  1. one suggestion, since you asked for them... and I know it wouldn't show but on the top, and only pre-burn.. but you might wanna play with marbled colors.. I think it would look awfully sweet with the marbled container!
  2. I LOVE them! I'd like to see a black one w/ white marble stripes through it (if it's possible)... they're like art pieces. I wouldn't mind having a few of those around my house! I take it that the insides are all glazed and such to not absorb the FO.. wow... they're incredible. If you ever wanna get rid of a couple, let me know!
  3. I know if the flashpoint is low, it can't go by air, and must be shipped by ground... but what point that is, I'm not sure.
  4. I'm intrigued, after seeing it so many times... what is it about creme brulee that you guys don't like? I love pouring that one. That, and Apple Orchard.. mm.. I could pour that one all day long. We should have a thread of scents you LOVE to pour to run alongside the gag-o-rama thread
  5. Same here... well, slightly more... I do 1oz to 13oz of wax... so 7.69% Excellent throws, easy measuring.
  6. I actually think a double wick in that jar would be very pretty!
  7. Henry- I let mine get a little thicker than that pic, and take back up to a little thinner than that pic... And it's working out great for me. Once, I did let it go too far, and it was nearly completely solid, and took it back up to where I normally do, and it still turned out perfectly.
  8. Hahahh... well, that's some patent they've got there. I like to call it "Losing track of time"
  9. Hmmm... these were poured and only set up long enough to be solid between layers... and they meshed well together. The only really ugly part is the frosting on the bottom layer where I tried the heat-gun approach. The line between the pumpkin and the creme brulee came out very nice (albiet a little wavy... didn't get a perfectly level pour on that layer) and the line between the creme brulee and the frangelico is nice and crisp and straight... I might try the day-between-layers thing.. but I think this worked out fine. What was the reason for a day wait between layers?!?
  10. That sounds really interesting! What's the ratio of mint to lemon?
  11. Hope it works for you as well as it works for me! Be sure to let me know! The next time I pour, (if I remember) I'll bust out the digital camera and take pictures of the stages I let it get to, then take it back up to before pouring.
  12. So, the other day while pouring, and waiting for my wax to get to the slush stage, I came in the other room to check email and such. Ended up getting caught up on the computer longer than expected, and came back to find I'd gone past slush, and straight to Slurpee stage! The pot seriously looked like I had gone to 7-11 and filled it up! In a panic to get it back to where I needed it to be, I dunked it back into the double boiler, and stirred constantly until it got back to the much more melted, translucent, beginning slush-stage (which only took around a minute or less), and poured.... figuring I had gone and poured the worst batch of candles ever. Quite the opposite, actually. Came out with the smoothest, cleanest looking tops I've ever got from this wax... (I'm using NG 100% Soy, and only use a UV Inhibitor, no other additives) and I've been pouring that way ever since! They're consistently turning out with beautiful tops. Smooth, pretty, with no pitting. Occasionally, I'll still get some frost on the top (with certain colors... oranges/browns and greens seem to be the worst) but it's more of a slightly-lighter color frost than the rest of the wax, rather than the ugly pure-white frosting. Frosting around the sides of the jars is non-existant. Just wanted to share this happy little accident... it sure has made working with this wax a LOT more pleasant experience... and no more constant "watching-the-pot" for the exact pour-moment.
  13. I've been using the Spectrum Liquid dyes from NG, and have been very happy with them so far.
  14. Malaki: The Downy Vanilla Lavender? Oof... I like it, I really do... but (as I said in the "FO's That Make You Gag" thread...) it quickly turns from 'ooh, I like this!' to 'OMG OPEN A WINDOW NOW!' It's a really nice lavender (which is saying a lot for me, since I HATE florals), and I *do* like it... as a single candle... pouring a bunch at once it headache-inducing! Just a warning!
  15. I've been itching to try the "Independent" from their 'political' line.. it sounds so good... and the Yacht Club is another I've been wanting to try.
  16. Had the urge to start playing tonight, and since I've never attempted a layered soy before, eh.. why not? The bottom layer got side-frosted really badly. I had the bright idea to zap it with the heat gun to make a perfectly level edge for the next layer to rest on top of.. clearly, that was a bad idea... :rolleyes2 The layers aren't perfectly level, but, again... this was my first try at layering 100% soy.... and basically did it as a learning experience. It's 3 of my favorite autumn scents... the top is Pumpkin Crunch Cake, Creme Brulee in the middle, and Frangelico Streudel at the bottom. Can't wait to burn it and see how they blend together!
  17. Country Bumpkin is horrid... I don't like the OOB smell, the pouring smell, or even the cold smell... nor do I even want to THINK about lighting it to see what the hot smell is like.... I'm sure I won't like that, either. I don't understand how it's getting such rave reviews. Totally stinks like a$$ if you ask me.
  18. melted weight and unmelted weight are the same thing... if you've got a pound of flakes, you should have a pound melted.
  19. I haven't tried the cobbler... but the muffin is fantastic.. and throws like CRAZY.... I think my review is still the last one on there (The NG site -- look for the one from "Jeffrey") and you can see what I had to say about it.
  20. maybe try it with some creme brulee?
  21. I like it! I'm not big on country/prim looks.. but that would definetly go over well with those that do!
  22. Florals, yuck.. but I could pour bakery scents all day long!
  23. Volume and weight are two very different things. I'd really suggest going and picking up a scale.
