  1. I do not understand how it is that one has a good batch and one has a bad batch b/c it was my understanding that both Farmhouse and C&S get their wax from the same manufacturer. I will never buy wax from C&S again. I have been burned too many times.
  2. I dont have to do second pours but if you are getting air pockets under the wick then I would say Ditto to what island girl said. Let your first pour set up and then do your second pour and that should suffice your problem.:smiley2:
  3. Thanks.....my gut told me to go with the 50/50 since that is what I am used to.
  4. I feel like a chicken with it's head cut off!!!! My daughter has been sick all week with the flu and 102 fever. I have a show on Sunday that I do not feel like doing. I do however have a big show on December 2 that I am excited about. I am expecting my grubby candle molds to arrive tomm and I want to get busy making those. I hope ya'll all have a great and profitable weekend.
  5. Lynn I have used the candle shade toppers like you (with the stars and hearts) on my mason jar candles and I have used the witch hat toppers for my pumpkin jars and I have never had a problem with them. I actually find they burn cleaner with the toppers since obviously all of the soot catches in the top. I have the snowman jar and the hat, I will have to try it and see how it does for me. I have occassionaly run into the problem where a wick here and there will not light or stay lit. Try your other toppers and see how those do. Maybe there is not enough oxygen getting into the hat to stroke the flame.
  6. I pour at 170 and I use the CD's. You will love this wax!!! It has an excellent throw both cold and hot and it burns really clean. (which I love) Take the plunge, I know you will love it!!!
  7. This is the new wax from Justscents. They said it is their new preferred blend. Has anyone tried it? I am wondering if I want to try that vs. getting her 50/50 blend. (which I love):rolleyes2 :tiptoe:
  8. Please help!!! I am looking for electric grubby molds.
  9. I have learned to always put my color blocks back in the bags they came in b/c if I want red or what I think is red and I grab that block and my apple candles come out brown there really is no way to correct that kind of thing.
  10. I ordered and paid for 2 molds from flexiblemolds and I was wondering where they were in transit since the email that I got from them said they would ship in 1-2 business days. Well it is been three days and I emailed them to get a tracking number only to find out that they have not been shipped. She said that they dont always have everything in stock......and did I want to cancel my order. She did not mention if one was not in stock or both. I am sooooo mad b/c I needed them b/4 Sunday. I emailed her back to ask if one or both were out of stock and have yet to hear from her. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANYWHERE ELSE I CAN GET THE SILICONE SNOWMAN FACED MOLD????? UPDATE: They emailed again and they have them both and are shipping them today.
  11. I have never experienced the wet spots with the J50. What temp are you pouring at?
  12. Using the max 1.5oz pp will only make it harder for you to wick your candles and they will also mushroom and smoke more. Not worth it for me just to get a little more umf. I have never had any of these problems:rolleyes2 when I have used 1.5, I guess it depends on what fo/wax combo you are using.
  13. I am told this is the same wax that C&S calls 1275. I love that wax and will start buying from Farmhouse now. Thanks for the insight.
  14. I will second all of the ewwww's with a big fat GROSS!
  15. I went to CJ Robinson's website and they have a better deal for the public on wicks, but their wax is outrageous unless you buy it in seriously large quanities. I did ask them if they have had problems with the 1275 and if they have received a lot of complaints and she said quite frequent. I guess I will take the plunge and get it again but this time from Becky.......I hate the fact that I might have another problem! I think I will start getting my wicks from them. They have much better prices and I can get larger quanities.
  16. I can really tell how mad u are and I have sooo been there. I took back a lot of candles that I sold and replaced them with new ones and had to explain I cannot tell you how many times to how many people why my candles were not burning the way they usually do. It was frustrating and embarassing! I know how ya feel b/c I did not want to have to test another wax either but I also dont want to waste money on another batch of that wax and have it work the same way. It would be different if I was just wasting wax on their dime but it's my dime and my fo's, wicks and my business that is on the line. Have you talked to Cindy? When I called they pretended like they did not know anything about a problem with the 1275 and then I found this site and starting reading threads and figured out what was going on.
  17. Ok, thank you for the info. I dont have any vybar (actually never used it) so I wonder if I can pick that up at a craft store or like Michaels?
  18. I have to tell u that the throw on this bad boy is wonderful!!!! I am totally impressed that after 4 days it still smells as good as it did when I bought it. I may have to try making mine with this stuff.
  19. Have ya'll ever heard of Gulf Wax?? It is in the canning dept at Walmart. The lady that made the electric candle that I have made it with Gulf Wax? What do ya'll know about it?
  20. I push it to the max.....I add between 1 and 1.5 pp depending on the scent since some are stronger than others. On the ones like Home Sweet Home and Baked Apple I only need to add 1 oz pp. :tiptoe:
