saw them on their website a few weeks ago but didnt want to pay their price, so I kept checking wally world since they carry this line no such luck. They werent on the Wally world website a few weeks ago either but they are now. I couldnt help myself and ordered 2 of them. They are so cute. I have no idea how the melts will do in them, but I love the style. I really think they will go well with my Farmhouse/vintage/coastal/cottage (yes, my still is a mix of all) theme. I ordered the Nautical & the Anchorage Lantern style. Here is a link to the collection at the Scentsationals website but wallyworld (website) has them as well for less. http://www.scentsationals.com/warmers/edison.html
  3. I like it with zucchini bread and also with pumpkin. It might also be nice with toasted marshmallow or something sweet. But then I am a bakery fan so I automatically gravitate toward those scent types. Other might think I am crazy. Would it play nice with pine around the holidays perhaps?
  4. I may be wrong and hopefully someone will chime in if I am, but I have always had the understanding that a flashpoint becomes irrelevant once the FO is added to wax.
  5. Those are really cute. What kind of mold are you pouring the wax in that gives the pretty design?
  6. My process is very similar. I make small batches (4 - 8 tarts in portion cups at a time). I heat my wax in the presto pot. Then I weigh my FO in a little souffle cup, drop my color in a glass pyrex measuring glass, ladle the wax into the glass, add the FO, stir then pour. I just finished pouring 30 different scents.
  7. I have never tried Bert's so I can not say how accurate they are, but I did notice that there are a couple of FO's that are described as Bert's Aspen Forest twins in the Fragrance Twins thread.
  8. Patchouli is DIS-GUST-ING! ack.... it makes my stomach turn and it is so stinking (pun intended) strong that it lingers forever. In fact I just opened my cabinet and I was immediately attacked by that scent even though I havent poured it in quite some time. There are also several people that I work with that LOVE Angel perfume which is patchouli based and I can smell it even when they are on the other side of the building. I hope they run out of their perfume soon!
  9. I was able to submit my order so it appears their site is working again.
  10. I am looking for an FO like Cider Snap from Flickers/Elements. I know they used to have it but believe it may have been a close out? I noticed in the Fragrance Twins thread that someone mentioned that Apple Clove Butter from AH/RE was a match. Are there any other reviews on that? Also, does anyone know of any other dupes, or know if the original Flickers/Elements oil can be found somewhere else?
  11. Darn, it just crashed again. I was just about to complete my order. I think I will wait until later today and re-add everything back to my cart. Ugh.
  12. I was in the middle of adding items to my cart when their site went down. I hope it is only temporary because it was fine about an hour ago. I tried clearing my cookies thinking it was just my computer but I tried going to their site from another computer and had the same problem. Funny because I got the same error when I went to Elements, which is why I thought it must be my computer. But then I tried a few other suppliers and no problems.
  13. TallTayl, Did you try to Strawberry Passion from NG? Out of all the strawberries I have tried, my nose found that one to be the most realistic strawberry.
  14. There is a tab on the top right side of the home screen that is called View New Content. Once you click on that it will take you to all the new content that has been posted. Then on the left hand side of the screen you can change your preferences to display the "Forum" and then choose a time setting, e.g. 2 weeks, since last visit, etc. It seems to work just as well as the Whats New on the old board. I dont bother going to the What's New option on this new board but the View New Content is a great feature. Hope that helps.
  15. I was on my profile and when I hovered over the number in the green box, a little window popped up that said I have that number of likes. I guess it is kind of like FB where someone can "like" a post.
  16. Oh my, I have those moments more often than not lately it seems. I even scare myself sometimes. Haha.
  17. I was going through my oil cabinet the other day and came across the answer to my own question so thought I would report back if anyone else is searching for a twin. To my nose Vanilla Frosted Graham from ICS smells just like Hansel & Gretel from CS (at least OOB). Oops, just realized this post was about Honey Gingerbread from BW, not Hansel & Gretel. Oh well, in case anyone wants to know, those two are twins. Haha...I think it was another thread that I was asking about a dupe to Hansel & Gretel.
  18. Based on the pear, apple, caramel & vanilla mentioned in the description, I wouldnt have guessed that it smells like peppermint and chocolate, but if that is the case maybe you can try a peppermint bark or something like that?
  19. In the Fragrance Twins thread there is a reference that The Candlemaker Store carried a scent called Silver Bells, however because it was being compared to Tenn's This Old House it likely is not what you are looking for (sorry). Although someone came back later and added an opinion that it did not actually smell the same (to them at least) as This Old House, if it was anything remotely close, it probably is not what you are looking for. I have not smelled Silver Bells from Candlemakers, but I have smelled This Old House and I dont think it matches the description that you mentioned. The description sounds great though and I would love to try it out if you figure out who carries it.
  20. The Candlesource has a Muscadine Grape that I remember being strong, but I can not say how realistic it is.
  21. I am only making a few right now... salted caramel, cranberry cinnamon, apple cinnamon, storm watch and amber & vanilla.
  22. All from Bittercreek North - their Spiced Cranberry and Cinnamon & Clove Bud are both wonderful! I also like their Caramel, Autumn Leaves (BNL), Pumpkin Pie, Butter Rum Allspice, and Strawberry Jam.
