  1. Pumpkin Crumb Cake (DELICIOUS!) Blueberry Muffin (STRONG!) Fresh Linen (Awesome throw!) Downy Morning Glory & Honeysuckle (Really nice floral.. and I hate florals!) YUZU (AMAZING) Frangelico Streusel (DELICIOUS!) Mardi Gras (Fruity & Floral) Apple Orchard (Love this.. could pour this all day long!)
  2. Check out SKS as well: www.sks-bottle.com
  3. Hit them with a couple light coats of clear polyeurathane. Available in the spray-paint aisle at your local Home Depot/Lowe's (whatever your preference may be) Since you're using frosted clear labels, I'd suggest using a Matte finish Poly... instead of a 'crystal clear' or high-gloss one.
  4. 'tis the season! ...for people to completely check their common sense at the door, that is!
  5. Well, that's good that it's just camera tricks, then. Looks great.. the light color really makes the color of your candles pop out and demand your attention!
  6. I love, love, LOVE... NG'S Blueberry Muffin. CRAZY strong scent throw in 100% soy...
  7. I tried those glade scented oil candles when they first came on the market. Yep. It was nice, and threw scent all over the room. Yep. It lasted around 2-2.5 hours. Yep. It was far too expensive. What did surprise me, though... was while it filled the room with scent quickly (no false advertising there)... it didn't last. As soon as the flame went out, the scent was gone. Most of my scents last for hours after the flame is out, and a few friends and family that have some of my candles swear they can still smell a few of the scents lingering the next day.
  8. I just got a Sunflower FO from www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com for a couple candles for my boss for christmas... they're curing at the moment, and haven't had a chance to test burn one yet (she's just getting wickless ones for her office) but the cold throw is amazing. I don't know how it would perform in soap, however... but, it's worth a look, IMO.
  9. AJ - How long have you had that unit? I'd be concerned over the Ready-To-Assemble stuff (and this looks like one of those, correct me if I'm wrong) as the shelves will eventually bow underneath the constant weight of the candles. Actually, it looks like you might have some bowing on the shelves already, unless that's just some fisheye'ing from the camera lens
  10. It's pretty much a prerequisite to accept some frosting and wetspots with any soy. If a supplier somewhere had a 100% perfect no-issues blend out there... they'd be making some serious $$!
  11. I use NG's 100% soy... the Joy wax sounded promising, but I was won over by the flakes versus the slabs (SO much easier).. and the fact that I really wanted to make a 100% soy candle. It's got a learning curve to it, but I've pretty much got this sucker tamed and doing what I want it to.
  12. SKS Has the flat tins, in many sizes... http://www.sks-bottle.com/340c/fin7.html But, it would seem not a 6oz version.. they've got 4 and 8... Specialty Bottle also carries the flats, but again.. only 4 and 8, no 6's. http://www.specialtybottle.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=25 Are ya dead set on the 6'ers?
  13. I don't know if it works on liquid dye.. but hairspray takes out ink/marker like a dream. Spray some hairspray on it... fully saturate it.. and rub together... rinse under the faucet, repeat... takes it almost completely out, and after one wash, it's gone. It's worth a try.
  14. Oh, how I wish when people posted sale announcements, they'd post the link to the website, just for convienience's sake!
  15. Wingspan? Windsong? -- Are you trying to name a single fragrance, or the 'line' of fragrances?
  16. Just wanted to drag this one back up to post progress. I just poured the Crafter's Choice (which, is labeled that way on the site... I ordered from www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com -- but the bottle of FO doesn't say "Crafter's Choice" anywhere on it...) and it smells terrific in the wax. Hopefully it throws as good as it smells now. I vaguely remembered what the old Yankee Sunflower smelled like, and this was an instant reminder, so for me.. it's dead on.. hopefully my boss thinks so too! And tried out the Pink Grapefruit Crafter's Choice dye I bought as well... very pretty color! I also really like the twist-top bottle versus the flip-close dyes I've been using.
  17. There's a lot of factors here.. off vertically, horizontally, or both? If off horizontally, it's the software (what are you using?) and should be able to adjust within the program. If vertically, well, it could be either: a) the software (same as above) or the paper... is the back waxy? The rollers may not be grabbing the sheet correctly. Is your printer a top feed, or bottom tray that pulls the page up? Mine is a bottom tray feed, and I had problems with it grabbing the paper properly do to waxy backed paper.
  18. You could always make 1/2 the batch you normally do, and see how well that sells... if it's going to continue to sell, you know you've got a year-round winner for your area... if not, you can mark that scent down at an 'end of season clearance price' and be done with it until next year.
  19. I've used those cardboard bulb rings before... and they scared me... quickly turned brown and very dry. In the hands of a lazy customer, they could spell trouble.
  20. Love this! How cute... And, you could tack on (not necessarily as part of the NAME... but a tagline on a logo/webpage/etc...) "Scents & Suds" to give a bit more clue as to what you're offering. I whipped this up in Paint Shop Pro in about 5 minutes, so.. it's not gorgeous (and definetley not my best PSP work)... but I think it'd be a totally cute concept!
  21. Once you sign up with an account, (a login name, furthest upper-right corner) you recieve points for every purchase. Basically it breaks down to every dollar is a point. Your points build up and build up with each purchase. When you hit $100 of purchases, you have $1.00 worth of points as an example. You can choose to redeem your points on any purchase you wish, or continue to let them build up. It's a small reward, but the points build up fast when you order from them like I do!
  22. I've had a couple scents that just didn't work out in a small room. Tried them out in my bedroom to start out with, and got nothing. Ended up moving them to the open kitchen/living room area, and it started throwing scent around the entire house, down the hallway, and into the bedroom I originally tried the candle in. Have you yourself taken a step outside to get some fresh air in your sniffer and walking back in?
  23. Thanks for the dye info, Dani... I use soy, too... so I picked up one bottle to test it out, got the Pink Grapefruit color (needed that color anyway for a yuzu scent I'm testing.. hopefully it works out okay) And, ended up picking up a 2oz sample of the Yankee Sunflower FO.. I guess I'll just see how it does... if not, ehn... only out a couple bucks.
  24. I'm in Ohio as well, and use Nature's Garden for my wax, wicks, almost all of my FO's, among other supplies. They're extremely helpful, and friendly. And, being in Ohio, if I order before their shipments go out for the day, I'll recieve my order the next day. Edit: I've also used www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com for some packaging products, cello bags, curling twist ties and such... and they were extremely fast on the shipping as well. Haven't used any of their other products... yet.
