  1. This is probably a dumb question but how long are you letting them sit before you try to pop them out?? Reason being is that I bought a couple molds and I let my impatient self get the better of me and I tried popping them out sooner than they were ready and they all broke. Then I left them alone for 6 hrs or so and then popped them out and whoola a beauty unfolded.
  2. I like this one the Best!!! Although wick dipper has a certain ring to it!
  3. I actually have made like 12 of them in the last couple of days and I am using just a straight paraffin. They look great!!!
  4. Mostly it is a blend of soy, paraffin and other additives. A lot of suppliers have their own blends that they mix together which is great for us because we dont have to mix it ourselves and we get a great product that it ready to use.
  5. I am sorry if I offended you. It was not intended.
  6. Wow......Chick that is A LOT of WAX!!!! Have fun with that. I am guessing you will be up to your eyeballs in wax tomm huh? We look forward to talking to you on Wednesday!
  7. I told you someone would come in and help ya out! Those of us that do not have your patience totally wishes you the best with that wax. Please let us know if anything you have tried works better than other methods. I still have some that I can remelt and start over with if you can get it to work right.
  8. I am looking for the cords for the electric candles, I went everywhere today looking for those things.......I found the bulbs at a local craft store they were a 2 pak for .98 cents !!!!! YEAH ME! I also cannot find candle pans that I like either. Bought some on ebay but they were too small. I need a 6 in in diameter pan. Anyone have any suggestions?
  9. I love C&S for the most part but they lost me on the bad batch of wax and made me gunshy.
  10. I figured out what I was doing wrong with the molds, not letting them sit long enough before I popped them out. Although some of them are still leaking a tad. As far as the snowman jar........I have to explain to my customers about the big 21 oz bee hive jar from C&S b/c they burn hot the first couple hrs but once they burn down to the second ring they start evening out and they burn beautifully. Since the wick is too big for the small mouth but big enough for the base ya have to sacrifice a little to get the result ya want. I am glad to hear it burning better now. Keep me posted.
  11. I am afraid that you may have a bad batch of wax sweetie. Everything you are saying really sounds like a bad batch of 1275 from C&S which is the same wax as the 50/50 from Farmhouse. I think Farmhouse gets their 50/50 from the same place as C&S, which is CJ Richardson. This would explain a lot b/c all of the wicks are drowning out and not just one type and you have wicked up and you still have the same effect then it has to be the wax. Debscent you beat me to the punch! I did not read your post until after I posted.
  12. I soooo sorry! It sucks I know. Maybe someone on here has had luck with 4630 and will share their secret.
  13. Thanks everyone for the advice......I have finally gotten it down I think??? With cutting an extra slit in them, I am guessing with the rubber band on them that they wont leak? I will try that on the snowman one. My only issue now is getting the snowmans face painted. I used acrylic paint and it peels off. I have gotten creative though by dripping wax over some of them to give them an icing effect. I am very proud of myself! I will post pics soon.
  14. That is what is soooo great about this site......we have so many different views and oppinions on our likes and dislikes that it makes it a wonderful place to gather and learn so much from so many talented and creative folks. Sorry just had to gloat on everyone!!
  15. Please share with the rest of us, I am curious what is happening. Never had a problem with this wax. I use the CD's too and the only time this wax did this was when I got a bad batch of it from C&S.
  16. Wicking down is not going to help!!! This wax soots terrible!!!! I hate this wax. No matter what I did, wick up, wick down, nothing made a difference. I do not think there is anything you can do to make a difference. I used both CD's and Zinc and I threw the stuff out. I hate soot. What kind of wicks are you using? Try using another type and see if that helps but wicking down is going to get you the same result with the candle not burning even. Try Just Scents 50/50 blend.....it burns clean and it is a one pour, you will love it.
  17. DITTO...... Just scents 50/50 BLEND!!!! Love that stuff, the throw both cold and hot is amazing and it burns so clean!!!! One pour and smooth tops, never use your heat gun again!!! You cannot go wrong with this wax.. Try the CD wicks with that and if you are using the 16 oz with 3.5 in try the CD 14's. Dont worry about your pour temps because You cannot cook the scent off!!!
  18. If your flame is too low and not reaching the circumference of your jar and you are not getting a full mp after a 3hr burn then yes I would agree that you need to wick up. BUT if you have a full mp and your wick is dying out or is burning weak then it probably means that your wick is clogged. How is the candle burning otherwise? How large is your mp? Is your candle tunneling? Need a little more info to be able to properly help you.
  19. I have tried both J50 and J225. If I had to choose between two I would choose J225. Although some people absolutely love the J50, I found it did not yield the results I wanted. I am faithful though to the 50/50 blend from Just scents. It burns clean and the throw both cold and hot is amazing!!!! Good luck with your search!
  20. Hmmmm.....dont red and orange make brown??? Hey I remember kindergarten?
