  1. Looking for a supplier that has a bunch of great fo's to try. Need to dive into some new and interesting things for my line, but.. shipping being as it is, I need a bunch of stuff to try out from one or two suppliers, rather than one thing from 50! Looking around myself right now, but any quick replies from anybody on right now would be greatly appreciated! :highfive:
  2. NG's is amazing.. love it love it love it. Great throw in soy, too!
  3. Hahah... I think it's more of a favorite, for the moment... I always find new favorites!
  4. Pouring a big batch of Millcreek's Birthday Cake right now... delicious. NG's Fresh Fruit Slices is another personal favorite of mine. A custom blend I'm working on right now that mixes NG's Mandarin Tiki with some other things is turning out downright heavenly.
  5. I'm testing Millcreek's Juicy Watermelon right now.. and loving it so far... terrific throw in 100% soy.
  6. Millcreek's Birthday Cake... is.... amazing. I just got done raving about it in my Millcreek thread a little bit ago.
  7. Birthday Cake FOR THE WIN! This stuff is incredible! I just poured them yesterday, and got impatient.. burning a votive of the birthday cake now... and love it... can't wait till it has time to cure more.. but it's got a pretty decent throw after only 24 hours. Butterscotch is pretty tasty smelling.... looking forward to burning that. Same goes for the Cotton Candy... recently got a sample of NG's Cotton Candy, and was thoroughly unimpressed with the lack of hot throw. Hoping that this fares much better. Cherry Lemonade.. I'm undecided... doesn't smell anything like what I was expecting. Gonna have to wait and see on that one. Going to let it cure properly before I even attempt it. Juicy Watermelon is really nice... letting that one cure properly as well, but loving the cold throw.
  8. As I said above... I am in love with their Lemon Verbena... when I ordered that, I also got samples of their Rainforest (just okay for me... nothing to write home about), the Boss In Motion dupe (barely any hot throw in 100% soy), and Jean Paul Gaultier dupe... (pretty strong throw)
  9. Using them in 100% soy candles... possibly in some body wash or lotion base.
  10. I ordered a few sample oils from MYS a while back.. and only one of them really knocked my socks off... their Lemon Verbena. I've decided I want to order more of it, and looking for anything else from them I might want to give a try. Really searching for great summery scents right now, but I'm open to suggestions on any must-haves.
  11. Anyone else try this Tayberry & Teakwood FO? The user reviews rave about this scent (on the NG page) except for one review who didn't like it. Well, lump me in with them.. cuz this is NASTY. I can't stand to burn the tester I poured of it. Pouring it was disgusting enough. Smells like old lady and cat urine. I decided maybe it was a 'too much of a good thing' situation where pouring it was much more intense than burning it.. so I gave it a try and burned it for a few hours yesterday. WRONG. Still old lady and cat urine. The iced pineapple smelled fantastic OOB... fantastic in the wax... fantastic in cold throw. Hot throw is fine if you're standing right next to the candle... otherwise the remainder of the room smells like burning plastic. Nasty. First two oils I've got from NG that have really disappointed me.
  12. I heard from a coworker that Yankee has a new Vanilla Lime that "is to die for"... I've yet to smell it, but she's down my throat to dupe it for her.
  13. I love love love NG's Vanilla Pear.... throws awesome in 100% soy.
  14. Looking for some sweet summer scents, and grabbed a couple samples from MillCreek... any opinions/reviews on these? Birthday Cake Butterscotch Brittle Cherry Lemonade Cotton Candy Juicy Watermelon
  15. I use plain 415 soy... and use liquid dye... great color, easy to duplicate from batch to batch... just keep good notes!
  16. Having some problems with that too. First one I played with was Caramel Corn FO, and it burned beautifully, no problems with lighting or anything. After that one was done, did one with Blueberry Muffin FO.. and it's not staying lit for anything... so, it's in turn tunnelling really badly, and it's just a nightmare. I've yet to test more than these two.. but I'm wondering if different FO's have a significant effect on the way it burns.
  17. I've been playing with the WSP wood wicks lately too.. been using them in a 12oz metro, however... and the first one I did burned beautifully. The second one, however, is not faring so well... I honestly think it's due to the FO. I posted a thread about it a week or so ago, but got no replies. And yep, the wick just falls into the wax when there's about 3/4 inch of wax left and extinguishes itself. I also only had a faint crackling of the wick.. but man, it puts off an awesome scent throw!
  18. Spa was the first thing that came to my brain when I read that, too... Herbal Spa or something along those lines. Soothing Herbal Spa? It sounds soothing, anywho... what with the chamomile and lavender...
  19. I just poured a sample of NG's Mandarin Tiki last night.. I'm in love.. nice, bright citrus scent that really wakes up the nose.
  20. As much anti-paraffin propaganda there has been by SOME of the soy chandlers, I figure it would only be a matter of time before there was some sort of retaliation.... I figure that time is now, and shown in your post above. I'd have to see some substantiated evidence before I buy a word of that. Sure, some colors are difficult to achieve with soy, and "turn white over time" could be a nasty way to describe post-burn frosting... but I've yet for it to be "known to lose it's fragrance"... I'm no expert... but that's my $0.02
  21. Looking for anyone else who's been playing with some of the wooden wicks around the market nowadays. I picked up a dozen of them from WSP... and poured my first few jars of it using my standard fragrance load, in 100% soy wax, and normal amounts of colorant. The first jar I poured was a Caramel Corn scent.. and it burned absolutely beautifully. Nice, even burn... with extremely little sooting (as compared to the WoodWicks I've seen IRL and pictures of other's on here). The 2nd and 3rd jars, I poured using a Blueberry Muffin FO... and I cannot keep the darn thing lit. I poured two jars, one re-using the same jar that I used for the Caramel Corn one.. and the other I re-used an 'official' WoodWick hourglass jar. The one that I had re-used from Caramel corn initially wouldn't stay lit for very long, and ended up tunnelling down pretty badly. It finally caught up with itself over the next two burns, and brought itself back down to a nice level surface... and it won't stay lit at all now! It'll light for maybe 5-10 minutes, then puts itself out. Same goes for the reused WW hourglass jar... it's only staying lit for around 5-15 minutes at a time, and is now beginning to look like it's going to tunnel just like the previous one did. I'm assuming it's this FO, as the Caramel Corn FO burned absolutely beautifully from start to finish... just wondering if anyone else who's been playing with these lately has run into any similar problems.
  22. NG is fantastic, check the user reviews for each individual oil for a quick heads up. WSP has a couple great oils that I'm using right now.
  23. I use plain 415 soy... and heating my jars prior to pouring actually made the frosting worse than pouring into room-temp jars. You'll find as many different answers on how to pour as their are users here, though. Try it out a few ways and see what works best for you!
  24. Nature's Garden Downy Vanilla Lavender... awesome throw in soy
  25. Frangelico is an awesome scent.. but I agree with justcountry, it does require a lil' bit more cure time to really reach it's peak... but SO worth it. The ones I've tried from the rest of your list: 4 Leaf Clover is good, strong clean smell... a lot of people say "I'd love this for my bathroom", but it is kind of 'soapy' smelling. I hated Country Bumpkin with a passion... made me gag over and over again. Then again, I also hate sweet potatoes with fiery balls of rage.. so that might have had something to do with it. .... Others that I've tried and LOVED but you don't have listed here (in no particular order) : Apple Orchard, Kama Sutra-In The Mood, Yacht Club, Bird of Paradise, Fresh Fruit Slices (MY FAVORITE right now), oh... and I could go on...
