  1. Bumping this thread up to see if anyone has tested his oils since this post was started -- most of the talk seemed to be about whether or not this was Luis from OF or not ;-) OP, have you put any of the oils into wax? Any other reviews from people who have tried them? ETA: I just went ahead an purchased a sampler for the following: Buttercream Frosting, Candy Fluff, Cashmere Woods, Cinnamon Broom, Circus Concession, Cucumber Melon, Fall Leaves, Maple Walnut Fudge, Spiced Apples & Peaches, and Suntan Lotion
  2. My vote is it's the palm wax -- like you, I've been using their oils for years (and I use a parasoy) with zero problems. I guess you'll just have to use other oils for your palm wax :\
  3. Out of curiosity, I ended up ordering Midnight Musk, Indian Sandalwood, and Bergamot Green Tea. The musk was actually pretty good, the sandalwood was ok (not strong enough for my liking), but the green tea thing made me want to puke -- I've never actually ordered any type of green tea scent before, so if it's supposed to smell like earthy vomit, then yeah, it's spot on ;-) I may try him again....
  4. Depends -- are you looking for the sweet maple or the dark maple? I agree with megandgarr above if you're looking for the sweet syrup-y style (AH or even TN has a good one); if you're looking for the rich dark maple, then Aztec has a great one!
  5. Voodoo Love is wonderful!!! Fantastic throw and makes killer incense Other favorites of mine: Black Raspberry Vanilla (the absolute strongest I've ever tried) Butterscotch Pudding (will blow your doors off) Fresh Vanilla Magnolia Blossom Mango Peach Salsa Nutmeg & Cedar Rattlesnake Grass Summer Fresh (super strong) Summer Fruit & Jasmine Tahitian Orchid I plan on trying some new ones -- at this price, I'm willing to take my chances on the pound bottles...I'm rarely disappointed with their oils.
  6. It's heavy on the cinnamon, but there's other 'stuff' in there -- I don't really get the toast vibe, but it's not a bad scent. It's super strong, but don't buy it solely on the name...
  7. The Candle Source only has Cotton Candy -- it's Just Scent that carries Cotton Candy Frosting
  8. Think sweet orange & melon, a dash of zing, and a strong perfume bottom note -- can't figure out what the zing is (maybe the florals/musk added in?) Hope this helps some...
  9. I bought the FO but changed the name -- any time I'm unfamiliar with how the 'real' perfume smells, I don't like putting the actual name in case it is way off...keeps customers from getting pissy ;-) I personally LOVE the smell, but sadly I could never sell that one. We did it in lotions, perfumes, and tarts.
  10. Black Cherry for sure (I'm pretty sure everyone in South America smells it when I make that one) ;-) I have tried many of their oils and there are only a handful that just didn't meet my standards -- I don't think you'll be displeased at all with whatever you order!!
  11. You'll be ordering more from them once you try these -- I agree with Carol....their Apple Butter is amazing!!
  12. I would just try samples of Red Currant from various suppliers -- I'd be willing to bet you'd find a match!
  13. Six months ago, maybe...I order several pounds at a time so they'll last me a minute or two
  14. I used Tuscan Patchouli when GL carried it, then when JBN carried it -- I now use it from SW, and although it's slightly weaker, it's identical to what I've used all these years. Not sure why yours is different ???
  15. I'm in Georgia (as are they) so I will definitely have to give them a try!! Glad I stumbled upon your post...
  16. We did milk baths once upon a time -- not only do you have to worry about the powder expiring, I actually found that some scents seemed to react to the powder and smelled way worse than rotten!! I will never forget how bad Lemon Sugar and Lilac smelled in the milk bath (shuddering at the memory I wish I could forget)
  17. I can say with certainty that Kumquat, Caribbean Coconut, Clothesline, and Be Delicious all do very well in parasoy wax! The others I haven't tried...
  18. OOPS!!! I mean 8 cups = 1/2 gallon
  19. Aroma Beads are a dry ingredient and a gallon is a liquid measurement. The simple answer? 8 cups = 1 gallon Hope this helps
  20. My response was to the OP and not you -- didn't realize you would think I was talking to you. Sorry about that ;-)
  21. When buying a fragrance, it's important to read the description and not just buy something based on the name. NG tells you in the description that this is not a pipe smell, but that of the tobacco flower. That would be why you were disappointed in the scent.
  22. I used to be an avid NG user in the early years...until I started trying oils from other suppliers. I think once you get a taste for oils that are stronger it's hard to go back to ones that now seem weak in comparison. Now don't get me wrong, NG still has a few good ones out there that I still use -- but I went from using them solely to only carrying about a dozen or so of their oils. Their quality just doesn't seem as good as it once was...
  23. If you don't hold firm to your policies, what's the point of having them? I had to teach this to myself -- once I got over the fear of getting a bad feedback, bad review, etc. I was much happier. There's not one person on the planet who doesn't understand that you're just going to have 'those people' that you cannot please no matter what you do. We all know that word-of-mouth is the best form of advertising. Consider this: you give in and the lady then tells all of her friends (and posts on her blog) that all you have to do is complain that you didn't receive an item from a particular seller (in this case, you) and she'll send you another one at no charge! Now you have a hoard of deceivers on your hands. I don't know about you, but I say NO THANK YOU to that!! Hold your ground! ;-)
  24. All of them is a good place to start I really love her oils!!
