  1. Try this FAQ thread: http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Discussions;action=display;num=1112822236
  2. Try this thread out... you'll find a lot of questions and answers here: http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Discussions;action=display;num=1112822236
  3. Those are absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your info!
  4. That sounds really interesting! Or with some Fresh Fruit Slices FO...
  5. What about cross-referencing scents? An Apple-Jasmine could be double-posted under Fruit and Floral... Might be a way for someone who ONLY sticks to fruit scents to try something a bit different. And, if you post accurate descriptions, (and they actually READ ) then they'll know what they're getting.
  6. Could you tell us the size diameter container you're using, and what kind of wax/wick?
  7. NG's 4 Leaf Clover throws AMAZING in soy. ...and it's NOWHERE near the same scent as Fresh Cut Grass.. I have them both. 4 Leaf Clover is a very clean, slightly masculine soapy-scent... Fresh Cut Grass is clearly a grass scent. They're not even similar, other than the descriptions.
  8. Gingerbread seems to be a really 'opinionated' scent... what some prefer, others might really dislike. Depends on what you're after. I like NG's Gingerbread... it's really spicy, and throws amazing in soy.
  9. If you had a seperate post at the bottom of the page, it would change the "Last Post" date on the page showing all the threads, then it wouldn't be in the title. Simply delete the last post, and re-post it when you update the list to keep the "Last Post" date current with your updates. That is what I was looking at that made me think the thread was dead for such a long time... the last post date was so long ago, and doesn't reflect edits to the posts. Just add a new post to the thread that says "Last Updated: xx/xx/xx" and nothing more.. delete and re-add to keep the "Last Post" date current. It's an idea!
  10. I did my part and PM'd my list! I thought that list was long dead since it hadn't been updated in forever... otherwise I would have sent my findings in long ago. Glad to see it's coming back to life.
  11. Depends on where you live. I, too, order from Nature's Garden.. but I live in Ohio so shipping is quick and cheap.
  12. Birds Of Paradise I can totally see being a hot seller... I was honestly surprised at how well it threw. Being such a soft, subtle scent, I wasn't expecting much.. and it totally knocked my socks off. Love it!
  13. Ordered some spring scents a few weeks ago, and now testing them out... there wasn't a scent in the batch that I didn't like... (okay, maybe one.. we'll get to that later) ------------ Birds of Paradise - Burning right now, throws like crazy in soy. Love this one, and I can't stand florals... but I'd willingly burn this one any time! Fresh Cut Grass - I'm a sucker for grass scents.. the smell of a freshly mowed lawn in summer instantly makes me a happy boy. NG's version is similar to the cologne Gap carried years ago, and discontinued (GRR!) but slightly sweeter... a bit more sweet clover scent.. but still fantastic nonetheless. Fresh Fruit Slices - My absolute favorite of the bunch. Love love love love this one. Tangerine Lemongrass - Cured this one for 4 days, and anxiously lit it last night.. throw is okay, and I'm sure it will improve after a few more days curing... but the scent is fantastic and clean. Love it. Lemon Meringue Pie - Love the scent, having a hard time wicking this one, though... but I think the up-and-down weather we've been having here in Ohio has had something to do with that. Strong on the lemon in cold throw... hot throw brings out the vanilla meringue and just a tiny hint of pie crust. Yuzu - LOVE IT. 'Nuff said. Kama Sutra In The Mood - Love this one.. had a few people over last night that smelled it and went nuts over it. Several said it reminded them of their spring break vacations. Yacht Club - Picked this one up after someone here reccomended it... and I have yet to burn it, but absolutely love the cold smell. Very clean, crisp unisex scent. Totally smells like a day on the boat at sea. Homemade Cheesecake - Okay.. here's my one that I'm not so crazy about. Had high hopes for it... but, I don't know... it's got a bizzare fruity top note that's not listed on the scent description... and I can't pinpoint what it is. They say there's a hint of almond as a top note, which could potentially be what I'm smelling... but it's overly fruity. I can't get past it. Had several others give the cold throw a whiff, and they said it smells like dead-on cheesecake... but I can't get past this fruity note I'm smelling. Anyone else used this one and had the same results?
  14. That's kind of a harsh stand to take. You'll seriously miss out on some fabulous FO's with that take on things. Sure, you might get some junkers from other places.. but to stop and say you'll never try anything from anyone besides Peaks is just flat out silly.
  15. Sounds like the ink smeared when you applied the label, correct? Did you allow ample drying time? Are your labels designed for use in an inkjet printer? Some labels are for use in a laser printer only.
  16. I was refraining from replying to this thread because I couldn't think of a delicate way to say that. But, it's definetley not just you.
  17. Are we gonna start seeing the "Where can I get fiber-optic wicks with LED's at the base?" threads now instead of "Where can I get Wood Wicks?"
  18. Well, using a high-temp glue gun would be a way of attaching them... not sure how the glue gun would aid in centering them, however.
  19. Depending on how strong the FO is.. you can get higher... I'll use anywhere from 1-6 drops pp (depending on the desired color, of course.. and mixing colors) but some strong scents I can get away with 8 or 9 drops pp. Typically, though, it's in the 1-6 range. This thread I posted a while back shows off a broad color range... these are all done w/ NG's liquid dyes: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread~t~37347.php
  20. I just poured more Vanilla Pear last night.. it must be your nose! I *LOVE* this scent! Gingerbread is one of my NG fav's for Christmas... smells like true gingerbread to me, and the throw is phenomenal... one little 2oz tester tin threw scent all over the house!
  21. I'm using NG's Liquid Dyes and love them... they're VERY concentrated.. a little goes a long way. You've got to be careful though... too much dye can produce a fuel smell if you're not careful. Just don't go using like 11 drops of dye per pound of wax and you're fine! I highly reccommend them... I've got one of every color they have!
  22. I'm looking for a dupe of one of my favorite colognes from Thierry Mugler.. A*Men (Sometimes referred to as Angels for Men) Tried the fragrance finder, and located it from Wellington, then a search here on Wellington made me decide to not order from them. There was a Canadian supplier, but in an effort to keep shipping down, I'm looking for a US supplier. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
