  1. And I cannot give away this scent. GO FIGURE!
  2. I don't think that luck is really it. I think it is all about how one makes themself out to be and if thye know what will have mass appeal. I agree about the marketing. Also, this guy may not have anything much, but it is bound to be better than a lot of the commercial stuff. There is a seller on Etsy who does only MP soap. Her photography is incredible and she has thousands and thousands and THOUSANDS of positive feedback. Her stuff is nice, but certainly not particularly better than the other fine talent found on Etsy. She has thousands of twitter followers and sells herself well. She knows how to kick butt in this business.
  3. Definitely. I have never tried it in MP. Sounds wonderful!
  4. I use it in leave on products too. Evening Primrose Oil makes such a wonderful lotion.
  5. I think any tropical or citrus body butter sells like crazy.
  6. Same here. But I still think some scents just generally sell. I find that straight up, one note, classic scents do very well. Vanilla is a prime example. Both genders like it and so do kids.
  7. Steve just reminded me that UNSCENTED is a great seller and is less money to produce.
  8. I think the best selling scents are Oatmeal Milk & Honey, any clean citrus scent, and a good vanilla scent. Lavender sells well, but is not a best seller for me. My best selling florals have always been Rose and Lily of the Valley. A good herbal scent always sells well and so do ocean scents.
  9. I have never used vanilla stablilizer like you have described. I just put it in the melted base and incorporate it well. I have never made a batch with the stabilizer in it for later use. I do use vanilla stable base these days and it is wonderful.
  10. Really? I have never had this happen. I just squeeze out the oil and put it away for another day of experimenting. I just can't remember where I bought my last batch from. I could kick myself. They are the best that I have ever used and affordable too.
  11. I don't rinse mine. That's gross. I reuse them all the time when I am experimenting with blends. I just squeeze out the oil and stand it up in a ziplock bag and save it for when I 'play" again. Anyway, as already asked in this thread, who has good ones that are cheap?
  12. I am glad that you posted this! I reuse mine all the time for the same scents. But all pipettes are NOT created the same. Some drop dead and break with a few uses. Some are indestructable and last forever. I would like to get more bang for my buck and get good ones.
  13. I am SO glad this worked out for you! Peaks is a fantastic company to do business with.
  14. I don't use UPS. However, I always add $1 - $2 per order into the shipping charge depending on the size of the order. I call it SHIPPING. I do not add use the word handling. I do not charge my customers separately for paypal or credit card fees or for the price of their packing materials. I do explain what REASONABLE SHIPPING means on my website and disclose everything when asked. I think I have been asked about shipping once in 15 years of business.
  15. That sounds wonderful! I am always looking for a good lemon.
  16. I believe that I started using Peaks French vanilla after 2009, but I am not certain. I have purchased this scent at least a dozen times. I do know there is absolutely NO floral note to it or I would not be using it.
  17. I didn't think that kids would actually be carrying around candles. I assumed that they would have a brochure or a pictured list. Here, kids never carry product unless it happens to be candy bars. The parents are the ones who distribute the products when they are delivered and there is one mass pick up at school. I don't know how other regions do this though.
  18. I think that elementary school aged is much better. Young kids like to sell and jump right in to do it. Older kids shy away from this sort of thing unless they are in a group selling it. I think it is best to contact each school.
  19. I am very happy for you. I hope that she has changed her way of doing business and treating people. I never had success with Jody's, so naturally, I will never order from her again. I think your post taught a valuable lesson for everyone.
  20. Candybee, I forgot to mention that I mix in Cinnamon from WSP with the NG Cinnamon Buns. The WSP Cinnamon is an amazing scent that sticks like crazy and is the aroma of straight ground cinnamon.
  21. I like all of the skin safe cinnamons from NG. I have used them straight and blended them. My favorite combination is the body safe Cinnamon Buns fo. If you have a bit of clove fo on hand, put in just a few drops with the Cinnamon Buns. This seems to heighten the cinnamon scent, but you cannot smell the clove.
  22. I don't use straight cinnamon. NG has a few nice cinnamon body safe scents that are wonderful. Most are bakery type. Honestly, I think straight cinnamon is probably just to strong for skin application which is why cinnamon body safe scents are bakery type or mixed with fruits.
  23. Cinnamon soap sells like crazy for me from October - February.
