  1. I can always order a votive in the scents I like and send it to him. Thanks for the info.
  2. I am glad that I found you all to talk to.... I am going to order some and see how I like it. I really do not mind the frosting, my biggest thing is the scent throw both hot and cold. I want to still be able to offer my customers a great smelling candle that burns even and clean. Thanks y'all.
  3. Do you really like this wax? I am thinking of switching to it. I use 50/50 blend and the prices are getting too high plus my supplier is discontinuing it so I have to either find a different wax or a new supplier and the latter is not possible.
  4. Ok, two things: Does anyone know where I can get a dupe of Candleberry's Hot Maple Toddy scent? I love that one! I cannot find a maple syrupy scent that compares. Two: Does anyone know what type of wax that candleberry uses?
  5. I buy them from candlesandsupplies.com they are like $4.99 for 12 without lids and then I buy the lids for .20 cents each from them as well. I
  6. I have been using a 50/50 blend but it has gotten too expensive so I want to switch to 100% soy or close to 100%. I found the Golden Soy 464 and it has a creamy appearance but all the benefits of soy. DO any of you have any advice???
  7. I have seen those scented rings with electric candles......I know the purpose but how many of you actually make yours with those?
  8. When ever I make Baked Apple Pie electrics the fo bleeds out....it only happens with BAP. How much fo do you add to yours?
  9. Looking for a good Christmas scent. I am snowy pined out even though I still love it...I need new ideas!! Please help.
  10. Ladies...thank you! Chauna, I sent you an email. Let me know what size they are.
  11. There was a lady on here that uses the same candle pans I do. I use them to sit my electric candles on. They have a handle on the side and the edges are crimped sort of. I need them asap, if you know of anyone who has any let me know.
  12. I purchased an electric candle from ABC b/c I liked the way it looked and I like to try and imitate new things but I am really puzzled on this one....it looks as if they have a pillar inside and have coated the outside with frosting. Since I have only made the traditional ones I have no clue how to do this one. Any thoughts?
  13. I bought grubby molds from flexiblemolds.com and there molds are a little harder to get the candles out at first but once you get the hang of it, it is a piece of cake. Like the other poster said, it really is trial and error. Try it and see!!
  14. I have purchased molds from flexiblemolds.com in the past and am looking at buying some more but wanted to buy a few more and I stumbled across soapandcandlemolds.com, I seem to recall on here someone saying that one company had been taking money for orders and not shipping them out......which company was that?
  15. I wanted to try my hand at soap making and I thought the melt and pour kind would be an easy no frills start......I am going to try making the gold fish in a bag soap. What do you all think? Any ideas??
  16. I really like Farmhouse's 50/50 blend! It has an awsome scent throw both cold and hot and it burns even and fairly clean.
  17. I love Lonestar!!! Partyowl~ GO get you some good stuff and see what results you get in comparison to what you have got now.....I am sure you will never buy generic candle supplies again.
  18. Roma~ I am not getting into the whole soy vs. paraffin thing but I have been using a blend of paraffin and soy for many yrs and I do not have any health problems. I used 100% paraffin before that. Believe what everyone is telling you about the FO's.....think about it, you are heating a liquid that is emitting a scent into the air, even though it smells good there are certain toxins in it that can cause harm if you are not in a well ventilated area. As with anything....cleaning solutions....do you clean with straight bleach in a closed room and does it burn your eyes? YEA! Is it good for you to breathe? NO. As for cancer with out smoking......ya know there are millions of kids under the age of 4 who have cancer and I dont think they have ever smoked. Not to mention they are not candle makers either. People will tell you anything these days to make money. How do you know this man actually has cancer??? Was he on a respirator? What did he do to convince you that he had cancer other than just letting you know? This is not sarcasm it is simply stating the obvious.
  19. My first feeling is that you poured too hot. But it sounds like deb is on to something to. Is this wax from a craft store?
  20. Congrats to you on your first baby! It is addictive!! Too bad you cannot post pics....I would love to see your finished product.
  21. I made 50 tins this evening of Apple Pie Warm Pumpkin Crunch Snowy Pine Gingerbread Sugar Cookie My daughter came in and demanded that I STOP making candles that smell like food. She thought I was making cookies and was really upset that it was candles instead.
  22. I was not referencing to the pics as my explanation for frosting used on rustics. Just used that pic for her to have a mental image to see what the frosting looked like. Thanks for clearing it up for her though.
  23. Thank you. I do not have any stearic on hand so I will wait til tomm to go get some gulf wax. I have been using that for my transparent candles and love it.
  24. I know that I have read on here that some people have used 50/50 to make the electric grubbies.....I was going to try this since I am out of votive wax. I am afraid it may be too soft for electric's..... anyone else used a blend for these?
