  1. Can I ask what a TP air freshener is? Is it one of those scented tubes that replaces the plastic roll holder or something else? Thanks,
  2. Here is an old thread that may spark some ideas... http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?61176-Layered-Scent-Suggestions....
  3. Isnt that the truth! I think many of us have been on the hunt for that perfect pumpkin pie scent. That is what drew me to these boards and this maddening hobby of mine in the first place. I have found a few pumpkin pie scents that I have settled on and do like a lot, but still havent found THE ONE! Maybe someday.... until then, I just keep trying to find it.
  4. I am not sure if you already tried pumpkin ginger streusel, but if not it is a definite winner.
  5. how about toasted marshmallow, chocolate and graham cracker for Smores.
  6. Thanks for the suggestion. Do you use any of their FO's. Candybee, I totally agree with creating your own blends which I do quite a few, but I really love this particular pumpkin pie. I do have a spicy pumpkin, but this one doesnt smell spicy to me and is just so yummy. If I could just find this one, although I am afraid they probably do custom blend it..... Also, I should mention that I do not sell, so this quest for the PI Pumpkin Pie is simply for myself.
  7. I tried their candles a few years ago, but only one scent. It is a nice candle, but not any better than any other good candle. They are one of the reasons I found this board. Not because their candles were so amazing, but because I was obsessed with finding a pumpkin pie similar to their pumpkin pie. It is one of those elusive scents that I havent been able to find (even posted about it in the ongoing thread about giving up on finding that one scent). However, it is not a typical pumpkin pie type of scent that we are all looking for. It has no spices, lots of pie crust & butter, and maybe even a hint of some maple. I dont even know if I would associate it with pumpkin pie if I had smelled it without knowing what it was supposed to be first. But it is a really good scent. I have about 4 of their large pumpkin pie candles sitting in a cabinet as a backup for times when I become desperate. LOL.
  8. I know that Karen (justajesuschick) was on the hunt for Cotton Candy and I believe she tried both of those. I am sure she will chime in. I guess cotton candy is another one of those scents that I dont try because I am not exactly sure what it is supposed to smell like. I feel the same way about Carrot Cake. On another note, I say go for the Sweet Potato & Brown Sugar from AH. One can never be too sure without trying it for yourself!
  9. Forgot to add: Homemade Apple Pie Spiced Pear Eggnog Peppermint Bark Maple Syrup/Butter Vanilla Bean Noel
  10. Fall/winter, bakery & spice type of scents are my favorite as well. These are some of my personal favorites: Apple Harvest - CS (I like to add cinnamon) Campfire Marshmallow AH Autumn Campfire (my own blend of yummy goodness - it screams fall) Caramel Apple Pie - ICS Cinnamon & Cloves - BCN Cinnamon Garland (my blend of cinnamon & bayberry) Cranberry Orange (my blend of cranberry & orange) Dickens Christmas - Community Candle Mistletoe - CS Gingerbread House - blend of a couple different Gingerbreads Pumpkin Ginger Streusel - CC Pumpkin Pie - BCN Sleigh Ride - TCS (the candlesource) Holidazzle - TCS Pumpkin Apple Strudel - blend of pumpkin & apples Spiced Cranberry - BCN Mulled Cider - Community Mulberry - CS
  11. Well that was ironic timing. I was searching the board and came across an older thread refercing the ebay seller and placed an order for the sweet potato (hopefully the same one as Aztec's) just a few minutes ago. Thanks!
  12. I really like Cinnamon Roll w/Vanilla Icing from The Candlesource.
  13. I would love to find Pure Integrity's Pumpkin Pie. It is a non-spicy pumpkin pie with a lot of pie crust and it is very buttery. But come to think of it, it probably doesnt really smell like pumpkin pie in the traditional sense (no cinnamon, cloves, pumpkin pie spice, etc), but I love the scent. I have found FO's that are close but it is still missing something. So until I can get closer, I have a few of their candles locked away for times of desperation.
  14. I was curious about the sweet potato & brown sugar from Aztec myself. I thought about trying it but other sweet potato scents that I have tried are very similar to a pumpkin pie type of scent, IMO. Is that the case with this one as well (aside from the burnt notes) or is it different enough from a spicy pumpkin pie that it may be worth trying?
  15. There are still plenty of slots open in the tart swap so mosey on over to the swap board and sign up - dont be shy....
  16. Welcome to the board. Hop on, strap on your seat belt and have a fun ride!
  17. Just wanted to let everyone know that there is a signup in the Swap Section for a Fall/Winter Tart Swap (there is also a separate swap for B&B/tarts as well) if anyone is interested. I hosted the Tart Swap last year and it was a great success. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed receiving a box of goodies filled with tarts/clams from various members of this board and it was a great way to receive feedback on your own products. I realize that fall/winter seems so far off, however around the time the final packages will be mailed to the participants (1st week of Oct) we will be right at the beginning of fall and a great way to kick it off. If you are interested, please check out the swap and sign up. It is for all experience levels. Dessa,
  18. I just recently discovered cinnamon and clove bud from BCN. It is the closest that I have found that reminds me of those wonderful cinnamon pine cones that are everywhere around the holidays. I really like it. Dessa
  19. What perfect timing! I literally just sat down from pouring some ICS scents that I just ordered and I think they will be great for fall/Christmas: ICS Caramel Apple Pie Caramel Cookie Fireside (I added a splash of campfire smoke) Orange Vanilla Latte Pumpkin Spice Latte Other fall/Christmas favorites: Pumpkin Pie BCN Cinnamon & Clove Bud BCN Cinnamon Garland (my own blend of cinnamon & bayberry) Cranberry Spice BCN Harvest BCN Mulled Cider - Comm Candle Gingerbread House - blend of a couple different gingerbreads Pumpkin Ginger Streusel - CW Holidazzle - TCS Mistletoe - CS Sleigh Ride - TCS Homemade Apple Pie - AH/RE
  20. That is a lot of warmers. I have 7 and thought that was a lot. Wow... you have put me to shame, lol...
  21. I use 50/50 of 4625 & 4630 and use both the hot plate and light bulb style of warmer. In my experience the light bulb warmer lasts longer because it doesnt seem to get as hot whereas the hot plate style will throw stronger & quicker but will urn off quicker. Also, keep in mind that the AC and ceiling fans, especially this time of year will greatly diminish the longevity of your melts. I have been noticing that quite a bit lately.
  22. I know many others have had great results using 4794 and hopefully they will chime in, but I personally could not get longevity with using 4794, whether it was blended or on its own. It has great HT for about 3-4 hours and then it fizzled out on me. It didnt matter what FO I used. I ended up switching to 4625 as the votive/tart portion of my blend.
  23. Karen, have you tried Country Gift Shop? That is a nice spicy scent and very unique. It is another of my favorites from the KY line. Oh yeah, and the KY Vermont Maple Syrup is really good as well.
  24. I love love love vanilla butter fudge and warm & cozy. I just put grandma's cupboard in wax but haven't melted it yet. I added a splash of candlewic pumpkin ginger streusel to the grandma's cupboard so I am hoping I like the combo.
  25. There are so many varieties of pumpkin and this is one scent that you will get a boatload of different opinions, but my personal favorite for a straight up pumpkin with some spice and not overly sweet is The Great Pumpkin from The CandleSource. I also really like Pumpkin Pie from BCN. For a pumpkin blend and more on the sweet side, I really like Pumpkin Ginger Streusel from Candlewic. I could probably go on and on. This weekend I plan to blend pumpkin with caramel. I just cant decide if I would rather use a spicy pumpkin or a sweet pumpkin. Decisions, decisions...
