  1. You guys are making me feel a little better. 🙂 Not everyone, I've actually had great luck with shipping this whole month from various companies. I placed 4 other orders on the same day (4/18) that I placed my order with WSP and 3 more orders after (4/20 & 4/22).) I have already received 3 of those orders and the other 4 are currently in transit to me. I just revisited their site and I do the see the 6-8 day lead time at the top of the page. Today marks 5 business days, so hopefully it'll go out soon.
  2. So I placed my first order with WSP on 4/18 (still hasn't shipped out😐) and was looking over their Yelp reviews tonight and the majority of them are negative (1-2 stars.) The main trend seems to be extremely slow shipping (some reviewers were talking weeks) and awful customer service. Many say that if you reach out to them with an issue or concern, they are very rude and simply deactivate your account. Reviews elsewhere are just as bad. However, I know many of you here order from them quite a bit. I already know that I like the oils I purchased, as I got samples from a friend first, so I'd like to continuing buying these particular oils from WSP. But now, I'm worried.😕
  3. Muddy Soap's Nights Watch sound a bit similar to Winterfell from WSP. I wonder how they would compare. I have and love Winterfell, definitely recommend it! If you've ever smelled Bonfire Bliss from RE, that's what Winterfell reminds me of, only with a toned down cedar note and more smoky woods.
  4. Unfortunately, I haven't found an oud scent that I like. I'm thinking it may just be too "medicinal" to my nose.
  5. Only 3??😛 Indigo (I've been ordering from Indigo for many years, dating back to when Dawn & her hubby started on Etsy. Customer service is always on point, pricing & shipping are pretty dang good if you ask me, and I have never, not once, had an issue with my orders. Indigo will always a top pick for me.) The Flaming Candle (I only started purchasing from TFC a few months ago and I am loving many of their oils.) Save On Scents (I really like the wide range of oils from SOS. Sooo many to choose from!)
  6. Thank you everyone for your suggestions, I appreciate them all! 😊
  7. Ones I have, had, or sampled from TCS that I can recall off the top of my head... *I copied the notes from various sites. Tom Ford Black Orchid (Unisex) Type - Oil strength-Strong. This is a pretty popular fragrance. Something about this dark fragrance intrigues me, I find I really enjoy smelling it. Notes: Top notes are French jasmine, black truffle, ylang-ylang, black currant, and effervescent citrus. In the floral-spicy heart, dwells Tom Ford's black orchid, more imaginary than real, and the base combines woodsy notes (patchouli and sandalwood), dark chocolate, incense, amber, vetiver, vanilla, and balsam. Aquolina Blue Sugar (Men) Type - Oil strength-Strong. I love this fragrance. To me, this is a dark, sweet fragrance that leans masculine, but could easily be unisex. If sweet cotton candy could be manly, it would be Blue Sugar. Notes: Top notes are mandarin orange and bergamot; middle notes are coriander, patchouli, lavender, licorice and cotton candy; base notes are tonka bean, star anise and cedar. Black Butter (Unisex) - Oil Strength-Moderate to Strong. My boyfriend really likes this one. To me, this is a pleasing fragrance that leans more masculine, with just a hint of sweetness and a sexy edginess about it. Although TCS does not list the notes for Black Butter, I found them at Scent Aroma Oils. Notes: Hints of buttery mango and vanilla. It's made from Burnt sugar and sandalwood mingled with notes of patchouli and licorice and vanilla. Baccarat Rouge 540 (Unisex) Type - Oil Strength-Weak I love this fragrance, but not TCS's version of it, as I found it very weak and smelling more like Ariana Grande's Cloud than BR540. While BR540 is unisex, some claim it does lean a bit more feminine. I have not yet tried purchasing it elsewhere. Notes: Top notes are jasmine and saffron; middle notes are amberwood and ambergris; base notes are fir resin and cedar. Tom Ford Sahara Noir (Unisex) Type - Oil Strength-Weak to Moderate. To me, this a dry, incensy, desert-like fragrance. I envision sand dunes and incense. I like it. Notes: Frankincense, cistus essence, bitter orange, Jordanian calamus (an oasis sweet grass), cypress, cinnamon, papyrus extract, jasmine, beeswax absolute, amber, ambreinol, benzoin, vanilla, cedar, agarwood, and balsam. Antonio Banderas Seduction In Black (Men) Type - Oil Strength-Strong One of my boyfriend's favorites. Dark and clean at the same time. Notes: Top notes of blackcurrant and bergamot. Heart notes turn up the heat with the spiced collection of nutmeg, cardamom and coriander. The base notes conclude with musk, Virginia cedar, amber and tonka bean. Tom Ford Velvet Orchid (Women) Type - Oil Strength-Strong Even though this is marketed to women, I believe it can easily be unisex. Reminds me of a softer version of Black Orchid. Notes: Bergamot, mandarin, honey, vanilla, orange blossom, rose, jasmine, narcissus, magnolia, Cattleya leopoldii orchid, heliotrope, rum, suede, labdanum, sandalwood, and myrrh. Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb (Men) Type - Oil Strength-Moderate A popular fragrance. Spicy and clean, however, less spicy than I had imagined, judging by the notes. Notes: Chili, saffron, leather, tobacco, vetiver, bergamot, grapefruit, elemi and pink pepper. Tom Ford Noir de Noir (Unisex) Type - Oil Strength-Moderate I haven't yet decided if I personally like it or not lol. I think it leans a bit more masculine, mature even. Notes: Black rose, Patchouli, Black truffle, Vanilla, Oud, Saffron, Oakmoss, Floral notes. Dragon's Blood - Oil Strength-Strong I, personally, don't like TCS's Dragon's Blood at all. I find it way too fresh, citrusy and floral, as opposed to the deep, earthy resinous I am accustomed to. Notes: I have no idea. Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka (Unisex) Type - Oil Strength-Weak I really like this fragrance, it's soft and incensy, but the sample I purchased from TCS was weak imo. I'd like to purchase it elsewhere and compare. Notes: Top note is lavender; middle note is myrrh; base notes are vanilla, tonka bean and almond. Bvlgari (Bulgari) Black (Unisex) Type - Oil Strength-Strong Imo, this leans more masculine than unisex. Smells like cheap men's cologne to me. Notes: Top notes of rose, green tea and bergamot create a sweet aura that transitions to a heart of jasmine, sandalwood and cedar. I have sampled many more, but it's hard to remember my thoughts on them atm. I will definitely update my reply should I recall a particular fragrance. I know that Tom Ford fragrances are popular (and typically strong in oil form), so I'd suggest sampling a few of those, TCS has several. If there's a particular fragrance/s you're interested in and would like to see the notes & look over some reviews to determine popularity (higher chances of sell), look up the fragrance on Fragrantica. 🙂
  8. I've ordered tons of Type fragrances from The Common Scents. I don't use them in wax, but I do remember someone on here a while back asking the same question. If I recall correctly, some said that they saw no reason why they couldn't be and some recommended contacting them to ask. They (usually Liam) are typically pretty good at replying by the following business day. Their Type oils are usually spot on for scent, however, I do find that some are a bit weak and others are quite strong.. hit or miss in the strength department really. I currently have several of their oils on hand and have sampled dozens, if you have a question about any particular oil/s, feel free to ask. If I'm able, I cant atleast give you my opinion on scent/strength.
  9. I'm on the hunt for a good, plain woodsy scent. What I mean by "plain" is just good 'ol woodsy notes... NO floral or fruit notes. Nothing "clean, fresh, energizing, or powdery", as I prefer a darker wood scent. Nothing too "cedary" (ya know, the kind that smells like a hamster's cage lol) or "piney" (In fact, I don't care for pine at all.) A darker, dry woody scent is what I'm looking for, I guess. My goodness am I being picky here lol!😋 I'd like to use it for perfume blending. Any suggestions, ya'll?
  10. Wellington - Beach Bonfire The Common Scents - Black Butter, Black Orchid by Tom Ford Type. They have TONS of men's "Designer Type" oils. The Flaming Candle - Charcoal Tonka SaveOnScents - Sauvage by Dior Type
  11. Indigo - Pipe Tobacco, Vanilla Tobacco, Caramel Tobacco, Cherry Tobacco, Bourbon Tobacco, Santa's Pipe, Cognac & Cubans. Love all of these!
  12. I have Aztec's Brazilian Coffee & Pure Cane, it's definitely a sweet, creamy coffee scent! Smells great, but a bit too sweet for me, so it'll go to destash. It may not have vanilla in the description, but you wouldn't know it when you smelled it.
  13. Chocolate Frost Chocolate Icicles Chocolate Snow Chocolate Snowflake Iced Chocolate Winter Ganache Winter Cocoa Winter Fudge Winter Candy Dark Winter Breeze Hot Cocoa & Snow Cozy Winter Night
  14. How is their Tobacco? I was just eyeballing that one this morning. I currently am using Pipe Tobacco & Vanilla Tobacco from Indigo, both are great, but Aztec's added notes of brown sugar and mahogany woods sound lovely.
  15. Heading over to FB now to check em out. Thank you for your suggestions.
  16. By the description, it sounds pretty green. The issue isn't with the oils smelling good in the products, but rather on the skin. Once applied to skin, they morph into something "chemical." I've used different carriers/bases as well and still have the same end result.
  17. At this point, I'm honestly open to any of those categories, as long as it doesn't leave that horrid chemical/plastic smell on skin. OOB, I love the smell of JS's Coconut Extreme, but it morphs into that yucky smell as soon as it's blended and/or on skin.
  18. That would be fantastic, thank you! 😃😃 I will pm you.
  19. No, I haven't tried them. I have looked over Daystar's oils a few times, seeing many that I'd love to sample, but the site always seems.. forgotten, for lack of better words. Have you successfully placed an order with them recently?
  20. ALL I WANT IS A COCONUT FO THAT DOESN'T LEAVE THAT AWFUL PLASTIC/CHEMICAL STENCH ON THE SKIN!!! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?? *weeps in the corner with all my coconut fo duds😢* Ok, now for my inside voice lol... Seriously though, what is with all these chemical-like coconut fragrance oils? Every single one I have sampled leaves that icky note on the skin. I tested them on others as well, thinking my skin chemistry might just be whack, but nope, the stench lingers on their skin as well. While I'm sure most of them are phenomenal in wax, they simply don't cut it in lotions/perfumes. Too long I've been searching for a good non-fruity, non-green coconut or coconut-vanilla fo. I have sampled so many.. Just Scent, Indigo, SOS, Nature's Garden, MMS, Eternal Essence, P & J, CandleLynn, Wellington, RE, Elements (off the top of my head.) Being a die-hard coconut addict and a perfume maker, I cannot sell plastic-scented coconut products to my customers. Any suggestions?
  21. My first time reading through this thread and I agree with GailC, it's definitely an interesting read. 😂 Earlier this week, I got a sniffie sample of Thunderstorm Scented Type from SOS. It immediately went into a ziplock baggie and into the trash! It smelled like pungent, urine soaked cat litter. As a kid, we had a not-so-tidy neighbor with a lot of cats. She would pay me 25 cents to bring her mail inside and I'll never forget the ammonia-like urine smell of the litter boxes in her house. I can't fathom how SOS could even remotely consider that oil a "thunderstorm" scent. 🤢 Bum Bum Type from TCS smells like an atrocious bathroom cleaner. Almond Milk and Sea Salt from JS. I had high hopes for this one, but all I could get from it was that sterile, alcohol-like smell you breathe in at hospitals. Cake Bake from Indigo is 100% plastic & chemicals to my nose. I find that a lot of vanillas (and cake scents) have a "barf-like" chemical smell to them as well. While I haven't and will never sample such a fragrance, SOS has a Halitosis oil that is said to be beyond vile.
  22. I forgot to mention that I received the Fresh Cut Roses sample from Indigo and the OOB bottle impression was great! Strong, with no perfume-y or "old lady" notes. Smells like sticking my face directly into a bouquet of fresh roses. Will definitely be using this one as a blender.
  23. I've only used a few of their oils in lotions/perfumes for my friends & family that don't want to pay designer prices lol, so I wouldn't know specifics on using their oils for candles, although I would think it'd be fine. You could contact them and ask.
  24. SOS was the first place I looked, they seem to have all the "weird" scents lol! I actually enjoy the smell of sulfur. Blending it might be tricky and the finished product would definitely be an avant-garde fragrance, but I would be excited to test it. If I ever find a FO, that is.
