  1. Uh yeah...some smart butt stuck it in my tub-o-oils at the Texas convention. There still has not been a confession! Post #63 http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27603&page=7
  2. Oh WOW! Looks GREAT guys!!!!!! I will help others out...here is a link...lol. http://www.neewollah.com/Arts-Crafts-14710.asp It is second row down, second from the left. Super impressed! And I have been the lucky recipient of TWO of Scented pilliars and they smell as beautiful as they look!!!!!
  3. this one time...in my bedroom.... You know...I have totally been thinking of adding some potpourri at my shows so they can scoop and bag themselves. The thing that has been holding me back is 1) no one has ever asked me for it and 2) you have seen my booth. Even with a double booth I am having trouble finding places to put stuff! Idunno. :tiptoe:
  4. Uh, I am sure you will think of SOME way to make it up to him, huh? Let me know if you need some ideas...lol. So glad you had a kick butt show! Those are the best, until, like you said, you have to restock! lol...I had a few weeks between shows, at least. Get yer butt in gear and start pouring!
  5. I'd say that makes for a VERY good day!
  6. Hope all goes well Scented and you have a kick butt show!
  7. Okay...how sad is it when you have to have a "canned" email for people who complain about your candles. That is all that is...just plug and send.
  8. Speaking as the recipient of a Charssi.com box (thanks AJ!!!) it is HEAVENLY!!!!!!!!
  9. B&BW did an "imagine" line a long time ago...they discontinued it much to the frustration of tons of their customers. There is one called Imagine Happiness (They had Imagine peace and love as well). BNL used to carry it and then I think it was discontinued; but BCN picked it back up when they purchased BNL.
  10. Then you must try onlinelabels.com I have a few of my products that I do the labels for at home (others I have done through a printer). For my clamshells I bought the nametag labels at Officemax...Avery brand. I never knew so many colorful words could come out of my mouth. You know the ole story, one sheet would come out great, the next ten would be off. You should see the email I sent Avery at 2am...I am not proud of it. Anyway, I bought the SAME label from onlinelabels.com and for this past show, I printed out 73 sheets and not ONE printed incorrectly. I had the same experience with 2inch round labels (white, not craft). I don't know why, but they just work where as I was forever pulling my hair out with Avery labels. The fact the prices are better is just an added plus!
  11. That is SO on target! I recently did a show in which I almost doubled the sales from the previous year from the same show. In looking at my customer base that day, I would guess more than 70% came from repeat customers.
  12. I am thinking supplier. Lots of vague insinuations but that is just what I keep thinking as I read along.
  13. Rosebuds is good...it (to me) is more of a perfumy rose. Their Gypsy rose smells just like a rose garden...bushes and all. I have a sample of the white chocolate. Doggonnit now I have to pour it. The Hawaiian Sand is the only one I have ever tested from them that I could not get to throw. That is the only one I have ever been disappointed with. Their Baked apple pie smells JUST like Home Interiors. Citrus and Teakwood is another GREAT one!
  14. Packaging. Packaging, and packaging. That goes from everything from your container to your booth to your business cards to, well, everything. Of course this is my opinion and just what I have heard from my customers. At shows, so many people comment on the "look" before the candles. Of course once they smelled the candles they were hooked....lol. (Yes, I am modest) Bottom line, if it's not eye catching...they are going to walk on by.
  15. Way to go girl!!!!!!! You done good! Any of the suggestions I had have already been mentioned. Congrats on the big show!!!!
  16. Write them and send the picture and see what kind of response you get! Come on...it will be fun!!!!
  17. Super cute!!!! I like the look of it. I like the twine, but as someone said, the jute would be a bit less "fayable" (is that a word...lol), is very cheap and the is more of a "kraft color". I just get it at wally world.
  18. Still working with a lot of 04-06 stuff, but that was acting a bit persnickity from my last lot (January). Thanks for the heads up on the September lot...please let us know what they say!!!!
  19. I am sure all will go well! I have been doing this for so long and I still get so excited before shows that I have trouble sleeping! lol... I am anxious to hear how it goes!
  20. I am so happy for you! I hope to do the same in a couple of weeks...my first fall season show is on the 21. The good thing is that I have already had like 23 emails asking if I will be there again this year, so I am taking that as a good sign!
  21. It could all be in the wording some times too. My old label design said all natural soy wax. The wax is "natural" but I explain that the candle as a whole is not. I actually have changed the wording on my new label designs...it was too misleading and I don't wanna be lumped into the "buy my candle or die burning others" catagory. I am very forthcoming on my site and in person that it is very hard to have an totally "natural" candle. I just don't believe in marketing through scare tactics, but unfortunately, some feel it is the only way they can sell. Words like cancer and carcinogens are just thrown around too many times. I agree with Michael...take the high road and let your products speak for themselves.
  22. Actually in an suburb called Catalina . If so and you are interested in a consigment store type thing, please PM me.
