  1. WOW, Kathy & Sawyer's moon! Thanks so much, this is exactly the response I was looking for. I did many searches with the boards search function and could only find answers related to Cyclo, FCO, and FO...you have been a tremendous help with this!! Thank you for sharing and God Bless! David
  2. Maybe I'm just going to the wrong forums, but nobody seems to be able to help me with my questions, so hopefully the bath/body people can help me out here? I'm looking to make fragrance roll-on's in 1/3 oz bottles. I have 4 questions: 1)Can I use the FO's from any supplier (daystar, MC, JbN) as long as they're deemed body safe? 2 )I'd like to use FCO since I don't like the greasiness of Jojoba oil. What percantage of FO do I need and what percentage of FCO do I need? 3) I would like to add a little bit of another carrier oil (with a long shelf-life) because of the dryness of the FCO, which would you recommend and what percent 'other oil' should I add to the FO/FCO mixture? (I was looking on oilsbynature.com, and there are so many oils listed...I don't mind an expensive oil since it will be for mine and family use only) 4) Can I use them right away or is there a curing time? Thanks for any answers, much appreciated!

  5. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. The second-hand store was a good idea and painting an old entertainment center, but I think the cart from Sam's Club is exactly what I'm looking form Much thank for the photo.
  6. First of all, I apologize if I'm in the wrong section. I would like to make a few home fragrance oils for myself to use in my oil burner. Here's what I have to start: several 1 oz cobalt blue dropper bottles, and many Daystar and MC fo's I'm confused with what I've found on here so far as far as home fragrance oils go. So...to make my home fragrance oils in the cobalt blue bottles, do I add water to the FO's or a carrier oil? If so, which one? TIA,
  7. I will be selling candles in my home to the local people and freinds/co-workers...however I can't seem to find a good display that will hold my candles without breakingsanta frow . I tried the cheap bookshelf with 5 shelves and the particle board warped and, OH, what a mess afterwards. So...any advice on what kind of reasonable priced heavy duty shelving units I can buy to hold my container candles (about 200 of them) would be much appreciated...websites? stores? I'm not looking for shelves to nail to the walls, either, just a big display rack with several shelves. Thanks again, David
  8. I plan on curing my soy container candles for at least 2 weeks for maximum scent throw (10 oz elevated glass jar)...I'm wondering if it's ok to cure the candles with the lids on or without? I just don't want any dust or animal hair floating in there over the 2 weeks. Any suggestions for how to cure would help. Thanks;)
  9. I'm going to attempt my first batch of candles with soy wax. I have a heat gun and 8 oz glass jars. 2 questions: For preheating: 1)Where do I point the heatgun (on which part of the glass..inside, ouside?) 2)How long (seconds or minutes) do I blast the candles with the heat gun to have a good preheated jar? Thanks in advance for your help. I did a search in the FAQ and in the search component on this website but didn't find any info for preheating.
  10. Hi! I am a newbie candle maker (not for selling, but for home use) and I've been looking around on this site for a while now for good fragrance companies to order Soy Candle FO's from. I'm really into woodsy/earthy scents, like Cedar/Sandalwood/Amber. I ordered from Wellington (before I read the bad reviews on here!:undecided )...haven't received the order yet, but in the meantime, I'd appreciate some advice on excellent quality fragrance oils for candles...I looked at Peak and a few others but can't find any with a good amount of unisex scents except Wellington. Suggestions are appreciated.
