  1. I've found a few FO's from the "Crafter's Choice" line... and a search on here didn't pull up anything. I'm particularly interested in their Yankee dupes... my boss is looking for the old Yankee 'Sunflower' scent that's apparently no longer available, and found it from them. Also, I'm interested in some of their liquid dye colors they offer.. if anyone has used any of their liquid dyes, and has any input.. I'm all ears before I order! Thanks in advance!
  2. IMO "blah-de-blah BY someone" is so overdone. I'm creatively wiped at the moment to come up with something catchy at the moment... but... yeah, I stand by my above statement... strongly.
  3. It depends on your look... I suppose. I'm a big fan of the crinkle shred stuff.... www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com has a rather large variety of colors & papers for it... I've shopped through them before, had no problems, and fast shipping! Here's the direct link to the shreds/fillers: http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/StoreCategory.aspx?CategoryID=477&CategoryName=Filler+-+Paper+%26+Wood
  4. sockmonkey, that actually wouldn't be a bad idea. Would help anyone, newbie or not, who's looking to branch out to other suppliers, who is reputable, and who to stay far, far away from...
  5. I'm definetley not a floral fan either, so picking them has become difficult. Some of the ones I've found that I *DO* like: NG's Downy Morning Glory & Honeysuckle (Hated it while pouring... ended up loving it when it was burning, go fig) NG's Downy Vanilla Lavender (Usually hate lavender scents, but really like this one... again, it's a headache while pouring, but burning it is fantastic) NG's Birds Of Paradise (Haven't poured this one yet.. just got a sample of it, and smells awesome OOB... nice slightly-tropical floral)
  6. No problem, Fire... if you need some suggestions for scents to order from NG.. let me know.. almost all of my FO's are from them!
  7. Nah, I've never tried it myself... but if it seems to like eating the wax w/ the Grandma's Kitchen scent... might as well appease to it's tastes with a little extra sumpin' sumpin' in there for it. Haha
  8. Make a special candle treat for it! A little Grandma's Kitchen FO, a little wax, and a little rat poision. Let it nibble all it wants.
  9. Hahah... I tried that... then looked at my 'spread' and thought... well, this category needs one more... and this one... and this one... and I really think this one should be in there... and this one.... might as well do this one, too....
  10. What kind of wax are you using? Some waxes require a curing time between pouring and burning in order for the scent to throw. I've found generally a week is a good starting point for the particular wax that I use. Others require only a day or two, some overnight....
  11. How about anything laying around your kitchen. A lb of flour or sugar instantly comes to mind.
  12. Okay, after letting it sit for nearly 24 hours... it's lightened up and softened some... but it still smells like CK-One to us. Now, I'm not entirely sure what Very Sexy For Women smells like, as I've not smelled it but once and that was some time ago... so, it may not be far off from that, but I've no way of judging that. But... yeah, we both stand by a CK-One (or "designer imposter" version of it, anyway.. it's very close) type scent. After sitting, I noticed the citrus notes came out a bit more and rebalanced the strong green notes when it first hit the wax... and it's a bit more delicate now (but still a strong, fresh scent..) But, yeah.. there's my critique of it. I'll post back after letting it cure for a while and let you know how it does in soy. Smells TERRIFIC cold. Fire & Ice... if you're after a CK-One type scent, you might wanna check this one out.
  13. In order to have a vibrant color, there needs to be a base. Color labels look fantastic on a white background, because the color has something to contrast against. Color printed on clear, has nothing to contrast against in order to make it vibrant. Unless you get your labels professionally done with a white undercoating printed on clear labels, with the color printed over top of the white... there's just no way you'll get a bright, vibrant color on a clear label at home.
  14. NG's Pumpkin Crumb Cake. To die for. NG's Gingerbread is also really good, and REALLY strong throw.
  15. Okay, It's mixed in the wax and cooling to slush (yay, soy! ) and still smells like CK-One to both of us. Maybe a little more 'green' now... like the aloe and ivy came out a little stronger than the OOB. I'll report back later tonight once they've been poured and had a chance to set up.
  16. Whoops.. this should be the quote going to the above post.. quoted the wrong thing! :embarasse
  17. It's definetly a CK-One scent to me OOB... both me and my pouring partner agree that it's straight-up CK-One, without a doubt. (Actually.. I questioned that it was either CK-One or CK-Be at first.. I always get them confused.. he said it's definetley CK-One) But, now you've peaked my curiosity to pour it. So, It's almost 10-pm and I'm pulling out the stuff, just to pour this one scent. HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY! j/k I'll let ya know what I think after it's in the wax.
  18. Sorry guys.. kinda forgot about this thread. Someone else asking about it made me go "Oh yeah!" Duh! It's difficult to pick out a straight top note in it.. but it's clearly a dupe of the CK-One cologne. Very citrus-y and aloe-y.
  19. Yeah, that was me looking for a name change for it. Which, I still haven't decided on one. I haven't had a chance to pour it yet... (hopefully tomorrow), but the OOB scent is a straight knock-off of CK-One cologne.
  20. My first guess would be too large of a wick, or improperly trimmed. What wax/wick are you using?
  21. ^ I have to agree with Georgia 100%. I haven't done any shows myself, yet... but I can see the situation. I would rather go up to a table with a wide selection of scents in a few different styles of jars, rather than a mish-mash of a ton of different stuff. You'd definetley look like you've got it together and perfected those few items, rather than dabbling in a bunch of stuff that is "trying to appeal to everyone at once".
  22. I'd actually go with making container candles for a candle making party... less mess, I would think... plus you don't have to worry about getting those molds to release. That'd be a nightmare if you had everyone over and it didn't work right.
  23. Wait a second... Dani misquoted a Daystar scent? Someone call Hell and see if it's snowing. hahah
