  1. Thank you. I know the ECO's were definitely out of the question. Do you know why Candlescience might suggest ECO's? Maybe for glass their suggestion might work? So if not shooting for full melt pool until half way point, what about with what they talk about wax memory on making a full melt pool the first time around? Won't it tunnel? I should be melting for about 3 hours at a time since it is about 3 inches diameter?
  2. I used straight GB 464 wax with a 10% FO load of a lemon cake scent. Tin is 4 oz and 2 9/16 inch diameter. This melt pool is after 3 hours. I am going with choice 2, but of course am going to keep burning after this sets up again a few more times. Thoughts? At first I was leaning towards the ECO 10 that was the wick suggested by candle science's guide since it had an even melt pool set up quickest. The CD seemed to melt all lopsided and wick curled, but after it burned fully it is even. The wick seems better without the big mushroom the ECO has. After 3 hours, I think CD 10 would be the better choice. Maybe even try a CD 12?
  3. Has anyone tried her vanilla waffles, buttery cake bites, shampure, cannolli, wedding cake, country cream, or brown sugar and lemon grass scent? I've been eyeing some of her new scents but her samples are a bit expensive.
  4. They have great FOs. I definitely cannot use more than 1 oz per lb (usually I use a bit under 1 oz per lb) and a lot of times only use .5 oz or even slightly less per lb otherwise it is way too strong. I typically use 1.5 oz per lb with other suppliers, but I definitely can't with hers since it would be way too overwhelming. The price evens out since I use less. Depends on the scent, but with none of them I've never used more than 1 oz per lb and they throw strong and long.
  5. Yes, one of my best sellers that I have to buy multiples of. Plain and in blends.
  6. Becky, that is exactly what I did so I think it is my nose being super desensitized since it was so strong and now nothing I had my parasoy formula for quite awhile that I've had good results with, but I've always tested for better a long the way anyway. Pure paraffin just seems to get the best results. I think 4625 probably has a longer throw because of the higher melt point so it does make sense.
  7. Thank you. It very well may be the hot, humid weather here lately
  8. It seemed in testing this blend seemed to do really well, but now I'm not so sure. Has anyone used this blend before? I tried half and half and initially it seemed to be very strong and last long but now it is weird with other scents it seems like the scent isn't there at first and then when I melt it again it is stronger. Like the scent throw starts off weak at first and takes a while to go? Or comes and goes? It has been strange all of a sudden it isn't throwing like it was with initial testing.
  9. This scent smells really good to me and sells really well. I use it to blend with other scents as well. How close it actually is to Lush I don't know but it still smells nice I think.
  10. I actually thought the JS one was the best one. I really couldn't tell a difference between vbn and mrs. santa's cookies. ICS smells very chemical like to me. I had wanted to try TCS since I heard good things about theirs but last I checked they had no website?
  11. Sorry, kind of a late response since I haven't been on but I use 1.5 oz per lb typically depending on the scent, sometimes less and my wax is also a harder type, not mushy to start with so my FO isn't leaking at all out of the wax. I've been using alternating clams but cs are good and the right type of plastic. I also do pour at a lower temp to rule out user error. I have spoken with others who have had the same issue as me too. You may not notice till months after depending on the scent. I also emailed the company and they admitted to their clams being affected by certain scents and that is just not ok by me to play a guessing game since if a customer has a scent sitting around, I don't want them to get the wrong idea once they eventually go to melt it. Not worth any initial money saved.
  12. I like aztec the most. I think it will all depend on your wax though. I had used the RE one that everyone raves about, but it smelled weaker to me. And I don't like many of aztec's scents which should say something... they can be good though for certain scents, not many but some.
  13. I did want to mention I think the issue is with the type of PVC used. It is thicker and sturdier at first, but for PVC I've experimented with, I've had the best luck with the thinner, crisper feeling ones. They might be a pain to take apart compared to panic PVC, but at least they last the test of time and don't get mushy and make the wax smell bad and waste product. Best option is #5 plastic though.
  14. Run away from them! I bought them because they were the least expensive option per clam, but they are not worth the product loss. They smell just fine out of the box and for a little while. Certain FO types will affect the plastic and turn them mushy over time. Plus the wax will leech the plastic scent. You won't notice it at first, but I did notice over time so I switched suppliers and better to pay more for less trouble. I didn't notice till certain customers brought it to my attention. It is a guessing game since some scents smell just fine and don't get the plastic all soft, but a lot of scents still get the plastic soft/ mushy and that gross plastic scent. Not worth the guessing and hassle for saving a few pennies. You will notice in about a month that smell and softness with certain scents. Like birthday cakes, vanillas, and some of the fruit scents. I have a lot of panic clamshells left since I stopped using them.
