  1. The more I read about Mad Oils, the more I'm convinced they're simply changing the names and reselling. One of their scents smells like Cracklin' Birch? I wonder why.... I stumbled across VA Candle Supply while looking for Tennessee's website (I always have to Google it) -- anyway, they have one called God's Love, which is oddly an NG original fragrance! At least they call it the same thing so there's not really anything misleading.....unless you're not familiar with NG oils. I smell resellers.....
  2. I'm wanting in particular so far ---- Rose Jam, Jungle, and Sultana from Daystar. I've never used Lush products. What I do know is that all the Lush dupes from FB are way too light for wax!
  3. I've never used Daystar's oils before. I've read that their Lush dupes are really good.... Two questions: 1) Are they dead-on dupes? 2) Are the strong enough for tarts (parasoy wax)? For $30+ per pound, I'd like some trusted feedback Thanks!
  4. Can't find Raven's Nest??? Anyone have a link....
  5. I had actually forgotten about Cierra and Farmhouse .... may go back and take a peek. Raven's Nest -- that one is new to me (unless my mind is bad today) Thanks!
  6. The MW dupe of Leaves is better from Flaming than it is from FB -- just my personal opinion Flaming just doesn't list that it's the MW version -- it is because I personally sent them the oil to be duped!
  7. The LBD from AH and JS are not the same -- just wanted to point that out
  8. Because using a dozen suppliers isn't enough already, I'm just curious if anyone has stumbled across any new suppliers worth mentioning? I've been doing this 7+ years so naturally I'm familiar with the usual suspects (Peak, CS, AH, Lonestar, FB, Flaming, ICS, etc) Just wondering if there are any new suppliers out there worth a flip.... Guess I'm hoping one day there will be another Bert's or another supplier with the consistent strength in oils like MW's were.....sigh..... (and, yes, I know that other suppliers have MW oils)
  9. I've been trying to pour some of the sample oils I've been hoarding every day for the past couple of months. I only do tarts now, no candles. NG - Kringleberry -- I actually like this one (haven't melted yet) NG - Chocolovers type -- looking for non-foody chocolate scents....CT smells great ICS - Strawberry Bread -- smells like strawberry muffins (HT was great, but didn't last long) -- gonna give it one more go (I like 2nd opinions to myself) AH -- Black Velvet -- to weak for tarts, but still smells good. May use this for b&b AH -- Woolen Blanket -- too weak for tarts....bummer since OOB it smelled nice NG - Peppermint Fluff -- this one is odd to me. It smells like peppermint, candy, and gum all rolled into one. Fills a room though. I bought 60 samples from AH -- they're still sitting in the box....haven't even had time to open them yet :\
  10. Buttercream -- it's okay...nothing special Flannel sheets -- haven't used Karma sutra -- didn't care for this one....very perfumey Pumpkin bread -- it's decently strong, but there are better pumpkin scents out there Southern pecan pie -- haven't used, but I can't sell the Pecan Pie I use now from CS Falling leaves -- haven't used Frosty windowpane -- LOVE!!! I get tired of the same old Christmas scents, so this one was a nice refreshing welcome. Kickin' caramel -- I've never met a caramel I really like Sweet amber musk -- one of our best sellers for 3+ years -- super strong!! Essene of Jesus -- one of our best sellers for 3+ years -- a bit on the masculine side, but wonderful throw! Hippie chick -- better suited for b&b (too light for wax) Oak barrel cider -- great scent, but not a good seller. I think people are burnt out on cider scents they can buy anywhere. Sweet potato spice -- this one is strong, but makes me want to vomit (I'm not a bakery fan though) Vermont maple syrup -- pretty good and strong .... a little too buttery for my taste Marijuana -- haven't used Sweet potato & brown sugar -- another one that's good and strong, but rears up my gag reflex. I hate these types of scents though.
  11. Connies Candles has a butt-kicking leather with notes of woodspice. Can't recall the name at the moment.
  12. With many of the crunch fragrances I've seen and had through the years, I find that the crunch part relates to the "nutty" part of the oil...even if it should be the way others above describe it.
  13. For me, it would be Lavender Patchouli -- I've yet to find a supplier (that I use) who has one. I've done a few blends on my own, but like Jcandleattic said above....it would be nice if we didn't have to. I'm all about the earthy blends! Anything with patchouli and/or sandalwood in the mix, and I'm usually on board
  14. I sometimes forget to come back and do updates.... Grey Dawn - WONDERFUL in parasoy, but it is a masculine scent Blackberry Frankincense - it is along the same lines as Blackberry Amber....mild but nice. Vanilla Cardamom - yum! This one is sweet and somehow earthy at the same time. Ocean Waves - meh :\ I prefer Peak's Ocean to this one. Princess Jasmine - haven't put this is wax yet, but makes a gorgeous lotion and perfume. Straight jasmine gives me a mild headache -- this one has all sorts of notes going on that tames it down. Black Fig & Honey - haven't tried in wax, but don't care for it OOB. I was expecting sweet, not weird. Plum Blush -- still on the fence with this one. There's something in there that I don't care for, but it does throw nicely. Sugared Cronut -- haven't put in wax yet, because OOB it smells light and too much like so many other bakery scents with vanilla/cinnamon in them. Blackberry Lemonade -- probably my favorite, even though I don't detect much lemonade. In my opinion, it's more of a blackberry mixed drink, minus the alcohol. Coriander Rosewood -- too light. I prefer Rosewood & Musk from AH. Coconut Bourbon -- haven't put in wax, but I'm loving it OOB. Not really picking up bourbon notes, but it may bloom in wax. Nordic Spa -- saving that one for a rainy day when I have nothing else to do. It's just okay....nothing special. Hope this helps
  15. I didn't go back through and read this whole post, but I'm a fan of ICS -- I'm not a huge fan, but a big enough fan of some of her oils (and great customer service) to keep me going back. Some of my faves: ALL coffee scents! Holiday Homecoming (we rename this and sell it year 'round) Sugar Cookie Dough Bear Claws Birthday Cake Brown Sugar Pecan Holiday Cookie Sugar Milk
  16. There's an FB group called Vendor Stuff For Sale - I used to buy stuff there a good bit (FO's), but now it seems people don't sell there as often. Not sure if people found another group or not?? If so, I'd like to know where it is. People hardly sell stuff here either :\
  17. Yep, what Chris said. Each wax has an FO load capacity -- if you put more than it can hold, it'll just seep out. I typically find that 6% - 9% works based on the FO itself. Get a super strong one like Wild Mountain Honey from Peak, and any more than 6% is a waste since it has the capability to blow your doors off at 6% I've never used vybar in our tarts, so I don't have an opinion there.
  18. Have you ever tried Pomegranate Cider from CS? If so, is it the same as the one from CW? Tempted to place another order....
  19. Christmas Wish!! That scent makes me want to spew. Yuck! Sweet Potato & Brown Sugar -- got a sample of this. One sniff and I almost lost my lunch.
  20. I'm a sucker for buying oils by the pound that I've never tried before -- we won't talk about my wasted money....instead, we'll talk about the ones that made it worth my risk I did get Smoked Applewood and Poinsettia Pine. Both are wonderful oils in parasoy!! As for November Rain, I purchased a sample of that one once upon a time -- it's just meh. I've never smelled the original so I'm not sure how close it is. I personally love Nutmeg & Cedar -- it's just one that I couldn't move with our customers. I also got some samples of their Glade dupes -- I haven't put them into wax yet, but OOB I really liked Angel Whispers and Cashmere....something....woods, maybe? Anyway, hope this helps!
  21. Autumn Walk from Peak throws GREAT in parasoy wax...only tested tarts, not candles. I stopped by White Barn last night. Their scent Flannel is to die for!! I will be super ecstatic if a supplier dupes that!!
  22. p.s. I listed lots of FO samples in the classies -- many are fall scents
  23. Have you tried Campfire from The Candle Source? It smells EXACTLY like a bonfire without the sweet tones. I give it five stars!
  24. We sell fall scents year 'round so we have a pretty large selection.... My personal favorites: Frosted Pumpkin (JS) Pumpkin Souffle (CS) Apple Harvest (CS) Pumpkin Caramel Latte (Peak) Caramel Cinnamon Latte (JS) Fall Festival (MW) Red Mac Apple (JS) Snickerdoodle Cookies (CW) It still blows my mind how many people like to "smell" like fall fragrances -- we sell so many pumpkin scented perfumes!!
  25. I wouldn't offer 300+ fragrances if they didn't sell...but they do! I will occasionally have a few that have to be discontinued due to slow sales, but not often. We carry a full line of tarts and b&b items. We have a large customer base and they love the large scent list. Everyone has to do what works for them.
