Wondering if you make only soap, only candles, or both. Thanks!

Just wondering how many people do both? For me, I have no interested in doing candles, so that made me wonder what everyone else did.

the pink one is grapefruit colored with, I think, alkanet root powder. The second is Goats milk scented with eucalyptus and spearmint.

I'm wondering how many bars of soap a 1 lb recipe should make. Mine average about 5 bars and they are pretty good sized bars.... 3.5 x 2 x 1 and they average out to be about 4.5oz bars. BUT I saw a really nice slab mold that is for 3 lb's of soap but it only make 9 bars! What am I missing?

well, the little town I live in doesn't have anyone selling handmade soaps. So I guess I"m looking for the "tried and true" Blacktieaffair, what city are you in? Can I take a day trip to Aztec and smell their scents? I would SO do that!

thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I found out to late how expensive this hobby is. I've spent probably $200 just to get started and that's without buying hardly any dyes, fragrances or a mold! But I'm hooked now! PS Saying a prayer for your marine on this memorial day!
