I personally hate all bread scents, but we used to carry Fresh Baked Bread from The Candle Source --- everyone loved it, but they just make me gag...can't sell 'em cuz I just can't handle the smell :\

BEAR CLAWS BB -- doesn't smell like Bear Claws ((too much chocolate)) -- get the one from ICS...drool!! BLONDE MOMENT BB -- smells like sweet tart candy ... very good throw! Vanilla Buttercreme Crunch -- it's been one of my best sellers for years! Caramel Cinnamon Latte Fragrance Oil -- strong and delicious!! Cactus and Sea Salt Fragrance Oil -- my new personal favorite - so clean and fresh! Lemon Sugar Fragrance Oil Type -- this one is okay ... better suited for b&b Red Mac Apple - NEW Fragrance Oil -- LOVE this oil!! One of the best apple scents I've ever used. Flip Flops Fragrance Oil -- wasn't strong enough for my liking Chestnuts and Brown Sugar Fragrance Oil -- another year 'round favorite! Vanilla Bean NOEL New Fragrance Oil Type -- the absolute BEST vbn you'll ever find!!

I never bothered to put it into wax, but OOB it smelled just like all of the other floral rain type scents. I didn't care for it.

Just an FYI, Lumberjack smells NOTHING like you think -- it's not a wood scent at all! Not sure why it was ever named that... Anyway, Forest Nymph from MW smells ALOT like Bert's Redwood & Cedar - it's my all-time favorite woodsy scent!!

You can't go wrong with Candlewic -- I've only had a few oils so far that were too light for wax. Most are very good oils (at least from there Ultimate scent list)

The OMH actually stays a nice light tan color

I've tried quite a few of her oils, and while I do love them, most are suited better for b&b as they're too light in wax. These are too light in wax IMO: Cashmere Sage Devoted Greek Isle Mahogany Woods Cupid / Sweet Dreams Hillbilly Homestead General Store

Butt Naked (does discolor), Oatmeal Milk & Honey, and Nag Champa are the only three we've ever soaped -- but they all do very well.

To me, Zucchini Bread smells like feet!! Oh it makes me sick and dread every time I have to repour them...

The one from Greenleaf is available at Southwest Candle Supply -- it's the EXACT same

Haven't smelled the one from JS or NG, but Beach Daisies from Peak is out of this world strong!!

I 2nd what Barbara said -- Forest Nymph is about as close as you'll ever get

In wax the Apple Butter does have a strong apple cinnamon smell, but you can really smell the buttery notes too! I love TCS oils!!!

It turns out I had a sample of the Candle Source's spearmint OOB it smells very nice -- gonna try to get it put into wax very soon! Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the offer, but I've crossed MC off my suppliers list...

I've seen a couple suppliers that carry a straight Spearmint FO -- anyone have recommendations on who has the strongest?? I'm looking for one that smells just like spearmint candy. TIA

The "iced" they're referring to is meant to be the same as "chilled or frozen" not sweet like icing/frosting -- I still have this oil and the 'whisper of camphor' inside is what makes this oil so unique. Adding peppermint will not give you the same results. I've tried lots of cranberry oils, and this is by far the best!

We have a full basement as our workshop so the only time it really gets unbearable is when I'm drying incense -- the smell goes up the stairs, out the doors, and all the way to Walmart 7 miles away, I think ;-) Just tell them it's better than having your house smelling like dirty gym shoes -- see, things can always be worse!

Steve, it's not just you -- over the years, I have seen a HUGE decline in quality of oils from companies I've always loved (NG, CS, etc). I just recently purchased about a dozen samples from CS -- what a disappointment! About two years ago I started branching out and trying other vendors (CandleWic, Connie's, BW, SG, and a handful of others). I've found a few keeper oils from each, but it's become less cost effective to buy five oils from here and five oils from there when I used to be able to buy dozens of oils from one supplier. It's getting harder and harder to "woo" our customers :\

AH/RE (formally KY's) Fresh Peach -- it is seriously like biting into a fresh peach!! Good and strong too

I personally wouldn't bother -- JS has the absolute truest and best VBN ... it even smells better than the original version from BBW!!

I would have to say that cinnamon is one of the spices involved in Spiced Pear -- BUT -- I used to have Bert's Fresh Pear. It was super strong and fruity (smelled more like green apple jolly rancher than pear to my nose) so you're probably going to need a variety of spices to tone it down and be able to get that true spiced pear scent. You could start with just adding cinnamon, but just make sure it's the bakery/foody cinnamon and not the candy cinnamon (like red hots). Once you blend those two you may be able to figure out what's missing. It may require even a dash of vanilla to help blend and tone down the scent. You can always try a dash of clove in there too. You'll have to keep us posted on your progress Good Luck!

Regardless of whether you have candle nose or not, one thing is for absolute certain -- you will NEVER please everyone! Some prefer a light throw, some prefer a strong throw. Some have small living spaces, some live in big houses. You could have 20 testers for the same candle and you'll more than likely get 20 different reviews. At the end of the day, the candles you make and sell simply need to meet YOUR standards. Some will love them and some won't, but if you spend extra time trying to appease everyone's taste ... well, good luck with that ;-)
