  1. I love the Aquatech hemp lotion - you are right, though, that they don't have a goatsmilk one. I opened the WSP one - it's thick but too.... white. Just too stark white. Which makes it look so "artificial" to me. I like the Aquatech because it's a very slight greeninsh tint so I don't feel I need to color it. It has a much thinner consistency. OK some thinking to do - do I have time and $$$ to order from Aquatech?
  2. Depends on where you live and what quantity of each you need. For larger amounts I like New Directions.
  3. I miss it - was a similar fragrance ever identified?
  4. Ha! Apparently I ordered that last time I got something. I have issues with their business model, but now that they've stopped apparently randomly changing things and it seems better. Anyway I haven't opened it yet so will check it out tonight. How THICK is it? Lotion or cream? I now remember being very annoyed it came in a tub and not a pumpable bottle so I set it aside. Thank you!
  5. Old I know but actually the kokum is less greasy than cocoa butter. And jojoba is less greasy, in my opinion, than sweet almond oil. I think yours is likely feeling greasy because it's the nature of the beast. Try cutting down on the oil and adding in some IPM, cyclomethicone, or fractionated coconut oil instead.
  6. I'm sorry but that's just nasty. Not to mention I doubt the crayola colorants are FD&C approved!
  7. I pour it into clean (dishwasher clean) yogurt cups then once it's hardened I put it in a ziplock bag (with or without the yogurt cup).
  8. Fractionated coconut oil. It's not as "dry" as IPM but it's pretty good.
  9. I wonder if Aztec isn't their "very large customer".
  10. You need to check the allowed levels as well. Check out http://www.ifraorg.org/en-us/standards Lip products are category 1. Your EO may be listed as such, or it may be listed by component (sigh) which complicates things. For example, if you search on the site for peppermint you get nothing, But peppermint EO contains a high level of carvone which is allowed at 0.08% with a footnote that it also has to meet any rules regarding use in food. Good luck, and yes - use FCC ones (ScentWorks had them, not sure any longer)
  11. Here's a bigger one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Candle-Wax-Melting-Pot-Paraffin-Melter-Electric-Wax-Melter-/351201387813?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51c53be525
  12. Yep. No free shipping - they just buried the cost. Sigh.
  13. When I used it at 48% I could almost smell it - but not really. And no one who didn't know it was there could pick it up at all. Go ahead and use what you have.
  14. I mostly use my own, but I do love Dove. It doesn't leave my skin dry or itchy - it's really very nice. Mind you, I still like my own better but I think the lather of Dove is magnificent and it's kind to my skin.
  15. I'd say it's more like CP with hot oils, but whatever works! My challenge is neatly pouring from a crockpot!
  16. Also consider you may develop "candle-nose" (adapt to the fragrance in the air and then not be able to smell it) - especially if you are in mad-candlemaking-mode and have fragrances in the air a lot. And that there are certain scents you may just have difficulty judging. I'm glad you are making progress - the cure really really does matter (so when you get into sharing or selling mode, you need to build that into your timeline).
  17. can we get only one of each in the 1 oz size this year? prior years you could get 2, but the cart keeps resetting to 1...
  18. It's gorgeous, but yea - if you take away the browning, Pink Sugar is orange. Go figure.
  19. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2702190/Alert-DIY-organic-sunscreens-oils-Doctors-warn-against-following-nonsense-internet-advice-oils-offer-protection-rating-50.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490
  20. what kind of spf do you think you'll be getting? You getting your information from here? http://greatbodyskin.com/natural-sunblock-recipe/ Her math, and assumptions, are ridiculously flawed. And I'd also like to point out that aloe vera gel is water based and won't mix with the oils without benefit of an emulsifier, and a preservative. don't waste your money - it's not a sunscreen.
  21. Dry oil doesn't need to be preserved. Body spray does (assuming you make your own - if you buy a base it's already preserved).
  22. Steve is absolutely correct. Do not "buy" into the free-shipping thing. They need to recoup their costs and make a profit just like anyone else - it's just a marketing game. If you get a lower overall cost somewhere rest assure they're making it up and then some somewhere else.
