  1. Leah, we must have similar taste. I have actually already used (or tagged them to a scent and will be using the name once I make the change) 4 of those names. But your suggestions give me a few other ideas to play with. Thanks!
  2. I am in the process of changing some of my scent names and I am stuck on Apple clove butter, also a dupe of cider snap. I am trying to stick with the country/southern themed name types. I have enough scent names with cider in the title so I am trying to stay away from that. Any suggestions?
  3. Thank you so much for all the suggestions. Off to check them out!
  4. Does anyone know of a good raspberry with nothing added, just a straight up strong raspberry? TIA!
  5. My goal is to work on my labels. My husband keeps telling me they are too plain (which they are) so the plan is to create something new, hopefully sooner than later.
  6. I am a Pinterest fanatic. I have been browsing, pinning, following and such for quite some time. I go through spurts where I will spend huge amounts of time on there and then I will go weeks without opening it at all. Right now my hubby has been browsing it daily. I laugh at him because he used to think I was crazy. Now I see him sitting on the couch with his laptop on Pinterest getting ideas for things to do around the house, LOL. I did create a Honey Do board for him a long time ago. Someday maybe he will actually make something from that board. With Pinterest you can just keep scrolling, and scrolling, and scrolling and before you know it, hours have gone by. I have a blog of my crafty fun stuff and home decorating, and those pics are pinned to my boards. I have also gotten tons of great ideas that I have "borrowed" for my house as well. I have the app on my phone, which is great to browse through when you need to kill a few minutes.
  7. Does anyone know if the Crystal Clear Standard Gusset Bags from Clearbags.com are polypropylene? Thanks!
  8. I finished putting together "Scents of Christmas" gift bags with cute little shapes and scents. The bags come with a gift tag so that they can be easily gifted. They turned out really cute. Here are some pics.
  9. While I no longer use that wax blend, I did for quite some time and really liked it. I agree that it may just just be candle nose. My melts were averaging 10-12 hours of throw and I tested in both hot plate and light bulb style warmers.
  10. Trappeur, I love looking at your pictures. Everything is so pretty and warm and cozy. I love the feel of them. And I love how you threw a pic of your kitties and dog in there as well. They are adorable!
  11. Sorry, I do not use a parasoy blend, nor have I used C3 so I can not comment on your question (I am sure many will) however I just wanted to mention that I love your subject line, haha. I am sure that is supposed to say Parasoy, but I got a kick out of parasite. Not making fun of you at all, just thought it was funny. I have done things like that myself!
  12. There are probably a couple of things that we each do that doesn't follow proper "protocol" and we just never admitted it for fear of being blasted, haha.
  13. I believe Tennessee candle supply's version is a dope to BCN.
  14. I sent a follow up email to ask about payment options. According to their brochure, they do not accept credit card payments, so I assume I will need to mail a check. They do provide instructions to mail in a check when printing and mailing an application, however they did not provide any direction for those choosing to submit an online application. Hopefully I will receive a response tomorrow. Thanks,
  15. I haven't paid yet, so I assume there will be at least a request for payment. I didnt see an option to pay online when I submitted the application, unless I missed it.
  16. So now that I have obtained my business license and sales permit, I need to obtain insurance. I have already received quotes from my homeowners insurance company and the rates were not reasonable so I am going to go through Brower. For those of you that have insurance through Brower (Artist Program) was the process fairly painless to obtain insurance? Are they easy to work with? I submitted the online application yesterday (which only asked for very basic information) and I received a message that I would be contacted. It did not give me any indication as to when I might hear back from someone, so now I am just sitting tight... impatiently waiting. I will probably call someone tomorrow to see if I can speak with someone to get more information.
  17. Does anyone know of a really good pancakes with maple syrup FO, or just straight buttermilk pancakes? I have a really good maple syrup, so I can make my own blend. I just dont have the pancake element. Thanks!
  18. I save the chopsticks that we get when we order Chinese food and those work great as stir sticks, LOL.
  19. I have recently moved up from a presto pot to the turkey fryer (what a nice change) but the process still remains the same. I would recommend that you heat your wax to about 190 in your presto, ladle the amount of wax that you need into another container (pour pot, etc.), allow the temp to drop to 185 (which should happen while you ladle anyways), then add your FO and stir. By heating your wax a tad higher, that will allow you a little wiggle room while you weigh your wax. After I ladle I always use an infrared thermometer to check the wax temp to make sure it has dropped to 185 before adding my oil. Then stir long enough for your oil to incorporate into the wax and then you are good to go.
  20. I stir for only about 15-20 seconds, and just a bit more on the heavier FO's.
  21. I like Clove from The Candlesource, or Peaks Red Clove.
  22. The MMS version on its own smells identical to Gold Canyon's, IMO, so mixing them was simply a personal preference but it is smells wonderful on its own as well. I like Cranberry Woods, but I have never smelled BBW's version to be able to make a comparison.
  23. I spoke with Fillmore today and they confirmed that their inventory for Nutmeg & Ginger has been updated to in stock. Glad to hear that it does NOT smell like Pumpkin Souffle from CS. I think it is time to place an order.
  24. Also, I had a quick question on the Nutmeg & Ginger. For those that have tried it, is it anything close to Pumpkin Souffle from Candlescience? I was reading some old posts and someone had made mention to the similarity. I personally do not care for Pumpkin Souffle from CS so if they are similar I can strike that one off my list. Thanks,
  25. Does Fillmore sell oils in 4oz or 8oz increments, or only in 1lb bottles (not counting the 1oz samples)?
