  1. I've read that both of these are similar, and that both smell like Amish Harvest. Which smells closest to AH from Peak? I would prefer whichever smells closest and has the spicier notes. I use J223. Also, thoughts on pumpkin creme brulee? TIA! Jenn
  2. Years ago I started with J223. Over the years I have played with a number of waxes, but I always came back to it. I use zinc wicks because I double-wick and they burn best for me when double-wicking. I started adding soy to make the wax more opaque and pull away from the jar to cut down on the crazy J223 wet spots. Lately I have been feeling like my candles aren't as strong as they used to be, so I decided to try one with no soy. Guess what--knock-ya-down scent throw! Maybe the soy was too much for my zincs. I was really only adding it for appearance, so I'll take my scent throw and the wet spots that come with it! Jenn
  3. Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookies = Hansel & Gretel's House (CS) So happy that the Amish Harvest is the same as one I have been getting from another supplier. Butterscotch Bread Pudding smelled great OOB! Cinnamon Pumpkin Bread OOB smells too heavy on the cinnamon and too light on the pumpkin, but to me all pumpkin oils change in wax (ones I love OOB smell off to me when burning in J223/464).
  4. I got some samples from Candles and Supplies and Candlewic and yesterday I poured: Pomegranate Cider (CS) - LOVE! Oakmoss & Amber (CS) - UNDECIDED Sugared Vanilla Shortbread(CW) - LOVE! and I have yet to pour these samples: Holiday Frost (CW) Toffee Apple Cider (CW) - like it OOB but don't know if it seems strong Caramel Apple (CW) - didn't smell like I thought it would OOB Snickerdoodle (CW) Holly Berry (CS)
  5. OMG guys! How funny! Okay, so you know I am doing this, right? And I am totally stealing one of these awesome names. Reindeer Toe Jam or Elf Toe Jam?
  6. Yum! I have two jars of Mistletoe test-burning in the living room and two of Cranberry Marmalade in the family room. Love them both, but when I come down the stairs I smell both and I LUUUUUUVVVV it! Does anybody mix the two? (Oh, both from CS) Jenn
  7. Hello all! Hope you've all been well. I know I have been MIA for a while now. I do peak in and read though! Too much work and too many kids! (haha...5 yo, 4 yo and 2 yo plus working from home keeps me busy!) I am still making candles, but only for a holiday open house. I have scaled back and I am only offering a handful of scents. I am in need of an apple scent for my J223/464 wax combo. Of course I would love one with a great throw, and I would really love to find one from either Candlescience (where I am ordering most of my oils from) or Candles and Supplies or Candlewic (both local and I order waxes and jars from). Seems that Apple Harvest from CS is a consideration. Any other ideas? Don't want a straight apple like Mac Apple...something with a touch of spice or crust or both, but it doesn't necessarily have to be an Apple Pie. Thanks so much!!! Jenn
  8. the candles and the pics are just beautiful!!!
  9. Hi there...another question. With these tumblers, I have dug out some old CBL-129 from Candlewic. It pulls away completely so it looks beautiful before burning. Better than my J223 mix does. But while burning the wax expands and touches the glass, but only at the top of the wax near the flame. It looks fine while burning but after it doesn't look so wonderful. The throw is incredible, as is the burn, but it gets a bubbly appearance on the outside of the wax. Am I being too particular? I'll take a pic and post it in case I am not being clear in my description. Jenn
  10. Hey there everyone...it's been a while! I have been doing J223/464 in apothecary jars, double wicked with zinc. I get a very nice throw from them...I have been very pleased. But I just love the look of tumblers and have played on and off with them, but I would like to get serious about it and start using them. So, my question is, is it unrealistic to think that I will get a throw out of a tumbler that is comparable to my apothecary jars double-wicked? And for those that use zinc wicks in a tumbler (3"w) what od you use? 51z? 44 (32 or 24)? Thanks! Jenn
  11. I am playing...thinking I might try getting back into the swing of things by late spring/early summer. Three kids and working from home keep me pretty busy!!
