  1. So, has anyone ordered and received any of their new oils? Curious what others think before taking the plunge. I had JUST placed an order with them two days before they sent out the newsletter advertising the new oils. I was kinda miffed, but story of my life!
  2. They're one of my main suppliers. Yes, with any supplier you're gonna get duds. Here's some advice that may be helpful: Her vanilla scents -- most are amazingly good and accurate Her citrus scents -- I find most of them to be weak in parasoy Her bakery scents -- if it has caramel in it, it's going to be strong. Some of her fruity bakery are just so-so. Her Christmas scents -- tend to all smell the same (only so many variations you can do with orange, clove, cranberry, etc) Her BBW dupes -- I've yet to find one that isn't dead on! Her Vanilla Bean Noel is better than the original. Her floral scents -- I've only tried a handful so I'm not much help there Her summer/beachy scents -- most have worked very well for me in parasoy Her fruity scents -- just pay attention to the "ingredients" ... many are the same except for one added thing (i.e., cherry, orange, lime vs. cherry, orange, lemon) Her pumpkin scents -- Yes! Hope this helps
  3. The ONLY reason I use them is they have a few of the oils I've used for years that I can't get anywhere else. I inquired about their shipping once -- which is astronomical by the way -- I was told they're linked in with UPS and that's what they charge. Yeah, with your added cushion profit maybe! Anyway, not my favorite place for oils when there are so many better companies out there.
  4. I ordered on the 19th and received a shipping notice on the 27th -- We've been using them for years. Sometimes they're quick and other times they're not. I just make sure I always order with a big enough window so I don't run out of supplies before the shipment arrives.
  5. If your wallet and your market can handle lots of FO's, then roll with it. Why limit the number of fragrances you offer just because you think you should? There's no right or wrong number of fragrances to carry. We carry over 300....and still growing. They ALL sell at one point or another through the year. We have a large customer base. Maybe that's because we have lots to choose from....just food for thought
  6. I've been working with The Flaming Candle Company (they're about 30 minutes from me) -- I sent them some of MW oils for duping. So far, they've duped Sugar Cookie Royale, Merlin's Forest, Patchouli Passion, Leaves, Witches Brew, and Native Princess. I do have Sun & Earth, but it's not a huge seller for me so I didn't worry about sending that one to them to dupe right now. The dupes they've done thus far have been very impressive! They're getting close to ordering the oils and having them on their website. I've tested all they have sent me ... a few lack the "depth" that MW oils were known for, but not so much difference that I think our customers will notice the change. I had planned on making a post when the oils were ordered, but I figured I'd at least put this out there now while MW oils were being discussed
  7. It's not your nose. I tried their Georgia Sunrise about five years ago. Super weak!! If you want a strong true peach, I highly recommend the one from Aroma Haven (Fresh Peach, I think) -- formerly KY's oil. If you're looking for a peach blend, try Mango Peach Salsa (Candlewic) -- super strong!
  8. I have tried just about every BRV on the market. The one from Candlewic is hands down the best and strongest!!
  9. This company is growing on me as I continue to try their oils. Many have been duds, but they have a few keepers that keep my interest up in trying them a little at a time. Pink Sands -- amazingly good! Coconut Cream Pie -- 24 hours after curing and it's the strongest one I've ever used Mulberry -- I like this one because it's more fruity and less spicy as some mulberry scents tend to be Cucumber Melon -- I've tried a dozen and this is the only one that fills up a room Suntan Lotion -- this one reminds me the most of Hawaiian Tropic from Berts Maple Walnut Fudge -- OOB it smells like nail polish remover; in wax, it blooms I still have a few to test in wax (Harvest Gathering, The Olive Branch, and a few others) My duds: Amazing Grace type -- smells NOTHING like it, and yes, I wear the actual perfume Most of the Lush types have been too light for tarts so I avoid them. Cinnamon Broom -- perhaps I got a bad one because this one had zero throw in wax French Vanilla Coffee -- had a very weird burnt orange note in it There are more, but my mind just went blank.....
  10. I haven't used hers....but if you happen to order from Aroma Haven, you MUST get their Shangri-la -- it is the best Lavender & Coconut Milk scent I have ever smelled!! Just thought I'd throw that out there
  11. The ones mentioned above (AH and TCS) are good LV's if you like the powdery type, but they do not smell like the one from CS. That one was always the best to me -- it's a shame they're discontinuing it :\
  12. JS is one of my main suppliers. I've been using her oils for six years. Yes, there are some weak ones among the bunch, but she has far more great ones than duds IMO. Just like with all suppliers, you have to sample and weed through them all. I do tend to avoid the Bodacious line -- haven't had much luck there. And some of her citrus scents are just meh! But she has the BEST BBW dupes around -- her Vanilla Bean Noel smells better than the original! So, don't discount her just yet. Here are some recommendations from me ((I use parasoy wax)) Vanilla Bean Noel Pink Sugar Berry Bellini Vanilla the King Cucumber Apple Splash Hippie Chick Claire Burke Original Almond Cookies (this one is in the bodacious line, but it's awesome) Caribbean Salsa Aloha Vanilla Tiki Beach Those are some of the stronger ones off the top of my head. Hope this helps
  13. Can I just say that I love this board?? I haven't been on much lately, but just happened to be browsing and saw this post. I am about 30 minutes from this company!!!! Definitely plan on making a visit Thanks!!!
  14. I am sick to my stomach over this. She is one of my FAVORITE suppliers!!
  15. DEFINITELY butterscotch pudding!!! Other scents from CW to try since you're looking for recommendations: Rattlesnake Grass Black Raspberry Vanilla (strongest and truest I've ever used) Voodoo Love (if you're customers like the hippie/earthy scents) Mango Peach Salsa (so strong and so good) Snickerdoodle Tahitian Orchid
  16. I third the one from The Candle Source -- it smells EXACTLY like Vick's Vapor Rub!!! Super strong!
  17. Fragrance Buddy's does smell like the real thing, but it's light in comparison to the one from NG. I've tried several suppliers and you cannot touch the one from NG!! (and lately I'm not an NG fan so that's saying alot)
  18. I have ordered lots of samples from them! These are currently the only ones I carry: Suntan Lotion (smells just like Bert's Hawaiian Tropic) Pink Sands (the best dupe out there) Karma (have no idea if it really smells like the Lush type or not, but it works well in b&b stuff -- way too light for candle/tarts) Maple Walnut Fudge (good and strong) The rest of the samples were very weak :\ I still plan on trying some more, as I like to carry a minimum of 6-7 oils from a supplier so I feel like it's worth the shipping cost when I do reorders. On a side note, Fuji Apple is very strong, but it doesn't smell like a fuji apple -- it's more of a super sweet pomegranate.
  19. You should be using more than two FO's from CW -- they have some really good ones I do love their Sugared Vanilla Shortbread and have never found anything close to it.
  20. They're one of my favorite suppliers The only one I haven't been overly pleased with is Cherry Blossom. It doesn't smell like the BBW version at all. Make sure you try their Butterscotch Pudding -- it will smell up your entire neighborhood!! I like that they have "different" blends than most suppliers too! Be sure to post your results on the ones you ordered, as surprisingly, I've not tried any of the ones you purchased.
  21. Chocolate -- except mint chocolate Cinnamon - bakery sells fine, but not the spice...like cinnamon & clove, red hot cinnamon, etc. Water scents -- rain water, etc. (too many floral notes in them, I think) -- I do have better luck with Ocean scents, but they have to have salty notes. Apple/Cinnamon blends
  22. Although JS does have Ice Cream Scoop Bread, I think Miami Erie was the original supplier those folks were getting it from. Not sure if it's the same oil or not??
  23. I've never used the one from CS so I can't compare ... sorry :\
  24. Huckleberry Harvest from NG has huge grape notes going on! Strong too
