  1. They replaced it with IGI 4630 and it sucks!!! They actually did not offer to replace it with the same wax. I think they did not want to take a chance on sending out another bad batch! I have been using that blend though for about 4 yrs and I hate the idea of trying out another one. Did you just recently purchase your?
  2. Denise..... I am sooo sorry, I totally understand how angry you are. I had to throw out 120 candles in addition to the amount of fo's and wicks that I wasted testing those over and over again to see what was wrong. I totally feel like they should have replaced my fo's too but I never asked. They did replace my wax with one I will never use again. :undecided
  3. Which blend would you recommend using from this company?? I usually use the 1275 blend from C&S. It is a one pour blend. Anything there comparable like the 6006?
  4. Candlebuddy: Have you had any issues with yours?? I was about to place another order for the 1275 but I think I will wait. Where is Farmhouse? DO they have a web site? Although I remember another thread that one of the others that use 1275 said she recently ordered it and it is fine now so I am not sure if it is a hit or miss kind of thing. My candles were tunneling NO matter what I did, no matter how I wicked them and then sometimes the wicks just drowned out completely. Are you having any tunneling?:tiptoe:
  5. When did you buy that batch of wax?? The reason being is I purchased 1275 wax as have others on this site and after having the problems you are explaining it was discovered that we all got bad batch's. Cindy replaced mine as well as some others. It is nothing you are doing!!!! Call C&S and tell them that you feel you have gotten a bad batch and you are aware of others on your candle forum that have experienced the same. DO NOT waste any more fo's on this batch of wax, it seems to be no good. Check this out: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34787
  6. I love your label!!!!! That is the same color that i make my cool citrus basil. Hmmm, great minds think alike.
  7. Did you get your wax from Michaels or a local craft store?? Try this http://www.candleandsoapstuff.com/Suppliers_by_State.html
  8. The 4630 is a biotch to wick!!! I use the 16 oz mason jars and used 4630 and could not succesfully wick that sucker to save my life!!!!! The tunnelling is bizarre. The 51 is for 2.5 to 3.5 in and the mason jars have a 3 in mouth and a 4 inch base all the way around. I use the 60-44-18 when I use zinc. The fact that your wick drowned out is it is too small to cover the circumference of your jar. Also, it could be clogged..... but you said you only used 8% and 4630 holds up to 10%. Bizarre. Wick up and see if that helps. If not then maybe your wick is clogged and your fo and wax are not working together. Hang in there.
  9. I pesonally like the CD wicks. Have not tried any of the others that you are using....but there are some threads about the eco wicks and them not working well with some wax's. Check those out if you can but as far as the CD's., I would start out with a 12. :smiley2:
  10. try this http://www.candleandsoapstuff.com/Suppliers_by_State.html and see what you come up with but stay away from www.soapsandcandlemolds.com they have a bad rap lately. :tiptoe:
  11. Someone else on here was using Eco 8 in soy too with the jelly jars. Do a search and see if you can find her thread and maybe ya'll can help each other. Sorry I could not help any further. I use a blend with mason jars.
  12. I have used cotton wicks but dont know of any with a red strand in the middle. Have you tried calling or emailing some of the candle co's to ask??
  13. Ditto on the too much fo!! I use 1 to 1.5 pp of oil b/c I know that my wax can hold it but not all waxes are formulated to hold more than 8%. When you add more than what it can hold the fo has a tendency to leak and cause more damage than just wet spots.
  14. That is really great!!! It can be really frustrating to get to where you feel you have it mastered to a point. Although I have learned A LOT on this site even though I thought I had it down to fine tune. There are so many gifted crafters on this site that can offer wonderful and helpful advice. Take full advantage of that!!!! I do.
  15. held together with rubber bands?? I went online to flexiblemolds.com and they have descriptions that their molds are held together with a rubber band....how does that work with keeping the wax in the mold while it is still hot???
  16. Thank ya'll soooo much for letting me know about this company before they took my money as well! I am so glad that I have ya'll to count on in situations like these. I did try to call them this morning and their phone mail box is full! Imagine that?
  17. GMP.......I use the CD wicks in most all of my containers!! I do use zinc but I hate the way that they mushroom. You will also have to play with the wicking on this wax b/c it is impossible to wick just right. I noticed that all of my candles sooted really bad no matter how they were wicked. HTH
  18. Did you bag them or did you just leave them out. I usually bag mine and wait a day or so and see if the scent is overwhelming or too weak. That is also what I do when they start to lose their scent. Throw them in a bag and it usually gathers the scent so when they are opened everyone is like oooohhh ahhhh!@
  19. It seems we are communicating on two threads on the same thing.....go figure. Do you have to add anything to the KY143?? How well does it let the light go thru?
  20. Terri.......LOL Thanks for the help. What type of wax did you use. I am looking at the KY Glow and then the 4761. As for the KY 143 that you said you use, do you have to add any additives to that and does it allow the light to translute (not sure if that is really a word) thru it??
  21. That sooo does not make me feel very good b/c I am getting ready to drop $100 in molds to them. HMMMMM. :undecided
  22. It is soooo nice to know I am not the only one who is leveling out spending $$ on FO's or save it for XMAS for the kids!!!! We are not bad.
  23. What do you mean by ready to put out? Is the wick ready to exstinguish itself or it is mushroomed so badly you need to put it out?:undecided If it is ready to put itself out, it may be clogged or it is not liking your mixture of fo and wax. Do you have other wicks to try? The benefit of zinc wicks are also their downfall....they do burn cleaner but they mushroom like a champ. You may have to try another brand if you do not like the mushrooming and wick up. HTH
  24. I love the CD wicks and really do not like to use anything other than that. I am with Island girl, I would use the CD 14 and see if that works then go up to the 16 if it does not. As stated by TOP Welcome to this wonderful world of wicking!!!! Dont let it beat ya:D
  25. I went on to Ky's site and the KY Glow wax says that if you add fo that it will mottle and to play with pour temps.....what temp do you pour at with that wax and what problems do you have with it when you add fo's??
